A Birthday Wish

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week Shirley Quarry, continues to issue fun challenges.

Our challenge this week is Let's repurpose something. We all have bits and pieces of things we have saved in our stash for those "just in case we need it moments".

For my card today I have created a Circle Spiral Pull Card using the new die set Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs which will be available to purchase in stamp stores in mid July. This die so so fun and there are so many things you can do with it.

To decorate my card I used a couple of Bebunni stamp sets.

On the inside of my card I have created the spiral part of the card using recycled acetate I was saving for when I needed some acetate. I die cut various colored balloons using the balloon dies included in this die set as well as a larger balloon die from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Balloons (726) Die set.

Miss You

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing another card using the Circle Spiral Pull Card & Clock and Gears Set which were designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs and which will be available in mid July.

I die cut the clock face using White Shimmer Sheetz and the hands of the clock were cut using black Shimmer Sheetz. The numbers are actually cut into the clock so when you attach it to your card the numbers show the color of the card underneath.

I cut the spiral portion of the card using black card and attached it to the “flip side of the circle and the right side of the card. I cut a heap of the gears from white Shimmer Sheetz and attached them onto the spiral.

At the top and bottom of my card I added thin black tape.

Summer Fun!

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time again over on the Riley and Company blog. This time round it is Sandye’s turn to host the challenge.

Our challenge this week is Celebrate Summer!

For my card this week I decided to use the new Circle Spiral Pull Card Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs which is going to be available in stores in mid July.

I used Riley and Company’s Waterslide Riley to decorate my card.

This die comes with a spiral piece that you can use when you open the card, however for my card today I decided not to use it. That is the fun thing about this die, it gives you options on how you use it.

One each side of my card I cut two pieces of blue and orange card using one of the edges from the Agatha Edges die set, layered this and adhered them to the sides.

More Strawberries 2 Stamp

Hi everyone,

The Stamps of Life are releasing three new stamp sets today…. more strawberries2stamp;

Today I am featuring cards using the morestrawberries2stamp and strawberries2stamp stamp sets. This stamp set coordinates with strawberries2stamp and the matching die set which were this months club stamp set and die hard club set. If you aren’t a member of the die hard club you will need to wait til the 21st July before you can order the coordinating die set.

For my first card today I have used the morestrawberries2stamp stamp set along with the Sizzix Triple Fancy Label Flip-its Framelits set. For the flower on this card I used the Sizzix Circles & Tags Framelits set.

Here is a view of the ‘flip’ side of my card. I have left the centre panel on the back blank so that I can write a message to whoever I decided to give this to.

For my second card today I have created another flip-its card this time using the Sizzix Elegant Flip-its Card Die Set. To decorate my card I used the morestrawberries2stamp and strawberries2stamp stamp sets along with the coordinating die set.

Here is the ‘flip’ side of my card, I added a sentiment from the morestrawberries2stamp stamp set.

And finally for my last card today I used the morestrawberries2stamp stamp set and placed them inside a jar. The jar is from the Sizzix Jar Framelits die set with stamps. The striped patterns on the strawberries are from one of the strawberry stamps in the morestrawberries2stamp set.

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone,

I am using more of the new dies being released this month by Elizabeth Crafts Designs to create a Christmas Card.

The dies I used for this card are the Candles Die (919) and the Merry Christmas Die (944). The oval was created using the Oval Accordion Die designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs. The Merry Christmas is a normally straight, but the great thing about dies is that sometimes you can bend the die cut piece a little so it can fit where you need it.

For the candles I used Double Sided Adhesive and Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter for the candle and drip. For the flame I used Yellow & Orange Shimmer Sheetz. I added Gold Glitter Dots to each of the corners of my card.

Hope Your Birthday is a Blast!

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month we have a new challenge hostess which is Mwah! That’s ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since yesterday was the 4th of July our challenge this week is to Use the colors Red, White and Blue to create your card. It does not have to be a patriotic card.

As you can see I have created an Accordion Card using the Ring Accordion (904) designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs, this die should be in your stores by mid July.

I have been wanting to do a space themed card using this die for a while now (it was actually a suggestion from a couple of friends) … not sure if this is what they had in mind, but this is what I created .

I used the Out of This World Stamp set from There She Goes, unfortunately this company is out of business now, but there are a ton of other space themed stamps which would work with this.

I used the stitched lines in the die to decorated the outer rings of the accordion and also added some stars which are also stamped in white.

And here is the card all closed up ready to pop in an envelope to give to someone.

First up Happy 4th July to my US friends, I hope you all have a great day … to everyone else … have a great day too .

For my card today I am sharing some of the new Karen Burniston’s dies being released by Elizabeth Crafts Designs this month. The dies should be in the stores mid July so watch out for them!



As you can see this is a pop up card using Karen Burniston’s new Lorna Label Pop-Up die set. If you look at the photo below which is the label included with the dies, you can see how the die normally looks on a card. For my card however I have actually turned the die upside down so that the large label part of the die could be the frozen ice floating in the ocean. For this portion of the card I had die cut just the pop up section only using Double Sided Adhesive Paper and card and then covered it with Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and attached that over the existing pop up piece on the card.






I have added Chilly the Penguin (908) to the rectangle pop up piece at the back of the card. As you can see I have been having fun cutting Chilly with both the positive and negative pieces when you die cut the penguin from Black and White Velvet Adhesive Sheets  so you get two different looking penguins … I also used the Props 1 (911) die set to add the hat and bow to each of the penguins.

The speech bubble used for the sentiment is another of the accessory dies which comes with the Lorna Pop Up Die set … cool ha! The snowflakes are from yet another new die set called Circle Spiral Pull Card (916), this is another cool die set which I will share with you soon. I added Silver/Clear Glitter Dots to the centres of the snowflakes.



For the front of my card I combined the dies from Karen’s new Outdoor Edges (914) with the Agatha Edges die set to create my  snow scene. I have again die cut using Double Sided Adhesive Paper and card and then covering it with Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter after it was die cut. I colored the trees using copics.

Hello My Friend!

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month we have a new challenge hostess which is Shirley Quarry. Shirley is no longer on the Design Team, however she did create her challenges prior to leaving the team, so of course we are using them .

Since this is the 4th of July week in America, we surely need to make a red, white and blue card. Since everyone does not live in the U.S., it does not have to be a patriotic card.

For my card this week I created a Flip-its card using the Sizzix Regal Flip-its Card Framelits set. To decorate my card I used The Stamps Of Life Phone4you stamp set and coordinating phone die set.

Here is the ‘flip’ side of my card. On the right hand panel I used the Sizzix Borders Thinlits die set.

Hi everyone,

Being the beginning of the month it is time for the July Club Stamp set to be released from The Stamps of Life. This time round the stamp set being released is called strawberries2stamp. If you are a member of the “Die Hard” club you will also receive the coordinating die set, otherwise you have to wait until the 20th of the month to order this set.



For my first card to share with you today I have created a Stand-ups card using the Sizzix Circle Stand-Ups Bigz die.



I added two of the sentiments from the set onto my card, the lower one you can see when the card is displayed in the “stand-up’ position and the other when you open the card. I have also added a couple of “strawberry flowers”, the flowers were created using the tiny flower from the Sizzix Circle & Tags Framelits set, the leaves are included in the Strawberry die set.



Here is my stand-ups card in the closed position ready to be placed in an envelope.



For my second card today I created a flip-its card using the Sizzix Ornate Flip-its Bigz die and the Sizzix Ornate #5 Labels Framelits. I have again used the Sizzix Circle & Tags Framelits set to create the tiny “strawberry flowers”.



Here is the ‘flip side’ of my card. I added the birthday sentiment which is included in the strawberries2stamp stamp set.



For my final card today I created a bowl of strawberries. To create the bowl I used the largest die from the Sizzix Decorative Labels Framelits Set. I cut off the points on either side of the label and then trimmed the top part of the label to a curved shape (you could use a plate to give you the curve shape). Finally I embossed the “bowl” the Sizzix XO Embossing Folder.

To create the strawberries I used the larger of the two strawberry dies and die cut the strawberries from designer paper and the green stem from green card.

For the sentiment on either side of my card. I cut one of the sentiments apart and used one of the fishtail banners from TSOL Sampler Die Set.

Wishing You A Meowy Christmas!

It’s time for another CHF challenge over on the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog . This week the challenge is hosted by Kristine Reynolds.

This time round Kristine has asked us to create a card/project with a Summer Celebrations theme ...like weddings, birthdays, Fourth of July...any summer celebration.

So I guess you are all wondering why I have a Christmas card when the challenge is summer celebrations right! Well I live in Australia and for us Summer is in December and my favorite Summer celebration is Christmas … so I decided to create a card using my summer as the theme.

For my card I used Cornish Heritage Farms 3 Christmas Kittens Digital Stamp to create a stand –up card using Sizzix Royal Stand-Ups Card Framelits.

The sentiment I created using my computer.

Here is my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.
