You're a Star

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week as challenge hostess for April, I finish off the month with one last challenge.

The 28th April was National Astronomy Day, for our challenge this week create a card / project which includes stars in some way.

When I first started thinking about my card, I was thinking about doing an space theme, but in the end I decided to play with a Penny Black Hedgehog Stamp set I purchased recently.

As you can see I have created an accordion card, this time round I went with a combo accordion using the Star Accordion Card die set and the Circle Accordion card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

When I first created this card I had stamped a birthday greeting on the centre circle panel. Then my DH and I went shopping on the north side of town, and on the way to the shop we were going to we did a slight detour to visit a scrapbooking store where I found the "You're A Star" die as I thought it might be useful and of course I had to use it on this card.

I die cut the sentiment from black card to which I applied Transparent Double Sided Tape to the front of the card so the sticky was on the front, then I covered it with Elizabeth Craft Designs Silk Microfine Glitter .... love this look!

I also added the star border which was also glittered the same way as the sentiment and added this to the right side edge on both sides of that page.

On the right hand page I added the Paris Edges panel and added the letters "H B 2 U"

Here is my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

What a fun and creative (no surprise there, then!) way to use stars! Love the stars in the card base, but that starry border is also really lovely!
