Sending Christmas Wishes!

elzy-topnote-giftcard-wm

It is Elzybells challenge time over on the Elzybells Art Stamps blog. This week the challenge was to “Create a Christmas Gift/Packaging.

I decided to create a gift card holder, because I figured that could be classed as a gift and packaging as well. I recently saw a fun gift card holder made using the top note die over on De Stampin Corner so I decided to give that ago.

I used the new Tags – Christmas set from Elzybells … I just love this stamp set as it gives you so many options. As you can see I also added texture to the front of my gift card holder using my cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. The slit at the top holds the gift card in place as well as keeping the front of the holder closed.

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the design team created for this challenge.

Featured Stamper #133

FS133-Jojot-wm

Hi everyone,

It has been a long time since I have played along with the Featured Stamper on SCS, but this week I just had to!

The stamper being featured this week is Jo-jot, Joanne’s gallery is amazing I have long admired her work. After looking through her gallery I finally ended up deciding to CASE her Nature's Silhouettes in Pink card.

As per the rules of the featured stamper challenge, I had to change at least 2 things on my card. Here are my changes:

  • I substituted red card for the pink that Joanne used
  • I decided to use this cute fishing kids stamp which both Joanne & I have and there are tons of cards in her gallery using it so I decided it was as good as an excuse as any to use it hehe.

Congratulations Joanne for being this week’s featured Stamper!

Stamps: Kids Fishing – Ornamentum

Paper: White; Black; Riding Hood Red – SU; DP – Unknown

Grow Love Plant A Tree

mftmfc12-grow-love-wm

Hi everyone,

My card today is for this week’s My Favorite Challenge over on the My Favorite Things Member Forum of SCS. This week the challenge is called “Freshly Inked” which was to ink up any stamp that you’ve got and not yet put to use.

Well this was easy as I hadn’t used the new Stephanie Fizer stamp set called “Grow Love Plant a Tree” which was released earlier in the month. Because my set took the scenic route to get to me this time round I wasn’t able to use it for the release but I sure can now hehe! I paper pieced the trees.

Recipe:

Stamps: Grow Love Plant A Tree – MFT Stamps

Paper: White; Dust Durango, Bermuda Bay & Thoroughly Modern DP – SU

Other: Black Ink; Circle Punches; Top Note Die; Dusty Durango Grosgrain Ribbon; Foam Tape; Copics

Celebrate MFT Day!

mft-flopsey-flowersx-wm

Hello everyone

Did you know that the 20th of the Month is “Celebrate MFT Day” ….. we of course today is the 20th April so here is my MFT card to help celebrate. Most of the Design Team are celebrating with MFT’s Flopsey stamps … I used Flopsey’s Flowers for my card today.

I wasn’t sure for a while today if I would be able to take my photo of my card so I could share it with you all. I turned my camera on and it said “Frame no. Full” and wouldn’t let me take a photo – yikes! Apparently I have taken that many photos since I had this camera that it had reached the end of the frames formatted on my camera … something like 9999 or whatever. So thankful for the internet as I was able to go to my camera’s web site and find the problem and fix it so now I am all set to take another 9999 photos *giggle*

You're A Good Egg!

Hi everyone .... I have two things to share with you this time using the new stamps that will be released by Elzybells Art Stamps this Monday 23rd February. This time I am using stamps from 2 new stamp sets .... Eggstravagansa & Eggstravagansa Sentiments.

Eggstravagansa Sentiments contains a solid and an outline egg ... that are both plain. It also has 6 fun sentiments and two background stamps ... one of which you can see on the base panel of my card.

The Eggstravagansa set contains lots of different patterns that you can use to decorate your eggs in the Eggstravagansa Sentiment set. Some of these eggs would also work alone.

Here is a close up of my card ... I used the dots and stamps from the Eggstravagansa set to decorate the solid egg I stamped. I had planned on using different colors to create my card and then I saw the easter eggs I had to fill my Easter goody bag so of course I went with these colors instead :)

And this is my goody bag with all those yummy Easter Eggs! I used my top note die to create the topper for the back that I decorated with the solid eggs and then added the sentiment.

Recipe:
Stamps: Eggstravagansa & Eggstravagansa Sentiments - Elzybells
Paper: White; Sun Yellow; Tempting Turquoise - SU;
Other: So Saffron, Sun Yellow, Cool Caribbean & Tempting Turquoise SU Inks; Top Note Die; Tab Punch; Circle Nestabilities;

Hi there! My card today is for this week's sketch challenge over on SCS. A little while ago my daughter asked me to make some male birthday cards for her husbands friends who were all turning 40 this year ... hopefully this one will be okay.

I just love the Changito Monkeys from Stampendous and I also love pirate stamps ... so this is the best of both worlds.

Here is the inside of the card .... some of the sentiments I used for this come from The Cat's Pajamas including this one on the inside of the card.

Lucky Riley

I think Riley needs all the luck he can get after his experiences in the lockup earlier in the week LOL ... so it good that he found this giant horseshoe.

This is Horseshoe Riley and along with GI Jon Riley will be released after the Hanna Stamps release party which will be held in the Hanna Stamps member forums this Thursday 5th February.

I decided to create a scrapling ... these are sooo much fun to create!

My card today uses the new Stephanie Fizer "Owls for All Seasons" ... aren't they adorable!!!!! I also used one of the new Stephanie Fizer Digital papers which is also available from MFT Stamps. I used the top note die for one of my layers ... I added texture to this by using the distressed stripes cuttlebug embossing folder.

I am still having fun with my copic air brush system ... this time I used it to color my flowers to match the colors I used on my card.

Don't forget that by participating in this challenge and posting your card to the MFTSC64 gallery on SCS you have a chance of winning a $5 gift voucher. For more details check the thread for this challenge over on the MFT member forum.

It's Story Time!

Happy Monday everyone ... I have a ton of cards to share with you all today. I will also have two more posts to upload throughout the day, so don't forget to come back to find out what is happening over here.

Now I am not going to tell you any stories today ... well not this post anyway LOL. My cards all have characters from fairy tales or books so I figured that was an appropriate title.

All the images used here are digital stamps from The Greeting Farm formerly known as Pink Poison. I really love their Anya & Ian Stamps and have been purchasing a few and when I found out last week that they had these 3 characters available as a digital download I just had to add them to my collection. The only difference is that rather than having to stamp out my image I have to print it out using my computer and printer.

After I purchased these images I printed them all out and colored them and had them sitting on my desk waiting to be made into something. I ended up using them to create cards for various sketch challenges that were posted last week.

The first card posted here uses "Red" from Little Red Riding Hood, I used the Technostampers sketch challenge to create my card. I also used the Stephanie Fizer digital papers.

My second card uses Alice from Alice in Wonderland. For this card I decided to use Mercy's Tuesday sketch challenge. I am very happy with my card although I was unhappy while making this as I broke my Lace Doily punch while I was making it ... so I found an old fiskars one instead I will have to get this one out again soon. And no my punch can't be fixed boo hoo!

My third card ... have you guessed it ... is Dorothy & Toto from the Wizard of Oz. For this one I used last week's Mojo Monday sketch .... did you know that there is a new blog devoted to the Mojo Monday sketch now.

The Alice & Dorothy cards both use paper from the SU East Coast designer paper pack.

My final project to share with you this post is this cute little basket/bag using the top note die .... I used Cornish Heritage Farm's lattice background to create the background on my top note layer.

Here is a side version of my gift basket/bag ... you can see how I sandwiched a bag between the two top note layers to create my project.

Recipe:
Stamps: Red, Alice & Dorothy Digital Stamps - The Greeting Farm
Papers: White; Black; Real Red, Tempting Turquoise & East Coast DP - SU; Stephanie Fizer Digital Paper - MFT Stamps
Other: Black Ink; Oval Nestabilities; Label 2 Nestabilities; Circle Punch; Oval Punch; Top Note Die; Black & Red Grosgrain Ribbon; Black & Red Brads; Fiskars Border Punch; Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Turquoise Flowers; Foam Tape; Copics

Gliding By

Hi everyone ... it is Paper Pretties Tuesday again here on my blog .... don't you just love this cute new Sophia image. This is to be the stamp for the month for the Paper Pretties Stamp of the Month club in January.

I created this card for one of the Paper Pretties PJ Party challenges from last Monday ... the challenge was to create a card using the colors pink, blue & white.

The background on the baja breeze card was created using the snowdots embossing folder. I used the top note die to create my layers that the girl is stamped on.

Recipe:
Stamps: Gliding By - Paper Pretties
Papers: White; Pretty In Pink & Baja Breeze - SU
Other: Black Ink; Baja Breeze SU Ink; Snowdots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder; Snowflake Die; Pink & Blue Brads; Top Note Die; Pink Grosgrain Ribbon; Label Die; Foam Tape; Copics
