All Aboard

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Train Easel Card that I created for my husband's birthday. It was such fun to make!

This card uses Anna Griffin's Antique Train Slimline Easel die set. I had been looking for this die set for ages, and unfortunately Anna Griffin doesn't sell to international customers and Scrapbook dot com didn't stock it either. Finally I checked eBay and found a seller there who was selling it new, so I took the opportunity to get it while I could.

I die cut the train from blue pearlescent cardstock and also gold and paper pieced the gold into the holes in the blue train. I die cut the easel portion from a smoky blue cardstock and then covered the base with patterned paper.

I used two stamps from Kanban's Patchwork Pals Grandpa's Trains stamp set, to create the train driver and the boy's face in the carriage.

For the stopper to keep the easel portion of this card upright, I used a Train Track Border Die set from Taylored Expressions.

The train signals and "All Aboard" sentiment, are all from Karen Burniston's Train Elements die set.

I had recently purchased a train wax seal stamp, which I also wanted to use. As it didn't look right on the front of the card, I decided to add it to the base. I can't be seen unless you open the card, but that is ok.

Here is a close up of the wax seal. I'll also add a wax seal to the envelope.

I die cut the train shadow die from white cardstock, so I could add to the back of the card. This gave me a place to stamp a sentiment and also write a personal greeting. I also added two images from the Kanban stamp set that I used on the front of the card.

Carousel Easel Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Thanks for dropping by my blog today. A few months ago, I noticed that Scrapbook dot com had started selling some Anna Griffin products. One of the things on their website was this fun Carousel Easel Card die set which I decided to purchase so I could make a card using the set for my granddaughter's birthday which is this month.

I die cut the base of the card from white cardstock and also patterned paper, covering the cardstock with the patterned paper layers. I die cut the carousel decorator pieces from gold, and two shades of peach cardstock and used these to decorate the carousel.

I added pink pearls to the top and bottom of the decorate carousel.

The finished card fold flat and measures 5 inches x 7 inches, so fits easily into a 5 x 7 envelope.

On the base panel, I used Waffle Flower Craft's Radiating Circle Frame die to add two sentiments. I cut the circle frame in half and added one portion of the circle to the front of the card to add as a stopper to keep the easel upright. I then added the other a little further back so that there is a gap between the two so I could add another sentiment. I gold embossed both sentiments to match all the gold included in the card.

I added some flowers along the front of the circle using a floral die set from Spellbinders.

I added a circle panel to the back of the easel panel, so I had a place to write a personal greeting when needed.

Miss You

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lynn McAuley our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off the month with one last challenge.

The rose is the national flower for June while the pearl is June’s gemstone. Lynn is asking the CCEE Stampers to include both of these beauties on their card for this week’s CCEE Challenge!

I was asked recently if I would make a "Miss You/Thinking of You" card for a friend to send to a mutual friend. As I knew I needed to make my rose themed card, it was an easier request to fulfill.

I pulled out my Pinkfresh Studio Garden Roses Stamp, die and stencil set to create the roses on my card. I used inks from Catherine Pooler Designs to colour the roses.

For the background of my card I used my new Anna Griffin Matelasse Slimline Embossing Folder. I have been after this embossing folder for ages, but up until now it has been impossible to get sent to Australia. When I saw it was for sale on the Scrapbook.Com website I had to order it immediately. It does come in a set of 4 Slimline Embossing Folders.

I added the "Miss You" sentiment to the right side of the card using Honey Bee Stamps Miss You Big Time Stamp/die set.

To finish my card I added some Matte Silver Metallic Pearls which I almost forgot.

For the inside of my card, I added a few more roses around the edges of my card. I also added the "Thinking of You" sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps Thinking of You Big Time stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
