Coffee & Friends

Hi everyone,

Today I am playing along with the Winter Coffee Lovers Bloghop which is being held from Friday 9th December to Friday 16th December. The theme this time round is Winter/Holiday,  use any coffee, tea or cocoa images and apparently National Cocoa Day is 13th December.

For my card I created a Pull Card using the Rectangle Pull Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I also used the cup, spoon, steam and coffee beans which are all from the Cup Pop Stand die set. I die cut the cup from a piece of designer paper which featured some cute owls dressed in winter scarves and hats, so that is the winter part of the challenge 😀.

The steam and coffee beans were all die cut from card that had Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front and then covered with Light Brown Silk Microfine Glitter. The spoon was die cut using Silver Metallic Shimmer Sheetz.

Here is a look at my card when you "pull" the card open. I have used the part of sentiments from two sentiment sets for the panel on the left hand side of the card .... the Coffee & Tea and Lucky Birthday Clear Stamp sets. The panel on the right hand side I have left blank so I can write a personal message.

On the top right hand corner I added the "You are absolutely Amazing" sentiment which is from the Occasions Clear Stamp set.

Paper: White; Blue; Red; Festive Frolics DP - Docrafts Papermania

Have Yours-ELF a Merry Little Christmas

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. I am the challenge hostess for December and today I am issuing the final challenge for 2016 as we are all taking a break so we can spend time with our families. We will be back next year with lots more fun challenges to play along with!

For our challenge this week we are creating a card using your favorite "Crazy" sketch from our 2016 sketches.

For my card today I decided to use the March sketch C4C328 to create another Christmas Card. I change my card from a rectangle shaped card to a square but otherwise the sketch is the same.

To decorate my card I used the A Way with Words Merry Christmas die set. Along the top of the card I added one of the borders from the Holiday Garlands 1 die set. Both these dies are available from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I also added two elves from the Elf'd stamp set from Essential by Ellen, as I love doing Elf on the Shelf each year I just had to buy this stamp/die set last year when it was released ... I actually used it as a prop with my elves last year 😀.

For the inside of my card I used the Anita Frames pop up die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

As you can see I added a few more elves from the stamp set and also a sentiment.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Stamps: Elf'd - Essentials by Ellen
Paper: White; Red; Green; Retro Christmas DP - Authentique

December 25

Hi everyone,

It's my turn to post a tutorial on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today. Did you know there is only 17 days until Christmas!!!!! Do you still need to make a Christmas card or two??? Today I am sharing  how to create the Christmas above in case you are in need of some inspiration.

Here's how I created my card:

1. Die cut the following:
  • (1) Large Dotted Scallop Rectangle from True Green Soft Finish Cardstock.
  • (1) Circle Background from White Soft Finish Cardstock
  • (2) Sprig from the Sprig with Berries die set from True Green Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back.
  • (2) Solid Ornaments from the Ornaments 4 die set using Ladybug Red Soft Finish Cardstock
  • (1) Each of the Decorative Ornament from the Ornaments 4 die set from Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheetz that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back.
  • (1) A Way with Words Dec 25 sentiment from Ladybug Red Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back.

2. Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock that is slightly larger than the Circle Background.
  • Adhere Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape to the front of the cardstock.
  • Remove the protective backing from the adhesive piece, lay the Circle Background on top of the adhesive being careful not to touch the adhesive anyway inside the background.
  • Cover the adhesive using Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter. Return the excess glitter to the jar and polish the glitter into the adhesive using your fingers.
  • Trim any excess cardstock so it is flush with the frame of the background.

3. Layer the background onto the True Green Dotted Scallop Rectangle Panel.
  • Cut a piece of Ladybird Red Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 4 1/2 inches x 11 1/2 inches. Score along the 11 1/2 inch side at 5 3/4 inches and fold to create a 4 1/2 inch x 5 3/4 inch top folding card.
  • Layer the background panel to the front of the folded red card.

4. Remove the adhesive from the green sprigs and adhere them to the top part of the circle background so that they overlap slightly.
  • Cut off the top section of the red ornaments and then layer the Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheetz overlay pieces over the top of the red ornaments.
  • Adhere ornaments to card using foam tape. Refer to photo above for placement.
  • Place a piece of gold border from the Gold Border Assorted Peel Off Stickers from each ornament to one of the branches on the sprigs.
5. Adhere the A Way with Words Dec 25 sentiment to the lower right hand corner of the card.

   6. The Inside of the Card:

Die cut the following:
  • (1) Large Dotted Scallop Rectangle from True Green Soft Finish Cardstock.
  • (1) 2nd largest Rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles die set using White Soft Finish Cardstock
  • (1) Solid Ornaments from the Ornaments 4 die set using Ladybug Red Soft Finish Cardstock
  • (1) Circle Decorative Ornament from the Ornaments 4 die set from Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheetz that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back.
7. Layer the white Stitched Rectangle panel to the green Dotted Scallop Rectangle. Adhere into inside of card.

  • Using the "Christmas Greetings" sentiment from the Winter Sentiments Clear Stamp set stamp onto the top right hand side of the white panel using black ink. (Refer to photo above for placement)
  • Assemble ornament as per instructions in step 4 and adhere to the left hand side of the card.
  • Add gold border from the Gold Border Assorted Peel Off Stickers from the top of the ornament to the top of the white rectangle.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.

Gingerbread

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Our challenge hostess for the month, Maryann Einam continues to issue the challenges.

This is our last challenge for 2016, so everyone can enjoy spending time with family and friends over the Christmas Season. But we will be back in January for more challenges.

According to the Days of the Year Web site, the 10th December is Gingerbread Decorating Day and the 12th December is Gingerbread House Day. So for our challenge this week let’s include something gingerbread related on our cards.

For my project today, I decided to make something other than a card for a change. So used my Sizzix House Box die set to create a Gingerbread House. I decorated the house using various dies and a couple of cute Gingerbread Man & Girl stamps.

Here is a close up of some of the sides of my house/box.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Hi everyone,

I have another Christmas card to share with you all today.

It's been a while since I used my Sizzix Stand Up Bigz dies or any of my stand up dies for that matter, and as they make fun quick cards I figured I should pull one out to play today.

To decorate my card I used a stamp set from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps .... No Peeking, this is such a cute stamp set. 🎅

I added a sentiment to some fishtail flag banners to the bottom part of my card.

Here is a look at my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Paper: White; Red; Green; Have a Merry Christmas DP - Carta Bella

Nice List

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a Christmas Card I created recently.

The stamp set I used for this card is from MFT Stamps ... Jingle all the Way. I also used the grid from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Susan's Garden Garden Patch 1 1/2 inch & Mini Roses. This grid actually has two rows, but I cut one off so I only had the one left for my images.

For the inside of my card I added a sentiment and reindeer from the stamp set.

Wishing You a ....

Hi everyone,

I have seen many cards on Pinterest recently using the Drapery Fold Technique which I have been wanting to try out. And I have finally gotten around to playing with this technique.

To decorate my card I added the Elizabeth Craft Designs Poinsettia die set using True Red Silk Microfine Glitter on the solid flowers and Red Metallic Shimmer Sheetz on the decorative layer.

I created a template on the size of designer paper I used and the folds and cuts, so that I had something to reference if I decide to use this technique again in the future. I have included it above in case you might like to give it a go as well.

Here is a look at the inside of my card.

Stamps: Seasons Greeting - Couture Creations
Paper: White; Green; Red; Classic Seven DP - Authentique
Dies:  Poinsettia - Elizabeth Craft Designs

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month it's time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is me!!!!!

STAR – Stars decorate our Christmas Trees and also helped show where Jesus was laying in his Manger all those many years ago. So for our challenge this week we are using the word ‘STAR’ – incorporate something starting with each of the letters in the word.

Here are a few suggestions to help you, but of course you are not limited to these ... Use your imagination!

S = Santa; Sleigh; Stockings; Star; Snowman; Snowflakes; Snow; Sage; Saffron; Sapphire; Scarlet; Sepia; Silver; Square

T = Tree; Toy; Train; Tiger; Teddy; Teacher; Turkey; Triangle; Teal; Taupe; Turquoise

A = Arrow; Apple; Animals; Aqua; Apricot; Amber; Angel

R = Red; Reindeer; Rabbit; Rainbow; Rain; Rose; Ring; Rug; Round; Rectangle

For my card today I have created another Window Card using the Lorna Label Pop Up die set. Karen Burniston shared how to create this style of card early in November. You can see Karen's video for this tutorial here.

To decorate my card I used the Snowman Peel Off Stickers which includes the snowman and all the Trees included in the set. I also used the snow border from the Outdoor Edges die set to create the snow on the bottom of my card.

I used the following to use the letters of the word STAR when I created my card ...
S = Snowman; Snow; Snowflakes; Sleigh
T = Trees
A = Angel (on front of card)
R = Red

Here is another look at the front of my card when it is fully closed.

Have a Cracker of a Christmas

Hi everyone,

Recently while I was going through my blog reader, checking out the blog posts of people that I follow I came across a fun Christmas Cracker Shaped Box which I just had to try out. Here is my version of the box.

If you would like to create one too, you will find the tutorial that Kim Fee created on here blog here.

To decorate my box I used a sentiment stamp I had in my stash which I thought suited this style of box perfectly. I also used the holly leaves and sprigs from Elizabeth Craft Designs Candles die set.

Here is another view of my box when it is closed. I added another layer of green cardstock under the open part of the designer paper, so that the reverse of the designer paper couldn't be seen.

Here you can see the box when one of the sides of the box is removed.

And finally both sides of the box are removed to reveal the box ( mine is empty in the photo above,  but you could put a number of different things inside the box including a gift card.

Snowman

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being the beginning of the month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess, which is Maryann Einam.

Today is Eat a Red Apple Day, so in the spirit of Christmas let’s create something that includes the color red.

For my card today I have used a Snowman image from Darcie's Country Folk. This is a stamp set I have had in my stash for a number of years.

For the layers of my card I used the Elizabeth Craft Designs Fitted Squares and Dotted Scallop Squares die sets.

For the inside of my card I created a pop up card using the Anita Frames Pop Up die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

The sentiments are from the Holiday Clear Stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:
