Hi Crafty Friends,
It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lynn McAuley our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.
Our challenge this week is ..... National Simplicity Day
July 12 has been declared National Simplicity Day in honour of Henry David Thoreau who was a devoted advocate of living a life of simplicity. So on this lazy day of summer, Lynn has challenged us to create a clean and simple one layer card!
I am not a fan of making one layer cards, I know many people make gorgeous cards in this style ... they are just not for me. This is the closest I will get!
For my background I used the Concord & 9th Retro Petals stencil using Catherine Pooler Inks. I then die cut the panel using the largest die from the Dashing Rectangles die set.
The sentiment is a combination of stamps from Honey Bee Stamps and Uniquely Creative.
To finish off the front of the card I added Nuvo Drops to each of the centres of the petals.
No one said I couldn't decorate the inside of my card, I kept it as simple as I could. As you can see I created a pop up card.
To decorate the top and bottom edges of the card I used the Concord & 9th Retro Petals stencil again.
For the pop up I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set adding a sentiment from the Ranger Letter It Birthday Clear Stamp set.
Here is a another view of the card taken at an angle so you can see the pop-up part of the card.
