Hi Crafty Friends,
It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month it's time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is Anne Harmon.
April Showers bring May Flowers. Fill your card with pretty flowers.
As I had just received some new layering stamps/die sets from Altenew, I decided to play with one of these sets for my card today. I am fairly new to layering stamp sets, but I am happy with how this turned out. Selecting colors for the flowers was pretty easy as I also purchased one of Altenew's ink pad sets which contain four colors in graduating colors ... so the work is all done for me when it comes to color selection.
I layered my flowers onto the Altenew Doodled Dots Cover die, die cut in white and then layered onto a folded pink card.
For the inside of the card I die cut two more of the Doodled Dots Cover dies and adhered them onto the inside.
I added the pop-up mechanism from Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up Card die set. I then adhered another one of the flowers which I used on the outside onto this pop-up.
As Mother's Day is just around the corner, I figured this would make a good card for that occasion so added a Mother's Day sentiment to the base of the card.
I also adhered a die cut "Mum" to the pop-up flower.
Here is a side view of the inside of the card, so you can see the pop-up portion of the card a little better.
