Happy 15th Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a birthday card I created for my grandson who turned 15 this year. He has just discovered the joy of reading comics and especially loves the comic called One Piece, I have been helping encouraging him by ordering more as he needs them.

For this card I used products from Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott. This card is a Triple Tier Slider Card and I used her die set to create that.

I decorated the larger panel of my card using Sam's Changing Faces die sets, there are now 4 different die sets which include different styles of heads, hair, facial features etc. I used the Because I Care die set for the head and hair. For the facial features I used Love & Hugs die set. I love how you can customise the faces to get them to look like the recipient.

I used the pop up additions to add the headphones & book.

I found some One Piece Clip art online which I used to decorate my book/comic.

When you pull the top tab it reveals the middle panel. For this I used the Large Modern Numbers to add "15".

Pulling the top once more reveals the final tier. For this I used another piece of clip art I found online.

Here is a look at the back of my card. I added a stand to the back, so the card can be displayed standing easily. I added sentiments from the Moving Along Sentiments stamp set.

The "For My Grandson" at the top of the panel is from Spellbinders Nearest & Dearest Stamp set which was their Clear Stamp of the Month for March 25.

70th Birthday Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

As you can see, I have yet another 70th Birthday card to share with you. This will be my last one for a while LOL!

Happy Birthday - to me!!! Yes today is my birthday and I am 70!!!!

For my card today I created a Triple Tier Slider Card using the Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott's Triple Tier Slider Card die set. This card fits in a 5 x 7 envelope, when the card is completely closed.

To decorate my card, I used Spellbinders Bougie Birthday die set. I love this die set which contains the large cake, various icings and macroons as well as a few other things to help decorate the cake. I die cut the cake from ombre glitter cardstock in a tan color and then decorated it using chocolate ganache, macaroons etc.

I die cut the macaroons in rainbow colours to add to the top of the cake and the lower right hand side.

I added the Birthday Wishes sentiment in silver cardstock, which is from Papertrey Ink.

When you pull the tab at the top of the card, it reveals a second layer, which extends the bunting seen on the lower tier.

Pulling the tab one more time,  reveals the third layer which has the number "70th" on it.

I created a stand to add to the back of the card, this helps the card stand upright so it can be displayed and also gives a place to add a sentiment.

To create the stand I cut a piece of white cardstock that measured 4 inches by 11 3/4 inches. I then scored along the long side at 4 1/2; 9; 10 & 11. To fold start with the 4 1/2 inch score and mountain fold, mountain fold, valley fold; mountain fold. Adhere the two ends together and attach to the back of the card.

Let's Celebrate You

Hi Crafty Friends!

Happy New Year to you all, I hope 2025 is good for us all!

For my card today I am sharing a Triple Tier Slider card, I have made a few of these over the years, but I love having a die set that cuts everything out for you. This is a 5 x 7 inch card and uses Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott’s Triple Tier Slider die set which was released a while back by Craft Stash.

To decorate the main panel of my card, I used the cute mouse & boot which are two die sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

When you pull the tab that is showing at the top of the card it reveals a sentiment. This is also from Made To Surprise.

Pulling the tab at the top once more reveals another panel that contains a birthday sentiment which is from the same stamp set.

To finish the card, I added the ‘eek’ word three times randomly around the mouse.

Baby Boy Triple Tier Slider

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a baby card using the Triple Tier Slider Card with Layers die which was released by Divinity Designs earlier this month.

To decorate my card I used the Baby Blessings die set to create the onesie. This is layered to the card using ovals from the Double Stitched Ovals and Ovals die sets.

I used papers from the Baby Boy Paper Collection for all the layers of my card.

When you pull the tab on the top of the card, it reveals the first tier. On this panel I have the "Welcome Sentiment" also from the Baby Blessings die set. This is layered using the Double Pierced Vintage Labels die set.

By pulling the tab further, it reveals the third or top tier. On this I added the word "Boy" using the Alphabet Flags die set.

Birthday Triple Tier Slider

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card using dies and papers from Divinity Designs March Release.

This month Divinity Designs has released a Triple Tier Slider Card with Layers die set which is what I used to create my card today. I used papers from the new Watercolor Paper Collection to decorate my card. As the papers feature beautiful bold flowers I kept the decorations to a minimum and I wanted the focus to be on the flowers.

As the name of the die suggested, this card had three layers. for the larger panel, I added the sentiment "Happy" from the Happy Stamp/Die Duos die set. This is layered using the Double Stitched Pennant Flags die set.

When you pull the tab at the top of the card, it reveals the middle tier of the card. I added the "birthday" sentiment to this panel using the Celebration Words die set which is layered using the Sentiment Strips die set.

By pulling the tag a little more it reveals the final tier. This tier reveals the "to you" sentiment which is also from the Celebration Words die set.

Birthday Girl!

Lala-TripleTierSlider-wm

Hi everyone,

Recently at a stamp club I attend each month we created Triple Tier Slider Cards … I haven’t made one of these in over three years so it was fun to revisit this style of card.

For my card I used La La Land Crafts Dress Up Marci.

Here is my slider card with the second tier showing. I added a birthday sentiment to this piece.

And finally here is my card with the third tier showing. These are such fun to create … hopefully I won’t wait another 3 years before I make another one Smile

Who’s That Birthday Girl????

MFT-Birthday-Girl-tier-slid
Hi again,

I have another MFTeaser to share with you today, this time using the new WTG set for this month, which is called “Who’s That Birthday Girl?” This set along with all the other stamps to be released this month will be available from MFT Stamps after the release party tonight, Wednesday 3rd March.

This is a fun set …. besides having the girl carrying the birthday cake, there are a number of different sentiments included in the set. Also birthday candles in the shape of numbers so you can create an aged birthday card for whatever age your heart desires. Normal candles to add to the cake and some more tiers for the cake.

Recently when I was checking out the new blog posts in my Google reader I came across a post by Heather Summers on how to create a Three Tier Slider Card … well as soon as I saw this it reminded me of the cake the girl is holding and of course I had to create one myself. I adapted the measurements to suit my image and stamps as hers is much smaller then mine … but they are easy enough to adapt for whatever purpose you want.

For my top photo you can see the card closed. I paper pieced both the cake and the dress. I added the candles “3” & “4” to the top of the cake. My eldest DD is turning 34 this year so I will probably give this to her.

Here is my slider card with the second tier showing. The sentiment used in the second tier is from the new “Clearly Sentimental about Birthdays” set which is another of the sets to be released tonight.

And finally here is my card with the third tier showing, see how it looks like the three tiers of the birthday cake the girl is holding!

Don’t forget to visit Kim’s blog any time after 11AM EST to get the list of which Design Team members are also featuring this set on their blogs today.
