Warm Winter Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Tracey Farr our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for a sketch challenge.

For my card today I created the background of my card using Altenew's Layered Snowflake Stars A & B Cover dies. I die cut each of the backgrounds from white cardstock and layered them together. I then adhered them to a panel which had been coloured using Distress Oxide inks on Cracked Pistachio & Peacock Feathers. I then added Glitter Dots Peel Off Stickers to each of the centres of the stars.

For my image I used one of the bears from Mama Elephant's Snow Angles stamp set.

For the inside of my card I created a pop up card using the pop up die from Karen Burniston's Explosion Pop-up die set.

I used the same colors as I used on the front for the base of my card and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink for the back/sky panel.

I die cut another set of Altenew Layered Snowflake Stars A & B Cover dies to add to the back/sky panel.

I used Hero Arts White Puff Embossing Powder to emboss the snow angle pattern and footprints onto the base panel.

I then added the cat, bear and fox over the embossed areas.

I added the "Wishes" sentiment which is an Edge'ables die from Crafters Companion. The two stamped sentiments are also included in the Wishes Edge'ables set.

Happiness is a Cup of Coffee

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is me!

This week it’s all about Color Blocking …. Incorporate this technique onto your card using cardstock

I have a coffee themed card to share today using the July Kit from La La Land Crafts. As you can see I created a pop-up card using the pop-up die from Karen Burniston's Explosion Pop-up die set.

For the background of my card I used MFT Stamps Horizontal Stitched Stripes die-namics die cutting two shades of pink and two shades of brown cardstock to create my color blocked background. After die cutting the panels, I adhered them to a thin piece of cardstock and then stamped the background using Picket Fence Stamps Love of Coffee Background.

After die cutting the pop-up from white cardstock, I then carefully marked and trimmed around the background panels, to fit around the pop-up.

I stamped "Marci" from the stamp kit and adhered her to the pop-up portion of the card.

I added the sentiment and two coffee mugs to the bottom portion of the card. 

Along the top edge of the card I added the "Coffee" sentiment which is also included in the La La Land Crafts kit.

For the front of the card I added the same background that I created on the inside. I also added the coffee pot and mug onto circles as well as a sentiment.

To finish off the card I added some gems randomly around the card and a few hearts.

Mother's Day Explosion Box

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today we are taking a look back at Divinity Designs April Release. For my project today I created a Mother's Day themed Explosion Box using the Explosion Box, Explosion Box Layers & Mini Box die sets. I used papers from Divinity Designs Blushing Rose Collection 6 x 6 paper pad for all the layers of my explosion box. 

To decorate the top of the box I used the heart, flower and leaves from the Festive Favors die set. The "Mother" sentiment is from the Family 1 die set.

To finish off the flowers I added Nuvo Drops to the centre of the flowers.

When you removed the lid of the Explosion Box, it reveals three different layers of boxes with a mini box in the centre of the Explosion Box.

I added the letters "M" & "U" to each of the pink dotted panels around the mini box ... if you look at three of the panels it spells MUM. These letters are from the Long and Lean Letters die set.

I used two of the pockets from the Explosion Box Layers die set, two of the pockets are attached to the layers outer box and the other two pockets are on the centre layers to the opposite side of my explosion box.

Inside the pockets I stamped Mother's Day themed sentiments which are from the Daughter's Best Friend Stamp set. These sentiments were die cut using either the Squares & Scalloped Squares or Rectangles & Scalloped Rectangles die sets.

The bow on the centre Mini Box is from the Test Tube Trio die set.

In the photo above you can see the two pink pockets. I added the "For You" sentiment which is from the Festive Favor die set. 

Here is one more photo of the inside of my explosion box, so you can see the centre pocket a little easier.

Here is a close up look at the sentiments which are tucked inside each of the pockets. These are from the Daughter's Best Friend stamp set.
