Balloon Birthday Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess, which is ME!

Apparently 5th October was Balloons Around The World Day, for our challenge this week include a balloon or balloons on your card.

For my card today I decided to pull out a few older stamps and dies to create my card.

I adhered blue paper from Lawn Fawn's Watercolor Wishes 12 x 12 paper pad to create the background of my card.

I wanted to use a large balloon for the front of my card, so I pulled out my Elizabeth Craft Designs A Way With Words Big Balloon die set. I die cut the balloon from patterned paper from a Honey Bee Stamps paper pad. I added the birthday sentiment to the top of the balloon.

For the grass I used MFT Stamps Tucked in Turf Vertical die which is the perfect size for a portrait style slimline card.

Finally I pulled out Eureka Stamps Girl Balloon Holder stamp to add to the bottom of the card.

I created a Double Pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up. For the top pop up I added balloons using a die set from Lawn Fawn, die cut from the same patterned paper I used for the balloon on the front of the card.

The girl is another balloon holder stamp from Eureka Stamps.

I added a balloon themed sentiment which is from a Unity stamp set, this is layered using oval dies from Hero Arts.

Merry and Bright

Hi Crafty Friends,

I have another Christmas card to share with you today.  I seem to have been posting a lot of owl cards this month, some have been Christmas and others just because, anyone would think I liked owls LOL!!!!! Oh that's right I do!!!!!

For my card today I am using another owl from Unity stamps. A few months ago when I discovered the Owl with the balloons stamp set from Unity, I also discovered that they had a number of other owls too. Of course it is silly spending postage to Australia for just one stamp set, so I ordered a couple more.  One being this cute "Owl I Want" stamp set. I have finally gotten around to make a card using it.

I added one of the sentiments included in the stamp set on the top left hand side of the card and finished the card off with some Nuvo Drops.

For the inside of the card I added a sentiment and added some of the patterned paper that I used on the front of the card.

Stamps: Owl I Want - Unity Stamps; Jolly Sentiments - Kaisercraft
Paper: White; Red; Green; Perfectly Plaid Christmas Paper Pad - Lawn Fawn
Dies: Stitched Circles; Dotted Scallop Circles; Stitched Fishtail Banners - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Other: Black Ink; Red Berry Nuvo Gloss Crystal Drops; Woodland Green Nuvo Gloss Crystal Drops; Oyster Grey Nuvo Gloss Crystal Drops; Foam Tape; Copics

Balloons

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce a new challenge hostess which is me!!!!

Apparently today is "Balloons Around the World Day". So this week let's add some balloons to our card.

For my card today I decided to make a "Waving Pop-Up Card" it has been about 6 years since I have made one of these and I thought it would be fun to make one using balloons.

The balloons are from the new Elizabeth Craft Designs Balloons die set. One of the cool things I found out about this die set is that each of the balloons is symmetrical which made adding a second balloon behind the first so the acetate strip holding the balloon up was super easy. To give each of the balloons a little shimmer I added some Clear Glitter Wink of Stella Pen to them.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

In the photo above you can see how the balloons sit when you first open the card, and then when you fully open the card, the balloons are waving in the air.

I added a couple of "balloon" themed sentiments to my card.

Here is another view of my card when it is open.

For the front of my card I had to play with this cute owl holding a bunch of balloons that I got recently from Unity Stamps ... I just adore this cute owl.

I added a birthday greeting using the Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy stamp and die set.

I also added a few Nuvo Crystal Drops in pink and green to the card.

September 2017 Karen Burniston Designer Challenge

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to our very first Karen Burniston Designer Challenge for 2017.  I am so excited to be part of this awesome Design Team for Karen Burniston in Cahoots with Riley and Company

Check out Karen Burniston's blog on Wednesday (US Time) when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month, plus Karen will have an amazing video tutorial to share with us all.

For our first challenge Karen has given us the theme .... "Signature Style" Introduce yourself with a card using your signature style, or techniques, or colors. Make a card of any theme.

I must admit that I had to think for a while about what I would do for this challenge, I guess I do have a signature style but mostly I do what I like.

After a bit of thought I figured my card should include an owl, seeing how much I love owls. I  normally try to coordinate any patterned papers I use with the images and of course I LOVE interactive cards.

For the sentiment on the front, I used the largest label in the Katherine Label Pop-up for the white layer. To get the pink layer underneath I die cut the label twice from pink card cut one in half vertically and the other in half horizontally and then layered these pieces behind the white sentiment.

As you can see I have used the Katherine Label Pop-up die set to create my card. Rather than use the labels in the set on the pivot arm I decided to attach my owl directly onto the arm so when the card opens it will go up and down. I added a birthday sentiment to the bottom right hand corner of the card using the Words Set 2 - Birthday die set which is layered onto the labels included in the Katherine Label Pop-up.

As the Owl stamp set I used for my card had this fun sentiment "This isn't just a birthday card .... it's also your gift" I thought this would work well if you wanted to include a gift card in a card. So on the left hand side of the card I added the new Gift Card Label.

One final photo of my card so you can see the pop-up arm and how the owl is positioned on it.

Don't forget to visit Karen Burniston's blog on Wednesday when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

Hi There!

PE20-Unity-Hi-There-wm

Hi There!

It is time for another challenge over on the Pink Elephant! This week the challenge is a sketch challenge.

This week’s sponsor is Unity Stamps Company, the stamp set I used it called Eco Chic which you can find here. The sentiment is from another Unity Stamp set … not sure what the name of that set is.

I used the inverted scallop circle nestabilities for my bottom layer of my circle.

An Owl For You!

Hi I am back again with a card for this week's sketch challenge over on SCS. This sketch was a perfect layout for this owl which I received in the mail the other day from a very good friend of mine ... she knows how much I love owls so sent me a stamp set from Unity Stamps that contained this cute little owl.

Yesterday when I was running an errand for my DH, I stopped of at a stamp store cause I was looking for a reinker I am in urgent need of. Anyway I didn't find the reinker, however I did find a bunch of designer papers that had owls on them ... well needless to say I couldn't leave them in the store now could I! You guys know how much I love owls. This paper is double sided and it wasn't until I was looking through these papers today to see if any would work with my unity owl that I discovered that this particular pattern was on the back of one ..... yahhhhhhh!

I was a bit worried about cutting into it ... but it looks like a brand I can get again so I did. Yeah I know paper is for using not hoarding LOL!
