Look On The Bright Side

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Kelly Santi our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

The flower of the day today is: Sunflowers! Create a card of thankfulness/gratitude and add a sunflower(s) somewhere on your card.

Recently I purchased Trinity Stamps "The Bright Side"  stamp set, which is a cute gnome holding two sunflowers up to his eyes ... of course I had to use that for today's challenge.

Last month Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge was a Slimline sketch (SC825), so as I love making Slimline cards I used that to create my card today.

I used Karen Burniston's new Long Rectangles Crosshatch for the layers of my card.

I used papers from Sunny Studios Surprise Party for all the pattern papers.

For the inside of my card, I decided to create a pop-up card. I used one of the new pop-up dies from Karen Burniston's Mini Pops Pop-up die set. This stamp set is perfect to use in Slimline cards. I added a sunflower to each of the pop up panels which is an older Penny Black wood mounted stamp I had in my stash.

I again used the Long Rectangle Crosshatch die for my inside panels. I also added some more of the pattern paper that I used on the front of the card. I didn't have much of the paper left, but with a little bit of clever gluing stripes next to each other, I was able to get two borders for the top and bottom of my card.

I added the sentiment to the base of my card which is from Honey Bee Stamps Bloom Stamp and coordinating die sets.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

I love this cheerful, happy card! I missed the gnome altogether on the first glance—that’s how dominant the lovey sunflowers are! Only noticed the gnome after I made the comment @the KB blog spot.
