Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being the November hostess, I continue to issue the challenges this week.

Apparently the 10th November was Sesame Street Day, this year celebrates 46 years since the show started. So for our challenge this week we were to create a card the is inspired by this show … You could feature any of the characters from the show; something related to a character eg garbage bin or cookies; or feature a letter of the alphabet etc.

I can remember sitting with my kids when they were little watching this show, and I guess now my daughter has done the same thing with my Grandchildren. 

I have seen a number of Sesame Street related cards on Pinterest using scallop circles etc and I debated whether I tried one of those style of cards or use one of the Sesame Street Circuit Cartridges I own. As you can see I went with the latter. After the last disastrous adventure I had with my Circuit Imagine, I asked my daughter if she wasn't using my Expressions could I have it back, because at least I can use that with the Gypsy which was just sitting there doing nothing. At least with that I can set out the mat with different colors. It was a much better experience, thank goodness. I even have a few extra Elmo's & Cookie Monsters because until I had my characters I wasn't sure what type of card I was going to make so what I would need.

As you can see, I decided to create a Pull Card using the Rectangle Pull Card designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. This card is quiet a large one using the full length of my designer paper.

As my designer paper was too thin to use on it's own and I wanted it on both sides, I folded it in half first and then applied Transparent Double Sided Adhesive Tape 152mm to the back of one side and adhered the two sides to each other. This makes the designer paper strong enough to stand on its own.

When you "Pull" the card open, it reveals a cookie related sentiment and a cookie which is attached to a spinner (also included in the Rectangle Pull Card die set). I added to decorative edges to each side of my card.

You're Fin-tastic!

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Our challenge hostess for July, Lynn McAuley continues to issue the challenges.

Lynn tells us that "Boy are things hot this time of year in Texas. What better place to cool off than underwater." So for our challenge this week we are to create an under the sea scene for this week’s challenge.

A few months ago, my sister asked me if I would make a card for her Granddaughter which featured the Little Mermaid, as it is something that she loves. Of course I said yes, but it may be a while as I didn't have anything Little Mermaid related. A few weeks ago, I was online looking either on my blog reader or Pinterest and saw a card using the Little Mermaid and when I investigated I discovered it was using a Cricut cartridge ... hmmmm didn't I buy that cartridge a number of years ago. When I went to investigate I found it in my Cricut library. Originally I was going to do something else for this challenge, but when I found that I had the cartridge I decided to use that for the challenge instead.

One thing I learnt while making this card is why I love dies rather than Electronic Die Cutting. With dies I always know what I am getting and it is done pretty quickly. I had given my Cricut Expression to my daughter a couple of years ago as I also had the Imagine and the Sizzix Eclipse none of which were being used and I had the Gypsy with my all cartridges on it. Anyway ... I couldn't get the Gypsy to work with the Imagine and it took hours just to get the one Little Mermaid image arghhhhh! I tried to also do Flounder & Sebastian the next day when I was creating my card, but my machine wouldn't cooperate, so I had to resort to coloring pages I found online.

I did have to cut the Little Mermaid bigger than I would like, so when I went looking at what card base to use I decided on using the Tattered Lace Centre Stepper Card.

To get the look of seaweed, I used my La La Land Crafts Large Flourish die.

Here is the inside of my card, I added more of the designer paper I used on the outside of the card and also added a sentiment.

A Baby Gift Box

Hi everyone!

It’s challenge time again over on the Riley and Company blog. This week the challenge hostess is Michele L.

Michele has challenged us to create a small gift box/ treat bag.

I thought it was about time I dusted off my cricut and tried the new Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cartridge I purchased a few months back. I used the cart to create the square gable box. I have to admit I much prefer using the Sizzix Eclips these days.

I decorated my box using Baby Blocks Riley, this would be perfect for a baby shower or to give a small gift for someone having a baby.

Welcome Little One!

Hi everyone,

My card today is a project that I made at a stamp club that I attend each month. This time round our project was given to us by my friend Tracy who showed us how to create this in baby dresser card.

My original card I made had a punched bear on it, but when I came home and looked for something to stamp onto the tiny onesie I discovered a cute bear and giraffe stamp which I had to use on my card.

Here is another view of my baby dresser … I had a lot of fun creating this and I am sure I will make more in the future.

On Baby’s Christening!

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week our challenge hostess Cindy Haffner,finishes off her month of challenges by challenging us to include a postage stamp, postage card, postage edge on our card. We could pick just one or do them all.

As my daughter needed a Christening card for the Christening of one of her nieces, I decided to combine the challenge with the Christening card. I had already designed a postage shaped card on my gypsy some time ago so I used that design to cut out my card using my cricut machine. The baby used on this is from Lili of the Valley, I so love this image!

Here is the inside of my card, I used a sentiment that I have had for sometime which I stamped in pink.

Batmoose & Popcorn!

It is day 3 of our Riley sneak peeks in readiness of the release of 18 new Movie Themed Riley images this coming this Thursday 29th September by Riley and Company.

Having a daughter who likes anything Batman/Nightwing/DC Comics related, I was excited when I saw that one of the Movie themed Riley’s that were going to be released this month was Batmoose! Isn’t he just adorable!! I know my daughter will approve.

Now you can’t really enjoy a movie without eating popcorn, so another of our movie themed stamps being released this week is Popcorn Riley …. isn’t he a cutie!!!!!!

For my card today I decided to create a popcorn shaped card. I found this template in a carnival themed set over on SVG Cuts.com and had purchased the set just before the circus theme Riley’s were released and then didn’t get around to using any of the templates in the set. So it was good to be able to use one of them this release.

Here is the inside of my card. I used one of the sentiments from the Circus Words set and also stamped the popcorn box from the Circus Accessories on the bottom of my card.

Pumpkins!

Hi everyone,

It’s time for another challenge with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week our challenge hostess Barbara Anders who has challenged us to create a card or project with a pumpkin of some form. If can be a card or 3D project.

Being the 3rd Saturday of the month it is a sponsored challenge and our sponsor this month is Creations by AR. Adela has some wonderful templates in her store which come in PDF, SVG and DXF format so that you can cut using cutting machines or by hand.

I used two of Adela’s templates for my projects today. The first is the 3 Pocket Caddy which is a lot of fun! I love that you have 3 separate pockets so you can use them for different gift ideas.

I think I have lots of pumpkins on this one!!!!!!! First up I dug way into my stamp stash (or stamp trucks as some of my friends refer to my storage space LOL) and found this cute bear who is pulling a pumpkin in his trolley to decorate my box.

I also found some fun pumpkin lollipops and pumpkin candy dispenser in my candy stash which I just had to add to my caddy! I also covered a box with the designer paper I used for my caddy to pop into the middle pocket.

For my second project I used another of Adela’s fun templates. This one is called a Brownie Box which I used to fill with little pumpkin chocolates.

I used orange designer paper for the box and tied it up with green  ribbon so it resembled a pumpkin … well just a little LOL! I added a pumpkin as a tag to my box, this is another stamp that I have had forever! Isn’t it fun when you use some of those neglected stamps now and then!

And one last photo, this time with the box open and full of chocolate pumpkins! Enough pumpkins for you Barb … ha ha ha!

I really had fun with Adela’s templates and will definitely be going back shortly to get some more …. she has just recently released some really fun ones I just have to have!

Trick or Treats!

Hi everyone,

It is challenge time over on the Alota Rubber Stamps blog.  This week our hostess is Susan Uncle who has challenges us to create a Halloween Treat, some type of Candy or Candy Carrier.

I decided to create a candy carrier for this challenge and used the Pinch Me Container from My Time Made Easy.  The image used on this is one of the new Alota Rubber Stamps bugs called Sign Bug.

Fairy Special …. it’s a Paper Pretties Blog Hop!

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. It time to join the Paper Pretties Design Team for our Paper Pretties New Release Blog Hop!!.

For my card I used the new Fairy Special stamp set, this set is available at the Paper Pretties Boutique NOW! I have had so much fun playing with this set.

To create my card I grab my gypsy and Cricut Freshly Picked cartridge to turn the mushroom into a folded card. Which was then cut using my Cricut. The cute lamb fairy and sentiment were added to the front.

As it is Wednesday, it is also time for another Paper Pretties Wednesday challenge. This week the challenge is a color challenge … to use the Earth Elements color. I think I have done this the best I could .

Here is the inside of my card, I added another of the sentiments and the Fairy Hippo from the set.

Welcome to day 4 of the Paper Pretties sneak peeks in readiness for the release of the new Paper Pretties stamps which are to be released tomorrow, Wednesday 14th September.

For last sneak peek before the stamps are released the Design Team are featuring Fish Wishes. What a fun stamp set this is. The  fish actually has some pretty swirls on it’s tail which I cut off as I was cutting it out.

As gold fish live is a fish bowl I decided to create a fish bowl shaped card today. The fish bowl was created using my Cricut and the Create A Critter cartridge. I used acetate to cut out the main fish bowl shape and I cut 4 of the blue pieces so I could adhere one on either side of the acetate to hide the tape.

Here is the inside of my card, I created it the same as the front, minus the fish and added one of the sentiments from the set instead. The tag you can see is actually on the outside of the card, but being my card is see through it can be seen when I turned my card inside out.

Fairy Special!

Today the Paper Pretties Design Team are featuring the Fairy Special stamp set. This is such a delightful stamp set which consists of 3 adorable animal fairies and a 5 sentiments to go with them.

As I had to make a circle card last week for a challenge, I decided to create another one while I had my gypsy out and my Cricut machine. I then decorated it using this adorable elephant fairy!

It’s also challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This month our challenge hostess Barbara Anders has given us a color challenge. We had to create a card using these gorgeous fall colors … Orange, Olive Green, Yellow & Brown.

 

As I have said before I always enjoying playing with pirate stamps and this one is no exception. I also recently received the Cricut Imagine Buccaneer cartridge, so decided to combine the two to create my project for todays challenge.

I think I covered all the colors …. my greens are a little off an olive green but I had to go with what the Imagine printed out and also the green of the beads that I used on  my project … but I promise I did use olive for the leaves on the branch that Pirate Polly is sitting on!

The parrot and the sentiment on the sign are both from the Paper Pretties Pirate Polly stamp set!

The treasure chest, tree, skull and crossbones flag and the signs that I used to stamp my sentiments were all printed using the Cricut Imagine. It has been a while since I have printed anything from my Imagine so for a while there I had big problems printing the black portions of these images, which I didn’t really realise until I tried to print the flag … can’t have a pirate flag that isn’t black can you LOL! I had read someone else had a similar problem earlier in the week that I created this project and she was able to fix the problem by cleaning the print heads on her machine. Unfortunately this didn’t work for me, I guess it has been a while since I printed stuff on it, I cut a lot using the machine but do not do a lot of printing. After a change of black ink it worked fine. Lesson learnt …. print more often which I plan to do, if only just papers.

Here is another photo showing the inside of my treasure chest. Which is filled with gold coins (fake of course) and jewels which I pinched from my daughters stash she uses with her kindergarten kids sometimes. Don’t worry she will probably get to use this with the children for Talk Like A Pirate Day which is coming up this month.

One more close up so you can see the treasure chest and the sign I put inside the lid of the chest. The sentiments I used here are two more of the sentiments from the new Paper Pretties Pirate Polly stamp set!
