Pand-tastic Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Lois Bak our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently the third week of July is National Zookeeper Week. For our challenge this week we are to create a card with a zoo animal on it.

As you can see, I decided to use the Panda as my zoo animal.

As you can see I have created another Slimline card, I am loving the extra width in the card when creating a scene.

I used Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Card Panels and Windows die set for the panel for this card, for the grass I used Trinity Stamps Scenic Border die set. I die cut the pieces from white cardstock and used inks and a blender brush to color the panels.

I decorated the scene using Mama Elephant's Little Panda Agenda stamp set. Panda's love bamboo, so I wanted to incorporate bamboo into my scene. I used Lawn Fawn's Birch Trees for this and colored them to look a little like bamboo. I added leaves to the 'bamboo' using the leaf die from Karen Burniston's Flower Pot Pop-up die set.

In the centre of the card I added Mama Elephant's Big Happy Birthday die set.

I am also enjoying experimenting in what pop-up elements can be included into Slimline cards. Lois Bak created a Slimline card recently where she incorporated the Upsy Daisy Die set, she included the 3 square panels which is what you put in a standard sized card. As we have extra width in a Slimline card I wondered how adding 4 square would work, which what I ended doing here.

I used the Trinity Stamps Scenic Border die set to add the grass and cloud borders to the top and bottom of the card.

To finish the card off, I added two sentiments. The birthday sentiment from MFT Stamps Bitty Birthday Wishes and the Pand-tastic sentiment from Art Impressions.

Here is another photo of the inside of my card, taken at a different angle so you can see the pop-up a little better.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Oh I love that you chose Pandas! One of my favorites - so gentle and sweet! And I'm seeing a cloud die that I am loving for the slimlines ...... do you know if it will work with the lawn fawn one? I think they are the same size ...

It is amazing that each of these little Pandas are doing something different. Your slim line cards give you lots of room for all these charming pandas.
