Hi Crafty Friends,

I still have a couple more Christmas cards to share with you that I created this year ... I am slowly getting through them all.

For my card today I have created a Slimline Pop-up card using dies from Scrappy Tails  Crafts. This is a German House ... when I googled German Houses the one I like the best was the cream and brown ones, so that is the colors I used for my card today.

I used the Slimline Birdhouse Pop-up die set to make the base of the card, which includes the house shape and side panels. The windows, door, roof, german house  trims, lamp and Christmas tree are all included in the German and American Christmas House Add-on die set.

The Christmas lights are from the Christmas House Roof Add-on die set. I also used the Slimline Neighbourhood House Add-on to add the chimney to the top of the roof.

The door opens to reveal the sentiment "From Our Home To Yours" which is included in Waffle Flower Crafts A Home Made Christmas Stamp set.

Here is a side view of my card, you can see how the side panels attaches to the back house panel to make this a pop-up card. You could add something to the inner back panel, but I left this one blank.

For the back of the house, I added another brown roof.

I added a Christmas sentiment using Divinity Designs' Christmas Wishes stamp set. This was layered to the back of the card using Trinity Stamps Mini-Slimline Stitched Layers Stack & Dainty Scallop Edge Mini Slimline die sets.

Nutcracker Advent Calendar

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lynn Mc Auley, our challenge hostess for the month finishes off the challenge for the year with one last challenge. We will be back in January with more fun challenges.

Christmas Around the World 

For the CCEE Stampers’ final challenge of 2021, I would like for our stampers to select a country or culture other than their own and feature a unique element in that country or culture’s Christmas celebrations to feature on their cards.

Germany seems to be responsible for many of the Christmas traditions that have been adopted in various countries over the years. Three that come to mind are Christmas Trees, Advent Calendars and Nutcrackers. For my project today I decided to combine the Advent Calendar & Nutcracker.

For the Advent Calendar portion of my card, I used Scrappy Tails Craft's Advent Calendar Add-On and Slimline Bird House Pop Up Card die sets. For the roof I used the Christmas House Roof Add-On die set which allowed me to add the snow and Christmas lights to the roof. 

The Advent Calendar Add-on die set, also includes the number dies which I die cut from gold cardstock and adhered to the front of each of the doors of the calendar.

When you open the doors each day from the 1st December it reveals a Christmas related image or sentiment. I used small stamps from various stamp sets in my collection, including some from past Hero Arts monthly kits.

I wanted to make this special, so I decided to add a Nutcracker to each side of the Advent Calendar. The Nutcracker is also from Scrappy Tails Crafts from their Slimline Nutcracker Spinner Add On die set.

There is an additional die set which includes a panel to join the back and front of the Advent calendar together, however I didn't buy that set. So I used the joiner from the Slimline Snow Globe Pop up Card die set.

I backed the Nutcrackers with a die cut red nutcracker panel, so it blended in with the back of the card. I added a sentiment to the back using one of the stamps from Stamper's Anonymous Handwritten Holidays sentiment set.

A Little Bird Told Me

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a fun Bird House Pop up Slimline Card that I created recently.

To create my card I used Scrappy Tails Bird House Pop Up Card die set along with their Slimline Woodgrain Background die set to give the bird house a woodgrain look.

Of course bird houses need birds, so I used an Impression Obsession bird die to add the bird to the lower left hand corner of the card.

I added two flowers to the card using flowers from Karen Burniston's Flower Pot Pop-up die set.

To create the pop up portion of the card I adhered the concertina panel to each side of the front panel which attaches to the back panel.

I added a sentiment from Stampendous' Tweet Chirps stamp set to the inside panel, so it can be seen through the window in the front of the card.

I added a panel to the back of the card using Waffle Flower's Mini Slimline Layering die set to add a birthday sentiment.
