June 2018 Karen Burniston Designer Challenge

Welcome to our June Karen Burniston Designer Challenge.

Our challenge theme this month is .... The Great Outdoors 

It wasn't hard to figure out what die I would use for this challenge, I have been wanting to play with Karen's new Tent Pop-up die set and this was the perfect opportunity. You can find Karen Burniston's assembly video for this die set here.

I recently have purchased two different camping themed stamp sets, one prior to knowing about this die set and the other because of this die set. I decided to play with the cute Critter Campout stamp set from Sunny Studio. I love that cute bear, that is sleeping in front of the tent.

I added the tiny lantern from the Camping Charms die set to the tree trunk. 

I added a couple of square panels for sentiments using the Squares - Crosshatch die set and added sentiments from a couple of different stamp sets.

Here is a look at my card as it is closing, so you can see how the tent folds up flat in the card.

For the front of the card, I die cut some rectangles using the Rectangles - Crosshatch die set. On the smaller rectangle I added color using Distress Oxide inks to create my sky.

I created a grassy area by die cutting a piece of the designer paper I used on the inside using the Ovals - Crosshatch die set.

I then created a camping scene using some of the images from the Critter Campout stamp set.

For the sentiment, I used the "Hello" die from the new Word Set 6 - Summer die set. Underneath this sentiment I stamped a sentiment from the other camping stamp set I had purchased.
