Birthday Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing two card I created for the May Taylored Expressions #TE Maker Challenge. This moth for the challenge we were to use either ... Ink Blending; Circle; Pink. I combined all three options to make my cards.

This week I am also featuring Slimline Cards on my blog, so I decided to incorporate the challenge with Slimline cards. I used Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Card Panels and Windows die set for the layers of both cards.

I have been wanting to use Taylored Expressions Backstory Birthday Background stamp on a card for some time now, so I pulled that out to use on both my backgrounds. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to create a landscape or a portrait style card using this background ... so I created both. It took a little bit extra time to stamp the image and make sure it was lined up on both cards but it was worth the extra time.

I white embossed the background onto my white panel. I then used the smallest circle masking stencil from Taylored Expressions Masking Stencils - Circles set. I blended Catherine Pooler inks in It's a Girl and Be Mine using my blending brush to create circles all over the background.

I added a Kaisercraft Birthday sentiment to the front of my card and then added the "Birthday Girl!" sentiment which is from Taylored Expressions Simple Strips - Birthday stamp set and coordinating die.

I had a leftover panel of embossed resist background from a panel which I stamped part of the background wrong, so I decided to use that for the left side of the inside of my card.

I added another sentiment from the Simple Strips - Birthday stamp/die set and also added two balloons which are from a La La Land Crafts monthly kit.

I used the same elements I used on my landscape version of my card on my portrait style card.

I also added jewels randomly to the front of both cards.

For the inside of my card I added a sentiment and two balloons.

You Are Egg-ceptional

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card I created for Taylored Expressions  March #TE Maker Challenge.

The challenge this month gave us the options: Clean & Simple, Square; White.

I struggle with doing Clean & Simple, but I attempted it for today's challenge ... hopefully it works for the challenge. It's as close to it as I will get.

White was pretty easy ... lots of white on this card.

For the "square" portion of the challenge I decided to use the new Taylored Expressions Square Windows Masking Stencils. I used the 4 square window stencil for this card and blended Sauna & Tiki Torch Catherine Pooler inks to the squares using my Taylored Expressions Blending Brushes. I then covered the stencilled area with Altenew's Feeling Dotty Stencil lightly covering the area with Tiki Torch ink.

I used Taylored Expressions Mini Strips - Easter and the coordinating die set for the sentiment below the stencilled panels.

I didn't have anything Easter relating from Taylored Expressions so I used my Lawn Fawn Hatchling die set to add the image to the centre of the stencilled window squares.

I added another of the Mini Strip - Easter sentiments to the inside of the card.

I also added some grass along the bottom of my card, using MFT Stamps Tucked-In Turf Horizontal die set.
