Class of '19

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Graduation card using some of the new Divinity Designs products from the May Release.

When I saw the Graduation hats (mortarboards), I could see them all being flung in the air once all the graduates have been given their diplomas. So for my card today I decided to create a Waving Pop-up card. The mortarboards are attached to a piece of acetate in the middle of the card so that they move when the card is opened and closed.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

I used the Grad die set to create this card which includes the mortarboard and all the die cut sentiments. I also used the Long and Lean Numbers for the "19" and The Future Stamp set for the stamped sentiments.

Both sentiments were layered using the Double Stitched Ovals and Ovals die sets.

The woodgrain paper is from Divinity Designs Weathered Wood Collection. Each of the woodgrain panels were die cut using the Double Stitched Rectangles die set.

I kept the front of the card simple, seeing the focus is on the inside of the card. I added the Congratulations sentiment which is also from the Grad die set and another mortarboard.

Balloons

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce a new challenge hostess which is me!!!!

Apparently today is "Balloons Around the World Day". So this week let's add some balloons to our card.

For my card today I decided to make a "Waving Pop-Up Card" it has been about 6 years since I have made one of these and I thought it would be fun to make one using balloons.

The balloons are from the new Elizabeth Craft Designs Balloons die set. One of the cool things I found out about this die set is that each of the balloons is symmetrical which made adding a second balloon behind the first so the acetate strip holding the balloon up was super easy. To give each of the balloons a little shimmer I added some Clear Glitter Wink of Stella Pen to them.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

In the photo above you can see how the balloons sit when you first open the card, and then when you fully open the card, the balloons are waving in the air.

I added a couple of "balloon" themed sentiments to my card.

Here is another view of my card when it is open.

For the front of my card I had to play with this cute owl holding a bunch of balloons that I got recently from Unity Stamps ... I just adore this cute owl.

I added a birthday greeting using the Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy stamp and die set.

I also added a few Nuvo Crystal Drops in pink and green to the card.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

MFT-PI-2012-wm

Hi everyone,

I have another couple of MFTeasers to share with you all today in readiness of the MFT Stamps new release, this coming Tuesday 6th December.

Today the MFT Design team are featuring the “Pure Innocence” range, and this month there will be seven brand new Pure Innocence sets to be released … you are going to love them!!!!!! The PI’s to be released include: PI Holly; PI Good Fortune; PI Ice Princess; PI Heart Warmer; PI Cause For Celebration; PI Frosty & Fabulous and PI Precious Little Lamb – Baby Lamb in Manager.

For my first card I used the PI Cause for Celebration stamp set, which I stamped onto the new MFT Die-namics Oval Open Scallop Doily die. For the sentiment I used the new MFT Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome. I actually die cut two of the same mini tabs and stamped the sentiment on each piece and attached to the top portion of my card. I added the caribbean teal twine to hid the join.  I also used the MFT Die-namics crown border die.

This month we have 17 new Riley images and 2 sentiment sets all with a Christmas/Winter theme. We are also introducing a new buddy for Riley …. Percy Penguin which I know you will love!
For my first project today I created a type of pop up card. For the front of my card I used this cute image of Riley and Percy called Riley and Percy - What a Catch! … look at the boot poor Riley caught LOL! I added white liquid applique to the snow and ground to give it a nice snowy feel.
Riley-Fishing2-wm
Here is the inside of my card … it is only partly opened at this stage and you can see the image on the back part of my card, Riley and Percy dancing! In front of this image in the very centre of the card are snowflakes which have been attached to strips of acetate which wave in the air when the card is fully opened.
Riley-Fishing5-wm
Here is my card fully opened … you can now see the snowflakes as they wave in the air and the sentiment that I used on the other panel on the inside of this card, this sentiment is from  Christmas Words 2. The instructions on how to make one of these cards can be found on Valita’s Fresh Folds Blog.
I have created a short video of this card, so that you can see what the card looks like a little better when it is opened.

For my second project today I created a Secret Box which was one of the Holiday Tutorial Blitz on Splitcoast Stampers a couple of week’s ago. For my box I used Percy snow angel … I am just loving this new character!

Here is another view of my box when it is closed, this time from the top of the box.

As you can see the box is opens up diagonally to reveal there drawers. I haven’t put anything in my drawers yet, but I plan on filling these up with a few special gifts to give to a friend at a Christmas breakup we are having today.
