#Happy Birthday

iPhoneBday1-wm

Hi everyone,

My card today is a card I created a few weeks ago to give to my daughter for her birthday. I have had the “Smart Phone” die and stamps for a few months now and I have been wanting to use them on a card and figured this was the idea time.

Normally when I create a pop up card I start with the inside and do the outside last, but for this card I started with the front as I knew I wanted to include the Smart Phone (although I am calling it an iPhone of course hehe) on my card and it was too tall to fit on the inside of my card so it had to go on the outside.

For the inside of my card I used the Lucy Labels Pop-Up Card die set designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs. This was going to look totally different to what it does now, but when I was done I didn’t really like it and started thinking what phone related stamps do I have and remembered the Art Impressions Texting BFFs and as luck would have it, it just fits in my card,  without it poking out the top of the card when it is closed.

I used one of the edges from the Agatha Edges die set to create the shaped edge at the top and bottom of the inside of my card. I also used the same die to cut the edge from dark pink card which I placed behind the designer paper before adhering the inside to the card base.

The labels on the bottom panel of my card were created using two labels from the Katie Label Pivot Card die set … I left this blank (other than the phones) so that I could write my greeting to my daughter.

Here is a side view of my card. As the “Texting Bffs” is such a tall image I added a stabilising pop up box near the top of the image to top it floppy around. This is easy to do by just cutting a strip of card the width you need by 2 1/2 inches and then scoring at 1/2inch intervals and then gluing this together to form an open box. Adhere the box to the back of the image and the back of the card.

Stamps: LLD Friend Request – MFT Stamps; Texting BFFs – Art Impressions; Birthday Messages – Simon Says Stamp; Insta – Kelly Purkey for Simon Says Stamps
Paper: White; Pink; Dark Pink; You Are My Happy DP – Teresa Collins
Dies: Lucy Label Pop-Up; Agatha Edges; Katie Label Pivot Card – Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs; MFT Die-namics Smart Phone
Other: Black Ink; Foam Tape; Copics

This is a really "current" card. Your daughter will love it. Two questions:
1. Is the phone a stamp or die cut?
2. What is the hashtag? Did you emboss a stamp image, a die, maybe chipboard?
Love it!!!
