To A Fabulous Teacher

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. It's a brand new month, so it's time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is Amy Ottmers.

Our challenge this week is ... Give Thanks – Create either a Thank You card or a Thanksgiving Card.

Australia doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving, so I don't have a need to make a Thanksgiving card. However the school year only has about a month left to go, so I do still need a few teacher thank you cards to give to my grandchildren's teachers. So as you can see above, that is what I did for my challenge today.

I created a Slimline card and used Divinity Designs Slimline Layering Rectangles and Slimline Card Base to create the base of my slimline card.

I wanted to use a stamp set I purchased last year from Craftin' Desert Divas which I hadn't used yet.

For the grass areas of this card I used Trinity Stamps Slimline The Great Outdoors Borders and Builders die set.

I added some birch trees to the background using Lawn Fawn's Birch Trees die set.

I wanted to use an apple for the school house, so used a die set from Lawn Fawn. As one of the images included in the stamp set, was a student sitting at a desk I needed to find a way to have that revealed. I used one of the lift a flap dies from Trinity Stamps Slimline Lift A Flap die set.

The road is also from Lawn Fawn, this was positioned so that the end of the road is hidden by the school house.

I added a teacher sentiment to the top right hand side of the card using stamps from Heffy Doodle Stamps.

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card using Lawn Fawn's Pop-up Thanks and Oliver's ABCs die sets. I added the letters using the colors of the rainbow.

I created a rainbow border to the top and bottom edges of the card using Catherine Pooler inks (colors listed in supplies below). The border is from Sunny Studio Stamps Slimline Basic Borders.

To decorate the inside of the card I added a few more images from the Craftin' Desert Divas stamp set.

I added the "teacher" die cut sentiment using a die from Honey Bee Stamps. The "For A Great Year" is from Heffy Doodle Stamps Teach Me Words stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
