It's Your Birthday, Let's Go Nuts!

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a birthday themed Slimline Pop-up Card I created recently.

This slimline card is a top folding card, and as I don't have cardstock that long I had to cut two pieces of cardstock and adhere one to the other.

First up I cut a green piece of cardstock that measured 4 inches x 9 1/2 inches which I scored along the long side at 3/4 inches. I then cut a white piece of cardstock so it measured 4 inches x 8 3/4 inches.

Before adhering the two panels together, I blended Distress Oxide ink in Tumbled Glass; Faded Jeans & Chipped Sapphire to create the sky. I then spritzed this panel with water.

I adhered the two together. I cut 5 panels of green cardstock that is 4 inches x 2 inches. I die cut the top of each panel using the grass border from the Nature Edges die set. I then adhered 4 of these panels to the green base card and the 5th to the bottom of the blue card which hides the join of the card.

For the pop up portion of the card I used the Train Pivot Panels die and turned it on it's side. I have done this previously on normal sized cards, but at times the image I wanted to use on the card was too big and would peek out the bottom, so I had to rethink ... which is why I decided to use it for a Slimline card, being long I could use whatever I liked on the top pop-up as long as whatever I put on the card fitted within the 4 inch width.

As I wanted to use Lawn Fawn's Acorn House die set and the Let's Go Nuts Stamp set, I decided to use the Train Pivot Panel pop-up cut in brown and then used a woodgrain stencil to make it look like a tree trunk. I added the Acorn house to the top pop-up and then the squirrels, leaves, nuts etc on the other pop-up panels.

I added Mama Elephant's Big Happy Birthday sentiment to the top of the card, die cutting it from orange and brown cardstock and offsetting it slightly.

Here is a side view of the inside of my card, so you can see the pop-up a little better.

For the front of the card, I repeated some of the elements I used on the inside of the card. The acorn house, squirrels, grass and sky.

I added Honey Bee Stamps Enjoy die to the top of the card and then added the "birthday" sentiment which is from the Let's Go Nuts stamp set.
