Elizabeth Craft Designs July Designer Challenge

ECDHouseStandUp-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s time for our June Elizabeth Craft Designs Designer Challenge. Check out the Elizabeth Crafts Designs blog on today at 8AM MST when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

Our theme this month was to use the Elizabeth Craft Designs Stand Up Helpers Dies to create our cards.

ECDHouseStandUp2-wm

For my first card today I have created a Stand Up Card. The main part of the dies uses the Outdoor Edges Die Set with Double Sided Adhesive Paper and Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to create the snowy look on my card. I colored the trees with my copics.

I then added the new Holiday House Die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I again used the glitter technique on the lights, wreath and snowy portions of the roof. I also added Red/Gold Glitter Dots to the wreath.

The snowflakes were then added to my card which are from the All Seasons Tree Die Set and then added Clear Glitter Dots to the centres of the snowflakes.

ECDHouseStandUp3-wm

To create the Stand Up part of the card I used the Christmas Tree from the Stand Up Helpers 2 Die Set and die cut two of these directly onto the green base of my card. I then die cut two more from card/double sided adhesive paper and added Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to these and then colored with copics. Cut along the base of the glittered trees and attached them over the green trees on the base.

The stamped greeting was stamped onto a label from the Lucy Label Pop Up Die Set.

To finish off my card I used the Merry Christmas Stand Up Helper Die and used this along the bottom edge of the base of my card. I extended the stripe of card so that it covered the width of my card.

ECDHouseStandUp4-wm

Here is my card in the closed position ready to be placed in an envelope.

Stamps: Christmas Cottage – Waltzing Mouse Stamps
Paper: White; Red; Green; Jolly By Golly DP – Cosmo Cricket
Dies: Holiday House; All Seasons Tree; Outdoor Edges; Lucy Label Pop Up – designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs; Stand Up Helpers 2; Merry Christmas Stand Up Helper – Elizabeth Craft Designs
Other Elizabeth Craft Designs Products: Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter; Double Sided Adhesive Paper; Clear Glitter Dots; Red/Gold Glitter Dots

The Stand Up Helper Word Dies are not only great for creating Stand Up cards (use the word Stand Up Helper Word Die in place of the Stand Up Tree Die I used in my  Stand Up Card above), they can also be used to add as a sentiment/border along the edge of designer paper. As I had a purple flower left over when I created my Best Wishes Card for a recent ECD blog post which you can find on Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog here, I decided to use that to make my card  today.

In that particular blog post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog, I explained how to use the Stand Up Helper Dies as edges of cards. I am copying and pasting that part of the post in this blog post, but you can see the whole blog post if you want to on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog here.

ECDBestWishes

Cut a piece of card 1 1/2 inches wide by whatever length you need for your particular card. Take the Stand-Up Helper Word die (Best Wishes in the photos above) and position it at the top right hand side of the stripe of card,  about 3/4 inches from the right edge. Cut with you die cutting machine. Cut along the stripe of card where the base of  the letters hit the card (black line on the top right photo). Cut along this line so you are left with just the words attached to the green stripe of card (bottom left photo). Apply some adhesive to the left edge of the designer paper and adhere the paper to the Best Wishes stripe, leaving a small border of card showing (bottom right photo).

ECDFloralBrithday-wm

For my card today I cut my designer paper on the diagonal and then added the Happy Birthday Stand Up Helper Die to the edge of designer paper.

I already had the small flower made from my previous card, so I just needed to create the larger flower which was created using the Crystal Flower Set 1 and Purple Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz for the solid flower and Crystal Flower Overlay Set 1; Double Sided Adhesive ; Lavender Silk Microfine Glitter and Amethyst Silk Microfine Glitter for the overlay flower.

I then added the Flourish with Flowers Die to embellish my flower.

At the top of my card I die cut a Fishtail Label using the label from the Lots of Pops Pop Up Card. To create the dots I die cut some Card/Double Sided Adhesive Paper using the Oval Dots Frame Edges Die to which I then added Lavender Silk Microfine Glitter and adhered them to the fishtail label.

Thanks for stopping by, don’t forget to check out the Elizabeth Crafts Designs blog where you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

Do You Want To Build A Snowman?

CCEE1432Snowman2-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week Shirley Quarry, issues her last challenge as our July challenge hostess.

Our challenge this week is to create a card that is related to a song title.

My Granddaughter, loves the movie Frozen and the song “Do You Want To Build A Snowman?” has become sooooo popular. So I decided to use that for my card this time round.

I love creating Accordion Cards and also combining dies when I make them. This time round I used the Ring Accordion Die Set and the Fancy Label Accordion Die Set  as I wanted to use the snowflake border from the new Fancy Seasons Frame Edges Die Set which goes with the Fancy Label Accordion Die Set. These dies were designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Crafts Designs.

CCEE1432Snowman3-wm

To decorate the first page of my Accordion Card I first die cut a circle using blue/white polka dot designer paper.  To this I added two of the edges from the new Outdoor Edges Die set for the snow, these were cut using card/double sided adhesive paper to which I then added Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

I then die cut all the decorator pieces from the  Elizabeth Craft Designs Snowman Die Set and added them onto the snow ready to decorate the snowman once it was built. The scarf and trim on the hat were die cut using Red Velvet Adhesive Sheet.

I then added snowflakes which are from the All Seasons Tree Die Set.

CCEE1432Snowman4-wm

The sentiment was computer generated and I added two snowflakes to that page which are from the Circle Spiral Pull  Card Die Set.

For the last page of my Accordion Card I created the circle pieces as I did for my first page, but this time I assembled the snowman (which was created using Double Sided Adhesive Paper and Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter).

CCEE1432Snowman-wm

Here is my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

I added Blue/Gold Glitter Dots to the scallop border on the Ring Accordion pages and Clear Glitter Dots on all of the snowflakes.

    Happy Birthday Stars

    SUBirthdayStars-wm

    Hi everyone,

My card today is one I created last month at a stamp club I go to with a few friends. This card is a project given to us all by my friend Trish Myers (thanks Trish!)

This would make a great card for a male, but another friend needed a card for her Mum, so she changed the colors to pinks and greens and it looked fab too!

All products used on this card are Stampin’ Up … sorry not sure from which sets.

    Happy Birthday

    Hi everyone,

It's time for another CHF challenge over on the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog.  This week the challenge is hosted by Irit Shalom.

This time round our challenge is to  use 3 different mediums over your project (like mist/marker/embossing powder or any other mediums).

For my card today I used Cornish Heritage Farms Cat in a Flowerpot Digital Stamp and also one of the sentiments from the Script Essential Expressions sentiment stamp set.

For the challenge part of this card I used texture paste which I colored with a die reinker and used this along with a stencil to create the background on the pink card. I colored the image using copics and also colored the flower pot and bell on the collar using a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.

    Want to play along????

If you would like to play along with us of course we would love to have you!

To play create a card using CHF images. You can use either CHF digi or rubber stamps to create a card or project.... anything you like as long as the stamps are Cornish Heritage Farms. (Yes, they can be older stamps.)

Once you have created your card/project come back here and place a comment with a link to your card/project to this post so that we can see what you created. If you upload your card/project to SCS don't forget to include the keywordCHF57. We can't wait to see what you create!

    Wishing You A Joyous Christmas

    ECDStockingAccord2-wm

    Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Today I issue the final challenge for the month.

Our challenge this week is to create a card with more than one fold.

For my card I used the new Katie Label Accordion card designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs along with the Katie Stars Frame Edges set.

To decorate my card I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Stocking Solid Die Set, I used Double Side Adhesive Paper and Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter for the cuff of the stockings and adding Red Glitter Dots to each of the ends of the cuffs.

For the centre panel I stamped a Christmas Greeting and also decorated the greeting by using parts from the Holly Border Die which I decorated with Clear Glitter Dots.

    ECDStockingAccord-wm

Here is the front of my card when it is folded. I also added the Merry Christmas Stand Up Helper Die which I cut apart to add to the front.

Christmas Candle Circle Spiral Pull Card

    Hi everyone,

It’s my turn to post a card on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today.

Did you know there is only 5 months or 153 days until Christmas! I hate doing the last minute rush of getting Christmas cards made so I like to start in July and get a few made each month so I have a stash of them ready to send out in December. So today I am sharing a Christmas card I created using some of the new Circle Spiral Pull Card (designed by Karen Burniston) and the Candle Die which have both been released by Elizabeth Craft Designs this month.

Here’s how I created my card:

    1. Cut a piece of red card so that it is 8 1/2 inches x 5 1/2 inches. Score the card along the 8 1/2 inch side at 4 1/4 inches. Place the Circle Spiral Pull Card die so that the centre lugs on the die line up on the centre score line of the card and slightly up towards the top of the card. Run this though your Die Cutting Machine.

    2. Die cut the following pieces from the Candle Die Set: 1 Candle Base and 1 Candle Drip from white card that has Double Sided Adhesive applied to it, add Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to these pieces after die cutting. 2 Holly Leaves and 2 Pine Branches from Green card, sponge green ink to Holly Leaves after die cutting. 1 Poinsettia Flower from Red Card; 1 Large Flame from Yellow Metallic Shimmer Sheetz; 1 Medium Flame & 1 Flower Centre from Yellow Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz and 1 Small Flame from Orange Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz.

    3. Assemble Candle as per the photo above.

    4. Attach the Candle to the left side of Red Circle Spiral Pull Card base using foam tape.

    5. Use the Circle Accessory Die from the Circle Spiral Pull Card Die set and cut out a circle from white card. Use the Merry Christmas (944) Die and Red Velvet Adhesive Sheet to die cut greeting. Attach the Merry Christmas greeting to the white card and then add this to the centre circle of base card using foam tape as per photo above.

    6. Place the spiral  die inside the circle die both from the Circle Spiral Pull Card Die set and die cut a piece of Red card.

    7. Apply some glue around the outer edge of the spiral piece you die cut in step 6 and attach this to the other side of the circle panel of the base card.

Next apply glue to the centre of the spiral and close the card and apply pressure for a few seconds until glue has time to dry. Open up card again and the spiral will look like the card in the lower right hand side in photos above.

    8. Die cut 10 Poinsettia Flowers from Red Card; 10 Holly Leaves from Green Card; 6 Pine Branches from Green Card (sponge edges with green ink after die cutting) and 10 Flower Centres from Yellow Metallic Shimmer Sheetz.

    9. Add Yellow Shimmer Sheetz Flower Centres to the centre of each Poinsettia Flower. Adhere a Holly Leaf behind each of the Poinsettia Flowers and then attach the Pine Branches to the back of 6 of the assembled flowers. The first two flowers on the spiral (top left hand side) are single flowers attached to spiral using foam tape. Add 4 more completed flowers along the spiral using the 4 flowers without the pine branch at the back of each flower. (Note: you may need to have the holly leaves on the 4 flowers which are backing the flowers on the spiral in reverse so that they match the holly leaves that can been seen on the front of the spiral).

    10. Die cut the smallest tag from the Tag Die Set from white card and stamp sentiment onto this using black ink. Attach the tag to the centre of the spiral so the hole on the tag is under the flower as per photo above.
    11. Add a striped Designer Paper which is 1 3/8 inch wide to the right hand edge of card.
    12. Add a Green Candy Dot to each of the closures on the right hand side of the card.
    Thanks for stopping by today.

    Get Well Soon

    ECDGetWellSoon-wm

    Hi everyone,

Today I have a Get Well Card I created using the new Elizabeth Craft Designs Rainy Day Die set and the Get Well Soon Stand Up Helper Die.

To create this card I made a top folding card and added a piece of designer paper at the base of the card. Before adhering the designer paper I used the Get Well Soon Stand Up Helper die to create a border which I placed at the top of the designer paper.

I die cut the umbrella from the Rainy Day set twice from designer paper and paper pieced them together. I also cut the rain boots out of two different colored card and layered them together.

For the raindrops I added adhesive paper to my blue card stock prior to die cutting and then used my pricking tool to help left them off the card stock onto my card.

    A Baby Is …

    CCEE1430Baby1-wm

    Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week Shirley Quarry, continues to bring us a fun challenge.

Our challenge this week is a Recipe Challenge … Use 2 circles, 1 oval and two or more octagons (or hexagons/decagons) on your card.

    CCEE1430Baby-wm

I recently popped into a scrapbooking store to pick up something I needed and while I was there checked out the designer papers. I found a new Kaisercraft Baby Paper Pad which had this cute hexagon Designer Paper inside and I knew immediately I had to make a baby card for this challenge and use this paper.

I also recently purchased this cute Bebunni stamp which I have been wanting to play with so of course I grabbed that out of my stash.

I have included the two circles … the one that the bunny image is layered to and the one on the top  right hand side. The oval is the sentiment and the hexagons of course the designer paper. I thought my card needed something else so I found a square button (didn’t want to add any more circles) and some twine.

    CCEE1430Baby2-wm

As you can see I created another pop up for the inside of my card … I love pop ups. This time round I have used the Lorna Label Pop Up designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Crafts Designs, this is one of the new dies which was released this month.

I used another another new stamp on the inside … this time a verse. The “A Baby is” at the bottom rectangle panel is normally the first part of the sentiment, however as it didn’t fit in the label I masked of the sentiment and stamped them separately.

    CCEE1430Baby3-wm

Here is the inside of my card again, this time as a side view so you can see the pop up portion easier.

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

    Envelope Accordion Book

    TSOLEnvyAccordionBook-wm

    Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a little accordion envelope book I created recently using The Stamps of Life’s Envelope Die; Spinner Dies; Spinner2Stamp stamp set and MoreSpinnerIdeas2Stamp stamp set.
This little mini book measures approx. 2 1/2 inches square when closed.

The little birthday images were stamped using the Spinner2Stamp stamp set and then cut out using the coordinating spinner die set. The Spinner is also from the Spinner die set.

    TSOLEnvyAccordionBook2-wm

To create my accordion envelope book I die cut 5 envelopes 3 out of one designer paper and 2 out of the other and then attached each envelope to the next using the flaps to attach at the back.
This measures about 12 1/2 inches long when opened.

Inside each envelope pocket I placed a little note card using the sentiments from the Spinner2Stamp and MoreSpinnerIdeas2Stamp stamp sets.

    Stamps: Spinner2Stamp; MoreSpinnerIdeas2Stamp
Paper: White; Brown; Smoochable DP – Bo Bunny
Other: Black Ink; Antique Linen Distress Ink; TSOL Envelope Die; TSOL Spinner Dies; Hemp Cord; Foam Tape; Copics
