Flower Basket

Hi everyone,

Today I have a tutorial on how to create the card above using products from Elizabeth Craft Designs. For this card I have used dies from the Els van de Burg Studio collection including the Fitted Circles and Flower Set 3.

Here is how I created my card:

1. Cut a piece of peach cardstock 5 1/2 inches x 11 inches. Score along the 11 inch side at 5 1/2 inches and fold. This will be our base card.

2. Cut a piece of pink cardstock 5 1/4 inches square and adhere to base card.

3. Cut a piece of designer paper 5 inches square and adhere this to base card.

4. Lay the five largest dies onto a piece of tan card so that they are evenly spaced. Use removable tape etc to hold them in place and run them through die cutting machine.

  • Remove the circles from the dies ... you should have 4 pieces as per the photo above (we don't need the remaining solid circle.

  • Adhere each circle to the other at one point in the circle until all circles are adhered and look like the circles above.
  • Attach this to the front of the card so that the connection point of the circles is positioned on the top left hand side of the card.

5. Using the Flower Set 3 die cut the following:
  • (1) Smallest Flower from pink cardstock
  • (1) Smallest Flower from peach cardstock
  • (4) Second smallest Flower from pink cardstock
  • (2) Second smallest Flower from peach cardstock
  • (2) Middle Flower from pink cardstock
  • (2) Middle Flower from peach cardstock
  • (5) Flower Centres from yellow cardstock
  • (1) set of leaves from Curvy Leaves die set from green cardstock
  • Add shading to leaves using ink or markers.

  • Use the stylus tool to shape flowers and assemble as per photo above.
  • Use the leaf  tool to shape leaves and cut apart as per photo above.

6. Attach flowers to card using photo above as guide for placement.

7. Inside of Card:

  •  Die cut the largest square from the Stitched Rectangles die set from white cardstock. Adhere to inside of card.
  • Die cut "happy birthday" from pink cardstock and adhere to inside of card. (for easy layering adhere Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape to back of cardstock prior to die cutting.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial.

Congrats

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a card I created using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Fitted Frames 4 - Curvy Ovals ... I die cut the frames twice from two different colored cardstocks and layered them to my card alternating the colors. I also inlaid the dots and other pieces that came out of the opposite colored card to the frames. To make it easier for layering I added Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape to my card prior to die cutting.

For the sentiment I used the new A Way with Words Congrats die which I die cut with the adhesive on the front so I could add Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the front.

On the inside of my card I added a couple more frames left over from doing the front of the card. I added a white centre oval. I have left this blank so I can use it for whatever is needed when I use this card.

Enjoy the Moment

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Peggy is the challenge hostess for the month and she finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Spring is just around the corner so let’s see some Spring themed cards. For those of you “down under”, feel free to do an Autumn themed card.

Of course I am one of those who live "down under" but opted to create a Spring card rather than an Autumn one as we don't really experience a true Autumn where I live. Of course down here Spring is also September to November rather than March to May as it is above the Northern Hemisphere ..... so for me Spring means flowers!

I decided to create a Centre Step Card for this week's challenge as it has been a while since I made one of these and I love this cute little bunny watering the flowers which my daughter got me last year for Mother's Day and I hadn't used until now!

Here is the inside of my card. I stamped flowers all around the edge of the card and a birthday sentiment in the centre.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

If Friends Were Flowers

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lyn McAuley our challenge hostess for the month finishes off the month with one last challenge.

In 1995 Massachusetts Governor William Weld declared February 28 Floral Design Day to honor educator Carl Rittner, the founder of the Rittner School of Floral Design. Lets take this week in the dead of winter to do some paper and ink floral designs!

Of course it isn't winter where I live we are at the end of summer, but it was fun to pull some flower stamps out to play this week.

For my card this week I used the Hanging Charm Pull Tab die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I have been having lots of fun playing with this new die set.

I decided to pull out an older image to use on my card this time round, I am hoping to use a few more older stamps this year ..... but we will see how that goes. This cute Frog with Flowers is an older one from Rubbernecker stamps.

Here is a view of my card taken at a different angle so you can see the tab which opens and closes the piece at the front to reveal the secret message.

This is how my card looks when it comes out of the envelope and it is closed. You then need to pull the tab where it says "Pull Here" to make the frame pop up.

I have kept my card as a flat card rather than one that opens up, I just added the card to the bottom of the card for my sentiment and to hand write a message to whoever ends up receiving this card.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Merci

Bonjour everyone,

I have been playing with a couple more of the new dies which were released earlier last month from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

This is another flat card which uses the frame from the Oval Landscape Accordion Card die set and the Trellis Edges designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs

Of course I love all the A Way With Words dies and this Merci word die will go well with the Eiffel Tower Pop Stand die set. So of course I had to use both to decorate my card today.

For the inside of the card I used the negative piece that comes out when you die cut the Trellis Edges Frame to adhere to the centre of my card. I used the Just a Note Clear Stamp set to add the sentiment and stamped Eiffel Tower.

Hello

Hi everyone,

I have been playing again with the new Stage It Stencils designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. The one I used on my card today is the Flower Stage it Stencil.

To get the glitter on the card I covered a piece of pink cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive. I then inked the back of the stencil with Versamark ink so that the stencil is easy to remove from the adhesive tape. Place the stencil on the adhesive and then pour over Fuchsia Silk Microfine Glitter. Remove excess glitter and carefully remove the stencil from the adhesive and then cover the remaining adhesive with the Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

Once I had my glittered card I then used the Oval Edge from the Pull Card Edges die set to cut a half oval shape into the right hand side of the cardstock. Adhere this to the card using foam tape.

To decorate the card I added a cupcake from the Cupcakes die set designed by Joset Designs for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I added Pink/Silver Glitter Dot Peel Off Stickers to the icing of the cupcake.

For the sentiment I used the "Hello" from the Just a Note Clear Stamp set which I stamped on the fishtail banner from the new Banner die set ... I trimmed the banner so it was level with the smaller part of the banner and than attached it to the lower left hand side of the card.

For the inside of the card I added the negative piece cut out when I die cut the Oval Edge on the glittered stencil panel. I also added another sentiment from the Just A Note Clear Stamp set.

Flying By

Hi everyone,

My card today is one I created to use as a make and take during the recent Super Silly Sale held over the past 3 days at Craft Giraffe.

I tried to keep the card fairly simple as this was going to be made by approx 150 people which meant all that die cutting and of course people had to create the card in a certain amount of time.

For my card I used the Hanging Charm Pull Tab Card designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I added the hot air balloon from Joset Designs Hot Air Balloons die set.

The sentiment is from the new What's Up? Clear Stamp se.  The clouds on the blue card are sponged using white ink and the new Partly Cloudy Stage It Stencil. Both of these products are also designed by Karen Burniston.

Here is my card when it is closed ready to be popped in an envelope.

And finally the inside of my card. This time around I decided to create a folded card and added the sentiment etc to the inside of the card.

Coffee, but first Golf!

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a card I created for a very good friend who celebrated her birthday last week! My friend loves playing golf and for as long as I can remember I have made a golf themed card to give to her for her birthday. After all this time she more or less expects it hehe!

This year I decided to create a card using the die sets I was giving her for her birthday ... Jinks the Monkey and the Cup Pop Stand Card both designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.. Besides golf, I know my friend loves coffee and the color green so I wanted to incorporate those in the card too.

I created the Cup Pop Stand Card and then added Jinks the Monkey so he looks like he is coming out of the cup. I stamped a golf club and placed it in his hand and in the other he is holding a coffee bean. Jinks likes to play golf with coffee beans!

For the sentiment I used two of the sentiments from the Coffee & Tea Clear Stamp set and then added the word "Golf!" at the end which is from a Golf themed stamp set I have. I also stamped some coffee beans and golf balls.

This is a view of my card from the back of the card. I added another layer to Jinks' solid black body and traced around his head on brown card so I could get a head without eyes etc so it looked like the back of him.

I added another sentiment on this side which are layered onto an oval created using the Stitched Oval Die set.

Along the edges of the card I added a scallop border using the scallop from the Pull Card Edges die set.

The pink ring on the saucer was created using two of the circles from the Fitted Circles die set.

Here is a look at my card from above, so you can see all the elements of the card.

And finally the front of the card. I used the Coffee Bean Embossing Folder on the burgundy panel. I created another monkey using the technique where you cut the monkey's head of and turn him around so it looks like he is hanging from something. Karen Burniston shows how to do this in her Sock Monkey video that she posted on YouTube which you can see here  (at approx 6:45 minutes)

I again added a golf club in Jinks' hand and there is a coffee bean on the lower right hand side of the card .... remember Jinks is playing golf with coffee beans haha!

What's Up?

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Peggy is the challenge hostess for the month and she continues to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for our Sketch Challenge. I hope you have fun playing with this layout.

For my card today I decided to pull out the Hot Air Balloon die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

On the lower right hand side of the card I added one of the sentiments from the What's Up? Clear Stamp set. This sentiment seems to work with so many different stamps & dies that I own :)

For the inside of the card I used the Pop Up die that is included in the set to create a pop up card. I have positioned the die so that the extra pop up piece is at the bottom of the card rather than the top and placed my hot air balloon on the main pop up panel and then the cloud on the small pop up piece that comes out from there.

I used another sentiment from the What's Up? Clear Stamp set and this is layered using an oval from the Oval Landscape Accordion Card set.

Here is another look at the inside of my card, this time at an angle so you can see the pop up pieces of the card. I also added Orange/Silver Glitter Dot Peel Off Stickers to the Hot Air Balloon and the stripes of card at both edges.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.
