Hope Your Birthday Is A Hit

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to our May Paper Pros challenge. This month our challenge is hosted by me, and I challenged everyone to .....

Back to Basic Shapes - Many of Karen’s die sets contain the name of a basic shape in it .... Oval; Circle; Square & Rectangle etc. Use at least one die set that includes one of those shapes in it’s name for your card.

I decided to create another Rockin' Rectangle Pop-up card using the acetate window on the front. You can find Karen's tutorial on how to create this style of card here.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

I have purchased a couple of different record themed stamp and die sets this year and I have had this idea brewing for a little while. Vinyl Records & Record Players have become very popular in recent years.

For the background of my card I used used the large vinyl record stamp from SugarPea Designs Greatest Hits Stamp set, stamping the records using black ink and then stamping the inner section using colors of the rainbow.

For the record player I used the coordinating dies to the stamp set. The rectangle panel included in the Rockin' Rectangle Pop-up die set was too long for the mechanism to work properly turning the rectangle on it's side, so I used Hero Arts Infinity Rounded Rectangle dies putting the card back into the die to make the length a little bit shorter.

I added a sentiment to the left side of the card.

I created a border of smaller records which I added to the side panel on the front of the card.  The easiest way to get these even was to adhere them to a black piece of cardstock the same length as the card, lining up the edge of the records with the edge of the card. I then trimmed around this and added half records to the back to the portion that would be seen through the acetate when the card was opened.

To finish off the card, I added a birthday sentiment.

Buzzin' With New For You!

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  As challenge hostess for December I am continuing to issue the challenges. Today is our final challenge for 2018 as we are all taking a break so we can spend time with our families. We will be back next year with lots more fun challenges to play along with!

For our challenge this week we are creating a card using your favorite "Crazy" sketch from our 2018 sketches.

As you can see I am  taking a break from Christmas cards today. I decided to use our May Sketch C4C435 to create my card today.

I have used Honey Bee Stamps Build a Bee Clear Stamp set as well as one of their stencils from the Hexagon Layering Stencils to create the background.

I used an older "bee" themed sentiment, masking one row so I could white emboss the sentiment. I used Honey Bee Stamps new Banner Builder die set to die cut the sentiments. I think I will be getting a lot of use out of this die set as it gives many options of die cutting a sentiment.

As you can see I have created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I again created the background panels using the Layering Hexagon Stencil and Distress inks.

To decorate my card I used sentiments from The Stamps of Life and more of the bee images from Honey Bee Stamps.

Here is another photo of the inside of my card taken at a different angle so you can see the pop-up piece of the card a little better.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Don't Worry Bee Happy

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am playing with some of the new animation stamps and dies from Motion Crafts by Uchi's Design that were released recently ... I just love playing with anything interactive and these are so much fun!!!

For my card today I have used the A2 Double Slider Animation Card die set along with the Bee Happy Animation Stamp/Die set which contains animated and normal images in a bee; frog and duck as well as sentiment to go with each image.

Here is a quick video to show my card in action.

I created the background for this card by sponging Fossilised Amber Distress Oxide ink over over the front of the white piece of cardstock I used for the base of this card. I then die cut the Elizabeth Craft Designs Honeycomb die using release paper to create a stencil and layed the stencil over the cardstock and sponged Wild Honey Distress Ink over the top. I then added the black flight lines which is from The Stamps of Life Bee4Me stamp set.

To create the Double Slider Card I used the die set and followed the instructions on this Motion Crafts by Uchi's Design video.

After I had constructed my card I decorated it using Elizabeth Craft Designs Small Flower set and the Trio of Leaves die sets. I also added Nuvo Drops to the centres of each off the flowers.

For the sentiments I used the "Bee Happy" from the stamp set and also the "Don't Worry" masking off the "be happy" on the second line of the sentiment. I also added the "Pull Here" sentiment to each of the slider panels using a stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

For the inside of my card I added a rectangle panel and added a "bee" themed sentiment which is a sentiment I have had in my stash for years. I also added one of the cute bees from the Motion Crafts by Uchi's Design stamp set.

You are so Awesome

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another card I created using Gina K Designs Wreath Builder kit I received earlier in the month. The wreath builder is such fun as it allows you to create awesome patterns on either 4 inch or 3 3/4 inch square of cardstock using the wreath builder stencils included in the kit and a MISTI.

This time around I used one of the circles included in the stamp set to create my "wreath" which creates an awesome pattern.

I decided to stamp the circles in rainbow colors and as I needed to stamp 8 times and there are only 7 colors in a rainbow I added pink to the mix.

I added a sentiment to the centre of the card using Color in Sentiments from Right at Home.

For the inside of the card I stamped another set of 8 rainbow circles and then added another sentiment directly over the top ... this sentiment is from The Stamps of Life.

Wheely Great Friend

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lois Bak our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently today is Bicycle Day. Put a bicycle on your card. If you don’t have a bicycle, use anything with wheels.

For my card today I decided to pull out Lawn Fawn's Bicycle for You and Waffle Flower's Pull Tab die set to create a pull tab card.

Here is a short video to see my card in action.

To create the hillside the little girl is riding on I used Lawn Fawns Stitched Hillside Borders and Little Picket Fence Border die sets. I colored the hillside using Catherine Pooler inks.

For the sentiments I used stamps from The Stamps of Life Bicycle2stamp Clear Stamp set.

Because the bike is a fairly long image, I cut two tabs into the sliding tab part of the card so that each wheel could be attached. This was fairly simple to do by just placing the cutting plate just short of the end of the die when I die cut the second tab.

As I had some images left over, I created another scene on the inside of my card and added two more sentiments.

You're How Old?

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Our challenge hostess for the month, Vicky Gould continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently today is National Goof Off Day, so for our challenge this week we are making funny cards.

I hope this is funny enough!

I was going to use one of my Art Impressions stamp sets as they have a number of humorous stamps, but then I remembered this funny birds from Sparkle N Sprinkle I purchased from a craft show late last year and hadn't used as yet. So as you can see that is what I ended up using.

I haven't made a flip-its card for some time, so I pulled out the Fancy Edge Flip Its die set which was exclusive to the Stamps of Life.

I stamped each of the bird stamps in the sets at least once, the blue bird was stamped three times the third being stamped as a mirror image so I could attach it to the back of the one adhered to the top of the centre square panel, I didn't want to see a white background of the bird when the card is opened. The third blue bird is visible when the card is opened, however it hides behind the other two blue birds when the card is closed.

The short stubby bird on the lower right hand side normally has long legs, but I ended up cutting them off and attaching them behind the bird so that you could see most of the bird when the card was closed.

I added both sentiments from the stamp set and a third the longer one on the top left hand corner of the card which is from another stamp set from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Keep On Rockin'

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I have a Pop-up Box card to share with you today, using the Lawn Fawn Scallop Box Card Pop-up die. To decorate my card I used images from Mama Elephant's Rock and Paw Clear Stamp set.

Here is a side on view of my card so you can see the right hand side of the box.

I just love these cute little musicans ... aren't they just adorable.

I also added a die cut music border towards the back of the box card.

On the back of the card I added a sentiment and music notes from a stamp set from The Stamps of Life.

Here is a view of my card when it is folded flat so it can be popped in an envelope.

What's the Buzz?

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Anne Harmon our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

For our challenge this week, Anne has given us the theme .... Insects - make a card using bees, dragonflies, any kind of insect. Be sure to add stickles to their wings (if they have wings!)

I had originally made another card for this challenge, but then when I had finished the card I looked at it and decided that it would also work for a challenge I have on Saturday and as it was easier to make another card for this challenge I decided to create another card for this challenge. Both cards using the same main image as I had printed out some digital stamps I had saved from a few years ago and I had die cut one inside the circle (this one) and the other cut out around the body as I had intended to adhere one over the other until I discovered that they were different sizes ... oops. But as I had already colored this one, I figured I might as well make use of the image rather than waste it.

For my card today I created a Shutter Gatefold Card using the Nellie Snellen Magic Card Round die set. When you open the card the circle at the centre top opens up.

I created my own background papers for this card by sponging Fossilised Amber Distress Oxide ink over each of the white panels. I then die cut the Elizabeth Craft Designs Honeycomb die using release paper to create a stencil and layed the stencil over the panels and sponges Wild Honey Distress Ink over the top. I then added the black flight lines which is from The Stamps of Life Bee4Me stamp set.

Here you can see my card fully opened up. I added a beehive to the bottom centre of the card and also added a bee to the back of the fishtail flag on the lower right hand side of the card.

I added White Blizzard Glitter Nuvo Drops to all of the wings.

One final photo showing the card when it is closed laying on  my desk.
