Elizabeth Craft Designs September Designer Challenge

ECDHalloweenTagBagswm

Hi everyone,

It’s time for our September Elizabeth Craft Designs Designer Challenge. Check out the Elizabeth Crafts Designs blog on today at 8AM MST when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

Our theme this month is Fall, Harvest, Halloween.

For my project this month I decided to create some Tag Bags using the new Elizabeth Craft Design Tag & More dies and the Halloween in Frame Peel Off Stickers.

ECDHalloweenTagBag1awm

To create these Tag Bags I started with the Halloween in Frame Peel Off Stickers, white card and Double Sided Adhesive.

ECDHalloweenTagBag1bwm

Cut a piece of white card big enough to fit the three Halloween Frames.  Apply a piece of double sided adhesive to one side of the card.  Lay the liner that you just removed from the adhesive sheet on your table and remove each of the frames from the Halloween in Frame Peel-Off Sticker sheet and place on the liner sheet sticky side up. Lay the adhesive side of the white card down onto the stickers and rub the back of the card so that the stickers transfer from the liner to the white card. Apply Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter over each Frame and polish the glitter into each of the Frames.

Remove excess glitter and use Copic markers to color over the glitter. You can see this technique in more detail in Els’ video which you can find here.

ECDHalloweenTagBag2wm

Cut out each of the Halloween Frames and set aside for later.

ECDHalloweenTagBags3awm

Cut a piece of card which measures 3 1/2 inches by 12 inches. I have decorated my card with designer paper, but that is optional.

Place the tag shaped die from the Tags & More die set at the top of the card and secure in place using removable tape. Place card through die cutting machine.

ECDHalloweenTagBags3bwm

Remove the die from the top of the card and place it at the bottom as we did before and die cut again

ECDHalloweenTagBags4wm

Create the fancy design on both ends of the tag by using the decorator die included in the tag die set .. lining the hole in the die with the hole in the tag you created above.

Use a paper trimmer or craft knife and ruler to cut off the excess edge from creating the tag shape from all three pieces of card.

ECDHalloweenTagBags5wm

Find the centre point of your tag and the measure and score 3/4 inch on either side of the centre point. Fold along both score lines.

ECDSpiderTagBagwm

Cut two pieces of card to match your tag bags that measure 1 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches score 1 inch on both sides of each piece of card. Apply glue to the 1 inch tabs and place these pieces on the side of the tags to create a bag.

ECDPumpkinTagBagwm

Finish off each bag with a piece of ribbon, twine etc.

ECDWitchTagBagwm

Thanks for stopping by, don’t forget to check out the Elizabeth Crafts Designs blog where you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

For my card today I have used Riley and Company’s Popping Pumpkin Riley to create a Flip-its Card.

For the “flip” side of my card I used Riley and Company’s new Funny Bone sentiment “A Fallen Leaf” which was released last week.

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing another card using three new dies which are being released this weekend. The dies here are the new Happy Birthday Pop Up Card; Honey the Bear and Party Props all designed by designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

KBBearyHBdaywm

I am loving these new dies and I am sure you will too! i know I will be using the Happy Birthday Pop Up a lot … we always need birthday cards! And the bear can be turned into a Polar Bear, Panda and more.

KBBearyHBday3wm

Here is a side view of my card so you can see the pop up easier.

The sentiment is stamped and then layered using the labels from both the Katie Label Accordion and the Katie Label Pivot Card. Along the bottom of my card I used the Grass border from the Outdoor Edges set.

Fall Time

C4C255Fallwm

Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week our challenge hostess for September, Danielle Lounds finishes off the month with one last challenge.

It’s Fall in the Northern Hemisphere so the leaves are starting to change color, so for our challenge this week we are to incorporate leaves or a leaf into your project.

For my card today I created a Spiral Circle Pull Card using the die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

To decorated my card I used the cute mice flying around on leaves from Ann-ticipations.

C4C255Fall2wm

I die cut the spiral portion from acetate and then decorated it using the leaves from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Pumpkin Die set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

    Snowman Tag Pop Up Card

    Hi everyone,

It's my turn to post a project on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today.  Elizabeth Craft Designs just released some amazing new products today. You can see all the info of what is being released on my blog pots on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog .

Part of the new release are  3 fun tag sets called Tags & More, which are so much fun and there are so many things you can create using these dies, as I am sure you will see in the coming days/weeks when the other Design Team members share their creations using the dies.

For my card today I am sharing a pop up card I created using the Tags & More - Leaves set.

Here is how I created my card:

    1. Cut a piece of light blue card 3 1/2 inches x 12 inches, a piece of dark blue card 3 1/2 inches x 12 inches and another piece of light blue card 3 1/2 inches x approx 7 inches.

    2. Score the light blue card at 6 inches, fold and then unfold. Place the Lots of Pops Pop Up Die on the centre score line, secure in place using removable tape. Place the tag die at the top of the card and secure in place using removable tape. Place card through die cutting machine.

    3. Remove both dies from the light blue card. Place the decorator die which is included in the tag die set onto the light blue card lining up the hole in the decorator die with the hole created by the tag die and ensuring that the die is even around the curve of the already cut die shape. Secure die in place using removable tape.

    4. Score the dark blue card at 6 inches. Place the tag shape die onto the card as we did previously to the light blue card and secure in place using removable tape. Run both pieces through the die cutting machine.

    5. On the remaining light blue card repeat the steps above to create the tag shape (using both the tag shape die and the decorator die, but not the pop up die.

    6. Use a paper trimmer or craft knife and ruler to cut off the excess edge from creating the tag shape from all three pieces of card.

    7. Fold up the pop up piece on the light blue card ... for this card we are only popping up the main piece not the smaller optional pop up panels.

    8. Adhere the light blue card into the dark blue card. Trim off any uneven edges and if necessary trim the bottom of the card so it is also even.

    9. Adhere the smaller light blue card to the front of the card lining up the top of the card. Trim of any excess length so it is even with the fold of the card.

    10. Die cut two the "eye" shaped hole decorate pieces and adhere these over the hole at the top of the card on the front and inside of the card.

    11. Add some twine or cord through the hole of the top of the card.

    12. Cut a piece of white card and a piece of Double Sided Adhesive Paper that are approx 3 inches x 3 1/2 inches. Remove the release sheet from one side of the adhesive paper and set it aside upside down on your desk (shiny side up). Adhere our Double Sided Adhesive sheet to the piece of white card.

    13. From the Snowman in Frame Peel-Off Sticker Sheet remove the Snowman without the frame, the broom and ornament. Place your pieces sticky side up onto the release sheet that we set aside earlier.

    14. Take your white card and place it with the adhesive side facing down onto the release sheet with the Peel-Offs on it. The Peel-Offs will lift from the release sheet and stick to the adhesive on the card stock.

    15. Turn your card so the release sheet is now on top. Take off the release sheet and make sure not to touch the images on the adhesive.

    16. Cover the adhesive with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and polish with your finger. You can see a video Els created using this technique here. Color your images as desired.

    17. Cut out the Snowman, broom and ornament.

    18. Cut another piece of  white card and double sided adhesive approx 2 inches x 5 inches. Adhere the  Double Sided Adhesive to the card. Use this to die cut the snow die from the Outdoor Edges die set. Remove the protective backing from the adhesive and add Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

    19. Cut the glittered snow edge in half. Adhere one half to the pop up panel as per photo. Add snowman to the pop up panel over the snow. (Note - I adhered the snowman to the panel about half way up). Then add the other piece of snow so it is in front of the snowman. Trim any excess so it is even with the pop up panel.

    20. Decorate the snowman with the broom and ornament. I added twine to the ornament so I could hang it on the twig arm.

    21. Using the snowflakes from the Circle Spiral Pull Card to die cut 7 snowflakes from white card which has been covered by Double Sided Adhesive Paper. Once die cut over each snowflake with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

    22. Use the label die from the Lorna Label Pop Up die set to die cut the label from white card. Sponge edge with blue ink. Stamp sentiment with black ink and adhere label to lower panel of inside of card.

    23. Decorate the card with 5 of the snowflakes as per photo above. To the centre of each snowflake add a Transparent/Gold Glitter Dot.

    24. Die cut 4 photo corners from the Tag Die set from dark blue card. Adhere one on either side to the lower corner on the inside of the card and the remaining two corners to the bottom edges on the outside.

    25. Use the large label from the Katie Label Accordion Card die and die cut a label from white and two from dark blue card. Sponge edges with blue card. Stamp sentiment using black ink.

    26. To create the dark blue layer around the label. Cut the two dark blue labels in half ... one lengthwise and the other widthwise. Trim off the corners so that each half looks like the half labels on the right in the photo above. Adhere the two long labels behind the white label so a small amount is showing and then adhere the remaining two short labels so they appear at the top and bottom of the label.

    27. Cut a piece of dark blue card 5/8 inches by 3 1/2 inches and attach to the front of the card so it will be in the centre of the label when it is attached to the card. Trim off any excess from sides.

    28. Attach label to card using foam tape.

    29. Attach the last two snowflakes to the front of the card using foam tape.
