Not A Creature Was Stirring

Hi Crafty Friends,

Yes I know Christmas is over, but I had a few Christmas themed stamp sets that I wanted to use before the end of the year, so I could put all the Christmas things away until next year. So rather than not share them until 10 or so months later, I figured I will share them now.

Today I have Christmas themed Lift the Flap Slimline card to share.

To create my card I used Lawn Fawn's Small Slimline with Lift the Flaps die set. This die cuts a panel with 3 flaps that open to reveal whatever you desire in the windows under the flaps.

I die cut mine from red cardstock and layered it to a top folding Slimline card that measures 3 1/2inches x 8 1/2 inches. I used papers from Lawn Fawn's Let it Shine Paper Pad for the background of my card.

I used the inner tree from the Stitched Christmas Tree Frames die set, which I added to each of the flaps and then added the letters "J O Y" to each of the trees. The letters were die cut using white glitter cardstock.

For the inside of my card I created a cute kitchen scene using the Not A Creature Was Stirring stamp set.

I added some woodgrain paper at the bottom for the bench and then added the same diagonal striped paper for the walls.

I added at least one mouse to each of the windows and filled in the rest of the area using the kitchen images included in the stamp set.

For the inside of the card, I added the woodgrain paper again along the bottom of the card. I added a few of the images that I used on the front.

I added three sentiments to the upper portion of the card,  two are from the stamp set and the "Merry Christmas" was from the Car Critters Christmas Add-on set.

Have A Stellar Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Being a brand new month, it's time to introduce a new challenge hostess which is Lois Bak.

Apparently today is World UFO Day. Make a card with something from space – the sun, the moon, a planet, a UFO, a rocket ship. Or, create a galaxy background for your card.

For my challenges this month I have added a second personal challenge for all my cards, which is to create all my cards Slimline.

About a month or so ago I got Honey Bee Stamps Far Out Friends stamp set, so of course I wanted to use that for my card today.

I decided to create a double interactive Slimline card for my card today. On the front of my card I created a Flap card using Lawn Fawn's Small Slimline with Lift the Flap die set. I used the rectangle die included in this set to die cut 4 slimline rectangle panels, one having the lift a flap die cut in it. I wanted something a little different to the galaxy sky background I have created a lot for my space themed cards recently. So started by covering my card panels with purple, then dark blue around the edges and finally black. I then splattered white and liquid stardust all over the panels.

I layered the panels to a black slimline rectangle panel which was die cut using the plain rectangle included in Trinity Stamps Scalloped Card Panels and Banners die set.

I die cut the star included in the Lawn Fawn Slimline die set, three times and added that to each of the flaps. I also stamped a sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps Stellar Sentiments and added this under each of the stars.

When you lift each of the flaps it reveals space creatures which are from Honey Bee Stamps Far Out Friends stamp set.

When you open the card, it reveals a space themed pop-up scene. All stamps used in the scene are from the Honey Bee Stamps Far Out Friends stamp set. I used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set to create the pop-up at the top right hand side of the card. I added the astronaut to the pop-up, so it looks like he is floating in space.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Peek A Boo Slimline

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing an interactive slimline card with you that I created recently.

This card using the new Lawn Fawn Small Slimline with Lift the Flap and Large Slimline with Sliders die sets. I die cut the Lift the Flap die from white cardstock and then applied color to the panel using Catherine Pooler Daydream ink. I then used the Taylored Expressions Puppy Love Stencil to add the paw prints in brown and the hearts in white.

I layered the decorated panel onto a brown cardstock and then used the large stitched slimline die from the large die set for the base of the card.

I used the Mama Elephant Zodiac Dogs stamp set to decorate the flaps etc.

When you lift the flaps it reveals puppy balloons, bones and sentiments. The sentiments used here are from The Ton's Easy Expressions Birthday stamp and coordinating die sets.

For the inside of the card I added a narrow stencilled panel along the bottom of the card. I added another of the dogs and the puppy balloon to the right hand side of the card.

I also added a birthday sentiment to the centre of the card.
