Best Wishes

Hi Crafty Friends,

t’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Rebecca Ednie our challenge hostess for the month, finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Back to metallics for the end of the month. Use foiling on your project. If you don’t do your own foil, look for foiled patterned or mirror papers or embellishments like chipboard or stickers in your stash.

I had planned on buying one or two of the new Spellbinders Hot Glimmer Stamps for this challenge, but never got around to it as I couldn't decided which I wanted. When I finally sat down and look through my Hot Foil Stamps I already own, I discovered a few I purchased about 12 months or so ago and hadn't used, so of course I pulled those out to play for my card today.

I have the Couture Creations Go Press & Foil Machine which I have had for a couple of years, but with one thing or another I have been ignoring it recently ... so challenges like this are great.

For this card I used three hot foil stamps for the front of the card .... the swiss dots, the flourish frame and the sentiment. Each of these were foiled using gold foil.

I used an older embossing folder for the base of my card and layered all the foiled pieces using gold mirror card.

To finish off the front of my card, I added two roses from Altenew's Rinnie Roses stamp set.

For the inside of my card I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I added two panels of gold foiled swiss dots to the top and bottom of the card.

The sentiment is another hot foil stamp that I have had for some time, it's a large sentiment so I used Hero Arts Infinity Rounded Rectangles die set to die cut and layer it before adding to the pop-up arm.

Here is another view of the inside of my card, so you can see the pop up part of the card a little better.

Winter Wishes

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Anne Harmon our challenge hostess for the month finishes off her month with one last  challenge.

Monochromatic and die cuts - this week we are to create a monochromatic card (one color) using only die cuts.

Today is officially the last day of Winter for those of us down under! So for my card today I decided to create a White on White card with a winter theme. I have used white cardstock; Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and White Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz to that I would have various whites in my card.

To decorate my card I have used the new Becky Seddon Reindeer die set which was released earlier this month by Elizabeth Craft Designs. I also found a 6 x 6 embossing folder of tree trunks which I was able to use for the back panel of my pop up card. I added three of the large tree trunks from the die set to add texture and depth.

To create the pop up card I used Elizabeth Craft Designs new General Pop Ups die set which has a number of basic pop up dies in different widths & lengths. For this card I added two.

The sentiment on the base uses the A Way with Words - Let it Snow die set die cut from Shimmer Sheetz and layered onto the small oval from the Entwined Circles die set. I also added Transparent/Silver Glitter Dots Peel off Stickers to the snowflakes for extra sparkle.

Here is another view of my card taken at a different angle so you can see the pop up part of the card a little better.

I kept the front of my card fairly simple seeing the focus of this card will be on the inside. I added the embossed background again, along with the glittered snowbanks. For the sentiment I used A Way with Words - 4 Seasons for the "Winter" sentiment which was die cut using Shimmer Sheetz. I added the "Wishes" which is from the Best Wishes sentiment die.

Christmas Crackers

Hi everyone,

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful day yesterday!

Each year for the past thirty odd years or so I have been creating my own Christmas crackers to use on Christmas Day. Last year for the first time I made the Square shaped Christmas Crackers using the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Maker, I loved the look of those so I decided to make more of those type of Crackers this year.

I also found some gorgeous Cream and Gold Designer Poster Board at my local Scrapbook Shop in dots and stripes which I decided to use this year.

To decorate my crackers I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Poinsettia die set. The bottom red layer and the small flower on top were die cut by adhering Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet to the red cardstock prior to die cutting and then covering the adhesive with True Red Silk Microfine Glitter. I die cut the solid flower again to make the leaves.

The striped crackers were for the males and the polka dot for the females.

Fall Time

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Jessie Rone our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenge.

This time round Jessie has given us a color challenge using the colours Rust, Hunter Green, and Sun Yellow(think Fall leaves)

Jessie told us to think Fall Leaves so that is exactly what I did haha! First up I grabbed card that matched the colours I needed to use and added bands of color to the inside and front of my card. I use versa mark ink to add the acorn images onto the card on the inside of my card.

As you can see I have created a Pop Up Card using the Lots of Pops Pop Up Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

The cute hedgehog image is one of the new stamps designed by Bianca Petroschi for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I also die cut a whole bunch of leaves from the new Woodland leaves die set designed by Susan's Garden also for ECD. I cut the leaves from white card and then added yellow, green and rust colours to get the autumn leaf look.

Here is another view of the inside of my card taken at an angle so you can see the pop up portion of my card.

For the outside of my card I added bands of the three colours I needed to use onto a piece of card and then used a new Woven Embossing Folder from We R Memory Keepers to emboss the colors, I love the texture this gives. I also rubbed a little gold over the card for a bit of shimmer, it may be hard to see in the photo but it is there and I added a little more after I took the photo too.

I added a sentiment on the front of the card and some more leaves. I layered most to the bottom of the card so it looks like they have landed on the ground after falling from the trees.

Hello, Friend

It's our Cornish Heritage Farms Design Team challenge time again over on the Cornish Heritage Farms blog. This time round our challenge is hosted by Me!

For our challenge this week we are to create a card with a friendship theme.

For my card I used Cornish Heritage Farms Flower Jar Digital Stamp and Friend Expressions Stamp set

To create the background on my card I blended Pickled Raspberry and Twisted Citron Distress Inks onto white card and then embossed with the new We R Memory Keepers Woven Embossing Folder.

For the inside of my card I added another sentiment from the Friend Expressions Stamp set and also stamped just the flowers from the Flower Jar image to the bottom of the card.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Teams blogs today to see what they created for this challenge.
