Dressed Up Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lynn McAuley our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently today is National Dress Up Your Pet Day. In honor of this grand occasion, feature an animal of any kind dressed up in the clothing of your choice. Add a fun sentiment to cheer up an animal-lover’s day! Brownie points if you share a picture of your pet dressed to celebrate on your blog today! 

Of course I had to pull out my Loralie Designs Agnes stamp set to create my card today .... it was just perfect for this challenge ... if this dog isn't dressed up none are LOL.

As you can see I created a Slimline card using Slimline Dies from Heffy Doodle. For the grass I used MFT Stamps Slimline Grassy Hills Die-namics. The fence is from Honey Bee Stamps Horizon Slimline Borders die set.

I used Picket Fence Studios Slimline Rainbow Stencil to create the background for this card.

For the sentiment I used Mama Elephant's Big Happy Birthday die which I die cut from pink and purple cardstock and offset the purple over the pink for a two tone effect.

For the inside of my card I created a Double Pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. For the sentiments I used two sentiments from The Stamping Village's Happy Birthday stamp set.

I also added the stencilled background panel to both sides of the card.

You Drive Me Happy!

Hi Crafty Friends,

A while ago I found this fun Loralie Art Stamps stamp set on Ebay, seeing how these stamps are so hard to get down here in Australia and I do think they are fun I had to add this one to my stash. I have finally gotten around to using it to make a card.

When I started to make my card today, the only thing I was sure of was that I wanted to play with some of the new Distress Oxide inks that had just arrived. I started by creating a rainbow background, but when I went through my stamps I spied this image and decided to change tact ... I use that rainbow background some other time.

I used the new Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky Distress Oxide inks to create the sky on the background of my card ... I have no doubt I will be pulling out these colors for more sky background in the future.

I die cut the panel using Simon Says Stamp Wonky Rectangles, I also die cut a piece of grey cardstock using the same die and then cut it at an angle to become the road.

I pulled out an older sentiment stamp which works well with the car and added that to the top left hand corner of the card using VersaMark ink and white embossing powder.

I added white gel pen to the girls dress and various other places on the image.

To finish off the front of the card I added some Nuvo Drops.

For the inside of the card I die cut white and grey cardstock using the Wonky Rectangles die set that I had used on the front, again trimming the grey at an angle to replicate the front.

I sponged the two Distress Oxides inks on two different pieces of white cardstock and then die cut the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from A Way with Words from each of these panels and adhered them to the top of my card. I added white gel pen to the bottom 'birthday' sentiment.

This Calls for Cake

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month it's time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is Kelly McKown-Santi.

Apparently today is Spunky Old Broad's Day! So our challenge this week is to create a card/project featuring your favorite sassy ol' gal!

I enjoy the gals from Loralie Art Stamps, these are hard to get these days but I was fortunate to find this one on eBay recently.

I paper pieced the pants; shirt and hat which is something I haven't done for ages, a few years ago we used to do this all the time. I also added Nuvo Drops to the glasses and the flames of the candles.

For the inside of the card I used one of Karen Burniston's new dies, this one is the Spinner Square Pop-up. The present to the right of the sentiment spins behind the sentiment as it is opening and closing. 

As you can see I stamped the birthday girl again and added a few presents around the card.

You're the Cat's Meow!

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As the challenge hostess for the month, I finish off the month with one last challenge.

Apparently tomorrow (27th) is Black Cat Day and Sunday (29th) Cat Day. So for our challenge this week include a cat on your creations … black or not.

For my card today I decided to pull out my Loralie Designs Spice Cats stamp set ... I love these crazy looking cats!!!!

For the front of my card I created a window using circle dies.

For the inside of the card I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set to add the pivot arm to which the circle and cat are attached to. When the card is closed the pivot arm goes down so the cat is seen through the circle window, and then when you open the card the arm brings the cat to the top of the card.

I added a third cat to the top left hand side of the circle window opening.

Here is one last photo of my card taken at a different angle so you can see the position of the pivot arm a little better.

I also added a sentiment which was stamped onto one of the labels from the Katherine Label Pop-up die set.

Rainbow Day

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. It's a brand new month, but I am continuing as challenge hostess this month.

Monday 3rd April is Rainbow Day ... So let's make rainbow cards this week. Note you don't have to include a real rainbow unless you wish .... create a card with multiple colors. It's up to you whether you stick to true rainbow colors or not.



For my card I decided to go with true Rainbow colors .... Red; Orange; Yellow; Green; Blue; Indigo and Violet. I used the second smallest banner from the ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners die set to die cut a banner from each color and then adhered that to card and cut off the fishtail and the stitching from the ends.

For the larger fishtail on the front of the card  used two of the Fishtail Border dies to cut the fishtail edge at the end of the card. I love that you can make your fishtail banner any size you like.

I decorated the tag using the Birthday Beauty stamp set from Loralie Art Stamps.



For the inside of the card I created a pop up card using the Pop it Ups Anita Frames Pop Up which I die cut from white cardstock. For the rainbow panels on the side of the card, I die the same as I did on the front of the card and then cut it down the middle.

Hi everyone,

t’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Barb Anders our challenge hostess for May continues to bring us our challenges.

May's birthstone is the emerald. Let your project strongly feature the color green this week. Any shade of green will do as long as it is the main color on your project.

For my card today, I decided to play with a new stamp set that my DH gave me for Mother's Day (I did pick it myself haha!) I love these fun Loralie Designs images and I think they look great using bright colors.

I created a Pull Card using the Rectangle Pull Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I paper pieced the dogs blouse using designer paper and added transparent glitter dots to the necklace. I think you could say that green was the main color for this card ... hahahaha! I did add a little bit of purple as an accent.

Here is what my card looks like when you 'pull' it open, I added the sentiment Hello and also some flowers on the spiral included in the die set.

Fore! Three Two One ...

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a card I created for a very good friend who celebrated her birthday yesterday! My friend loves playing golf and for as long as I can remember I have made a golf themed card to give to her for her birthday. After all this time she more or less expects it hehe!

I used the Rectangle Pull Card designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs as the base of my card. 

Last year when I was working at the Craft Show, I found this fun Golf themed set from Loralie Designs which I have been saving so I could create her card. I have also combined a few other golf themed stamp sets I have to decorate the card.

When the card is pulled open, it reveals two golfing images on spinners ... the golf ball at the top also has the number "50"as this year my friend is celebrating her 50th birthday.

Along the bottom of the card I used the grass from the Outdoor Edges die set. 

Here is a closer look at the left side of my card. The "speech bubble" on the top left of the card is from the Rectangle Accordion Card die set.

Happy Birthday!

Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Our challenge hostess for August Jessie Rone finishes off the month with another fun challenge!

This week Jessie has challenged us to create a card/project  using Buttons and Bows-use buttons and bows on your card, but you have to use both.

As you can see I have created another Centre Step card using Cheery Lynn Designs Step Card Template Die … love love love this die! I used Loralie Designs Birthday Beauty stamp set.

Hopefully the loopy hemp pieces behind each of my buttons count as bows, if not there are plenty of bows on the presents of the stamps I used hehe!

I paper pieced the girls dress and hat using designer paper.

Here is the inside of my card … I used designer paper for the inside panel and stamped my sentiment and cake image.
