Fore! Three Two One

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a card I made for a good friend who celebrated her birthday last week. My friend loves playing golf, and for as many years as I can remember I have created a golf themed card to give to her for her birthday. After all this time she more or less expects it.

it's getting harder as the years go by, as I haven't purchased new golf theme stamps in years and they are hard to find, especially ones to suit a female golfer.

This year I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Cupcake Pop-up die set, to hide the cupcake I added a rectangle panel which was decorated the same as the background.

I used Magnolia stamps Golf Flag stamp and Kraftin Kimmie Stamps Good Sports stamp set to add the girl on the golf green.

The sun and clouds are from Karen Burniston's Landscape Scene die set.

I added the diagonal stripe paper along the bottom edge of my card. I then added the circle border from Karen Burniston's Border Blends - Trims die set. This looks like a row of golf balls.

For finish off the inside of a card I added a golf themed birthday sentiment.

I kept the front of the card simple, as the focus is on the inside. I created the golf green scene using papers from Lawn Fawn's Watercolor Wishes 12 x 12 Paper, it's the same paper I used on the inside.

I added the golf ball and tee from Karen Burniston's Sports Charms die set. The sentiment is an older one from Rubbernecker Stamps.

Unicorns and Rainbows

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Liz Williams our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently it’s” look up at the sky day.”  So recreate something you love as a beautiful part of God’s huge canvas (maybe a starry night, a bright rainbow, sunrises or sunsets, or beautiful cloud formations.)

For my card today I decided not only to look up at the sky, but to go up into the sky among the clouds and rainbows where the unicorns live.

I created a Slimline Scenescape card using Mama Elephant's Slimline Scenescape Builder die set and the coordinating Rainbow Add-on die set.

I die cut the base from white cardstock and then used Kitsch Flamingo Distress ink to add the clouds to all the various pieces before assembling the scene.

I normally make my rainbows traditional bright colours, but for my card today I decided to go pastel.

The unicorns are from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp's Unicorns and Rainbows stamp set, I again selected pastel colours when colouring the unicorns.

I added the sun to the front panel of my card, along with a sentiment from a older Hero Arts stamp set.

I added sparkle to my card by splattering on some Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust. In real life this makes he card look sparkly, however trying to take photos wasn't so great as the liquid stardusts looks like a dirty mark in the photos, when it is not. I also added some larger bling by added some Glacier jewels from Pinkfresh Studio.

I added a pink panel and then the pink cloudy panel to the back of the card. I added a unicorn/rainbow sentiment and two more unicorns and my card is done!

Unicorns and Rainbows

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenges.

Continuing the "S" theme we have this month, our challenge is all about ....
Stripes - create a card that includes stripes! Create your own striped background by using paper/card scrap strips; striped stamps or patterned paper.

A few weeks ago I created a Slimline Bridge card in landscape style, today I have created one in portrait style. This card measures 4 inches x 9 inches. To create the Slimline Bridge base I started with a piece of cardstock measuring 5 1/2 inches x 9 inches. I then scored along the 5 1/2 inch side at 1 inches; 1 3/4 inches; 3 3/4 inches; 4 1/2 inches.

I used Mama Elephant's Quick Stripes die set to create the stripes used on the background of my card. I had previous die cut cardstock in the colors of the rainbow and I still had enough left to make my background for this card and possibly for something else in the future. After creating my rainbow background, I cut it down to the size needed for each of the layered panels.

I used Divinity Designs Slimline Clouds die set, die cutting each of the three dies included from the set from white cardstock. I blended some blue ink along the scalloped edges of all the clouds. I layered the 3 clouds together and then adhered it to the bottom of the Slimline Bridge card.

I used the clouds included in Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rainbows die set to add the single clouds to the top portion of the card.

To decorate the card I used the unicorns, castle & sentiments from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Unicorns & Rainbows stamp set.

It's hard to see in the photos, but once the card was all decorated I added shimmer along the edges of all the clouds and added some translucent star sequins over the clouds. In real life the stars have a hint of pink & blue all over the clouds, adding a little sparkle.

I had a small amount of rainbow background left over that I used on the front of the card, so I trimmed that down to use some on the back panel. I added a single cloud, unicorn and sentiment.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Unicorns Rock!

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I continue to issue the challenges.

Apparently today is Unicorn Day … so let's feature unicorns on our cards this week.

Yesterday I shared two Surprise Ball Easter Bunnies that I made for my grandchildren for Easter, using Karen Burniston's Surprise Ball Pop-up die set. When I first started making these, I had planned on making a white Easter Bunny. But after assembling the two Surprise Balls and adhering them together and adding a few rabbit elements to the project, I decided to created a Caramel Bunny instead. Rather than waste the two white Surprise Balls, I carefully separated the two Surprise Balls, and removed the elements I had added and decided to use the Surprise Balls to make an Offset Stacking Unicorn Surprise Ball instead.

To discover how to make a Offset Stacking Surprise Ball Animal, check out Karen Burniston's  tutorial where she created a Lizard. You can find her video here.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

I had been thinking of making this for a few weeks now ... but was debating on this or using one of the Unicorn themed stamps/dies I had also acquired recently. There had been a discussion on Karen Burniston's Pop-up Peeps Facebook Group about Unicorn Surprise Balls, and I knew if I were to make one the first thing I would pull out was my Pink Fresh Studio's Magical Unicorn Stamp and coordinating die set. Well it took some finding, but when I looked on my blog for the last time I used that set, I located the missing item in amongst another unicorn stamp set. I used this set to add the Unicorn's horn, ears and eyes.

For the mane on the front of the Unicorn's head. I used leaves from one of the ferns included in Bright Rosa's Fern Border die set. I trimmed 6 leaves off the fern and colored the leaves pink and purple and adhered them to the front of the ears.

I added a flower to the middle of the mane using a flower die from the Upsy Daisy Pop-up die set.

For the wings, mane (behind the ears) and tail I used dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs Heart with Wings die set.

I added two sentiments and two stamped rainbows to inside of the card. The rainbows & the sentiment on the right panel are from Your Next Stamp's Unicorns Rock! stamp set.

The Birthday sentiment on the left panel is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Unicorns and Rainbows stamp set.

The patterned paper used on this card is from Sunny Studio Stamps Spring Fling 6 x 6 paper pad.

The base of my card is a side folding card which measures 5 1/2 inches x 6 1/2 inches when folded.

To keep the card closed, I created a belly band. As I had purchased Waffle Flower's Unicorn die set back in February I decided to add that to the front of my card on the belly band. I added the Unicorn Rocks! sentiment which is also included in the Your Next Stamp stamp set.

All Aboard!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to our Paper Pros challenge for May. This time round our challenge is hosted by Caz.

For our challenge this month Caz has given us the theme .... "A few of my favorite things".

Everyone knows I love Pop it Ups dies, one of the most used of my dies would have to be the Katie Label Pivot Card, and one of my favorite ways to use it these days is to create a Z Fold Card. Another of my favorite things is my Grandson (and Granddaughter too of course). So for my card today I have created a birthday card for him.

To decorate my card I used the Kraftin Kimmie Stamps All Aboard stamp set. I also added train tracks from Taylored Expressions and also added the MFT Stamps Border It Numbers along the train track ... a little like carriages of a train.

Here is a closer look at the front of my card when it is folded. As my Grandson will be 7 this year, I added the number 7 to the front of the train. I also used the small clouds from All Seasons Tree for the smoke and added the All Aboard sentiment from the stamp set to the first two clouds of smoke.

Here is a closer look at the 'pivot' portion of my card.

You can see what the other "Paper Pros" created for this challenge on there blogs:

HB2U

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing another card I created using the Kraftin' Kimme Stamps Party Animal stamp set. When I received the sets I ordered recently I decided to stamp out two of each image plus a few other images so that I could cut a whole heap out using my Scan N Cut at once. So now I have images that just need to be colored and turned into cards when I am looking for something to use.

I have created a "pull' card using the Pop it Ups Oval Pull Card die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I have also added a few of the fishtail banners using the ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners die set to decorate my card. On a few of the banners I have added Black/Silver Glitter Dots Peel Off Stickers.

When you "pull" the card open it reveals the back of the oval where I have added another sentiment which is also included in the stamp set.

Stamps: Party Animal - Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps
Paper: White; Red; Yellow; Blue; Green; Invite DP - Kaisercraft
Dies: Pop it Ups Oval Pull Card; ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners - Elizabeth Craft Designs

Plane Awesome

Hi everyone,

Last week I posted a card I created using Kraftin Kimmie Stamps Sky's the Limit stamp set. I had stamped out two of the cute plane, so I decided to make two cards.

For my card today I decided to create a Centre Step Card using  Centre Step Card die set from Cheery Lynn Designs.

I used the clouds from the  CountryScapes Clouds & Grass die set, when it is die cut in green it looks a little like bushes.

For the inside of my card I added another sentiment and the plane image which is stamped off the edge of the card.

Stamps: Sky's the Limit - Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps; Sports Boy - Stampendous
Paper: White; Green; Save the Date Collection Banner DP - Kaisercraft; DP - SU
Dies: CountryScapes Clouds & Grass; Pop it Ups Outdoor Edges; Pop it Ups Anita Frames Pop Up Card; ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Other: Black Ink; Peeled Paint Distress Oxide; Foam Tape; Copics

Huge Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone,

Today is my birthday and as I didn't have anything particular I had to post on my blog today, I decided to create a birthday card using this cute Party Animal stamp set I purchased recently from Kraftin' Kimme Stamps.

As you can see I have created a Tri Shutter card using the Shutter Card die set from Tattered Lace.

I used the Stitched, Fitted and Dotted Scallop Circles from Elizabeth Craft Designs for the image. I also added the ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners for the HB2U which I added to the top left hand corner of my card. I added the party hat from the Props 7 die set onto each of the 4 square corners.

To finish off the card I added the "Celebrate" sentiment to the right hand panel.

Here is another photo of my card taken from overhead so you can see the folds of the card a little better.

And finally a look at my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Stamps: Party Animal - Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps
Paper: White; Red; Yellow; Back to School DP - Doodlebug Designs Inc.
Dies: Shutter Card - Tattered Lace; Stitched Circles; Fitted Circles; Dotted Scallop Circles; ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners; Pop it Ups Props 7 - Elizabeth Craft Designs; Sentimental Die - Avery Elle
Other ECD Products:  Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape 64mm; Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter

Flying by ....

Hi everyone,

Today I have another Double Z Fold card to share with you, these are so easy to make and lots of fun.

Along the bottom of the card I used the cloud from the CountryScapes Cloud & Grass die set and the grass from the Pop it Ups Outdoor Edges to create the grassy area of the card.

To decorate my card I used Kraftin' Jimmie Stamps Sky's the Limit stamp set which I purchased recently.

I added the boy to the bottom left hand corner which is a stamp I have had in my stash for years. He looks exciting to see a plane in the sky 😀.

Here is a look at my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Stamps: Sky's the Limit - Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps; Sports Boy - Stampendous
Paper: White; Green; Save the Date Collection Banner DP - Kaisercraft; DP - SU
Dies: CountryScapes Clouds & Grass; Pop it Ups Outdoor Edges; Pop it Ups Anita Frames Pop Up Card; ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners - Elizabeth Craft Designs
