Fortune Cookie Explosion Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Maryann Einam our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Our challenge this week is ......

According to the days of the year calendar it is Fortune cookie day, use this as inspiration to create an oriental themed card.

For my card today I have used Karen Burniston's new Explosion Pop-up die set. I have made a couple of these a few years ago when Karen first introduced this idea in a video tutorial, but having a die set to create the explosion part makes this style of card so easy!!!! You can see Karen's how to video on how to use this die set here. 

For the challenge part of this card I decided to pull out my Chinese Takeout die set and Good Fortune Clear Stamp set from MFT Stamps. Unfortunately I think these stamps/dies are no longer available, but with a Fortune Cookie Day theme this was the perfect thing for me to use.

I also used the Blocked Parquet die from Tonic Studios Blocked Parquet & Garden Trellis die set. 

Here is another look at my card this time from a different angle. 

For the front of the card I used some of the same elements I used on the inside .... the fortune cookies and the blocked parquet die. I also used Karen Burniston's Crosshatch Ovals die set to layer the fortune cookies.

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  As challenge hostess this month I continue to issue the challenges.

Tomorrow 11th November is Origami Day, let's include something origami related on our cards. It could be a folded shirt, dress, crane, a folded box whatever you like.

As you can see I decided to create an origami shirt which started from a piece of 4 inch x 6 inch designer paper. 

Yesterday I posted a slider card I made for my mother's 90th birthday which is happening later this week using the Circle Accordion Card die set. Today I thought I would play with the Oval Accordion Card die set to create a slider on the front of my card. When you move the card the shirt with move around the oval opening and twist and turn around.

On the inside of the card I created a pop up card using the Happy Birthday Pop Up die set which is designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

As you can see I also added another origami shirt at the base of my card. I used white button brads to simulate buttons of my shirt.

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a card I created a year or so back which I haven't blogged as yet. This is an origami shirt card created from one sheet of card. 

I stamped the map background all over the kraft card using blue ink. I added a pocket, tie and stripes to the sleeves and collar using blue card.

This card opens to reveal a birthday sentiment.

Hi everyone,

After almost two months into the new year, a group of friends I meet up with each month finally got today for a day of chat and some creating. 

My friend Trish taught us how to create this fun origami bow, thanks Trish! 

The card is basically a CASE of a CASE, but I am not sure who first came up with this design as I CASED a card my friend made for us all for Christmas, just with different colourings etc. If you created the original card using this layout, let me know and I will edit my blog post to give you credit.

I added the "happy" using a die cut from white cardstock.

For the inside of my card I kept it fairly simple just added the 'birthday' die cut from kraft card.

Just a quick one today .... it was my turn to provide a make n take at a club I go to recently so as someone had mentioned the month before she wanted to try out dahlia folding, I thought that was a good thing to do for my make n take.

I used the new berry blaze DP which I just love .... I cut my circles at 1 3/8inch and folded them as per the dahlia instructions I found here. I used my swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss my pink panel .... I am sure I will wear this one out hehe! I am not 100% happy with the ribbon I used but it was the closest I had at the time ... I am waiting on some new ribbon arriving and when it does I will probably replace this. I also paper pierced along the bottom edge of the card.

Dahlia Folding

This card is for a challenge I do with my fab/sassy friends on SCS. This particularly idea was a "try a new technique" challenge on SCS recently, at the time I didn't have the opportunity to play as I was busy with other things .... but my fab/sassy friends decided they wanted to include this in for our challenges this month so I have finally been able to get to create one. You will find the instructions on how to create one here.

I used my swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder to create the background of the lavender panel.
