Reversing!
Reverse Masking is the technique being featured this week on SCS for the technique challenge. I have done heaps of reverse masking over the years to get things into jars, frames, gumball machines or tv's (stamped ones of course!); however to just cut out a shape from scrap paper and use that as the mask is something I hadn't done before, so rather than go with what I already knew I opted for this format instead which I had seen before on SCS and always meant to try someday but never had managed to find that time to do it. I started by cutting my reverse mask (oval shape) from scrap paper using my fiskars shapecutter & templates. Next I layed the scrap of paper with the oval shape missing onto my card I wanted to decorate and stamped my image, in the case of the friendship card - I used my marvy markers to ink my image and stamped them within the oval section and then without reinking the stamp I continued to stamp the image within the oval area. Once all the stamping was done I stippled some blue ink all over the oval area, removed the reverse mask and assemble my card and added my embellishments as needed.

For the second card (which really was the first one I made), I did the same as outlined for the card above. Once I had created the centre oval how I wanted it by stamping and sponging, I removed my reverse mask and placed the oval paper mask over the already decorated area so I could stamp my background over the rest of the card and sponge on some pink.
