Holding You In My Heart

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Kathleen Adams our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Today is Cancer Awareness Day! So for our challenge we were asked to either make a card for someone who is currently fighting cancer or a card of cheer for someone who has won his or her battle.

For my card today I decided to play with one of my Altenew flower stamp sets and my Altenew Watercolor Pan set I purchased recently. I colored the flowers using two different shades of pink. I added gold paint splatters all over the panel which was die cut using the Wonky Rectangles die set from Simon Says Stamp.

For the inside of my card I decided to create an explosion pop-up using Karen Burniston's Explosion Pop-up die set. I added another of the flowers that I used on the front of the card to the pop up panel.

I used the Crosshatch Ovals for my sentiment which is from a Simon Says Stamp stamp set.

Here is another view of the inside of my card taken at a different angle, so you can see the pop-up a little better.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Smile Like It's Always Spring

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a floral card using a new stamp set I received as an Easter present as I didn't want chocolates. This stamp set is from a Aussie company called Uniquely Creative.

Seeing I have finally found a watercolor cardstock that will work well with Zig Clear Color Real Brush Markers, I pulled out my zigs to color the images .... much better results and they were easy to use with this cardstock. If you are interested the Canson XL Cold Press Watercolor paper.

I wanted to use one of the sentiments from the stamp set, so I die cut the word "Smile" from both black & pink cardstock, layered the sentiments together offsetting slightly so you get a black shadow. I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock and embossed in white and cut off the "smile" which is also on the sentiment.

To finish off the card I used clear and pink transparent crystals randomly over the card.

For the inside of the card I added a sentiment using Avery Elle's Sentimental Too Clear Stamp set and added another flower.

I used A Way With Words - Flourished Oval Frame and Happy Birthday small for the sentiment panel.

Haute Couture

CHF54HauteCouture-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s time for another CHF challenge over on the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog . This week the challenge is hosted by Ann Marie!

This week Ann Marie  has challenged us to Use Watering Coloring when you create your card or project.

I used to types of water coloring techniques to create my card. First off I masked the edges of my water color card for my background. I then stamped the Cornish Heritage Farms French Script using versamark ink, poured clear embossing powder over the top and heat embossed. I then used my Faber Castell Gelatos to water color over the top of the script background. Let this dry and then placed my card under a piece of photo copy paper and ironed over the heat embossing to remove the embossing.

I then stamped the Haute Couture stamp set onto water color card and water colored the image again with Gelatos.
