All Aboard

 

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Train Easel Card that I created for my husband's birthday. It was such fun to make!

This card uses Anna Griffin's Antique Train Slimline Easel die set. I had been looking for this die set for ages, and unfortunately Anna Griffin doesn't sell to international customers and Scrapbook dot com didn't stock it either. Finally I checked eBay and found a seller there who was selling it new, so I took the opportunity to get it while I could.

I die cut the train from blue pearlescent cardstock and also gold and paper pieced the gold into the holes in the blue train. I die cut the easel portion from a smoky blue cardstock and then covered the base with patterned paper.

I used two stamps from Kanban's Patchwork Pals Grandpa's Trains stamp set, to create the train driver and the boy's face in the carriage.

For the stopper to keep the easel portion of this card upright, I used a Train Track Border Die set from Taylored Expressions.

The train signals and "All Aboard" sentiment, are all from Karen Burniston's Train Elements die set.

I had recently purchased a train wax seal stamp, which I also wanted to use. As it didn't look right on the front of the card, I decided to add it to the base. I can't be seen unless you open the card, but that is ok.

Here is a close up of the wax seal. I'll also add a wax seal to the envelope.

I die cut the train shadow die from white cardstock, so I could add to the back of the card. This gave me a place to stamp a sentiment and also write a personal greeting. I also added two images from the Kanban stamp set that I used on the front of the card.

All Aboard Crafty Friends,

It's the time many of you have been waiting for. Today starts the sneak peeks of Karen Burniston's newest release which will be available for sale early in July.

For my card today I used the new Train Pivot Panels die set which is the perfect die set for kids, boys and those men in our lives who love  model trains. My husband is a model train enthusiast, so I know I will get lots of use out of this die set.

To decorate my card I added the train tracks from the Train Elements die set along the bottom of the card. 

I added clouds from the Outdoor Scene to the top of the pivot panel.

The sentiment is from a stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps stamped and layered onto an oval from the Crosshatch Ovals die set.

On the right hand side of my card I added the signal also included in the Train Elements die set. I extended the bottom of the signal so it was a little higher up in the card.

For the front of the card, I added another train track, signal and the "All Aboard" sentiment which are all from the Train Elements die set.

Happy Birthday Full Steam Ahead

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Amy Ottmers our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently today is Train Day, so for our challenge we were to add a "Train" to our card or project.

I have had this train digital stamp from Little Miss Muffet for some time so I decided I would use them for today's challenge. It's been a while since I created a Double Z Fold Card so as you can see that is what I made.

Along the bottom of the card I used the Train Track Border die from Taylored Expressions. The sentiment on the right hand side of the card is also from Taylored Expressions. The other two are from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

When I had finished the card I decided to add the train driver and conductor included in the Taylored Expressions stamp set.

Here is a look at my card when it is closed ready to be placed in the envelope. One thing about digital stamps is you can mirror image the images which is what I did for the cake so that you could see the image when the card was either open or closed instead of the back of the white card.
