Dragonfly Dreams

This card was created as a challenge between a few friends from SCS. Each week we will be creating a card based on a challenge set by one of the members of our small group - this is just a fun thing we have decided to do. I enjoy challenges as they help you extend yourself, whether is a stamping challenge or some other challenge in life.

The challenge for this particular card was based on colors - we had to create a card using the colors: Cool Caribbean; Chocolate Chip; Certainly Celery & Neutrals. As my bugs and kisses set was still on the table behind me I decided to see what I could come up with using the dragonfly from that set.

I stamped the dragonfly randomly over the white card using chocolate chip ink and then colored with my alcohol markers. I used both blue & green markers coloring over the originally color this gives the color a two tone effect - you can see mostly blue but when the card is at an angle you do see a slight hint of green. I then covered the entire panel with versamark ink and embossed it with iridescent ice embossing powder. This panel was then layered onto the cool caribbean & chocolate chip card.

I stamped the leaf background onto the folded certainly celery card using certainly celery ink. The verse was stamped on white card using choc chip ink and trimmed before attaching to the right side of the dragonfly panel. The panel was then layered to the folded card. Finally I attached the blue eyelets across the top of the card.

Recipe: Stamps: Bugs & Kisses - Stampin' Up; Leaf Background - Cornish Heritage Farms; Verse - Impression Obsession
Paper: Cool Caribbean; Certainly Celery; Chocolate Chip - Stampin' Up; White
Other: Chocolate Chip & Certainly Celery Ink - SU; Iridescent Ice Ep - SU; Blue Eyelets

I didn't think I "needed" this set until I saw this card. I love it!!! The eyelets across the top are the perfect touch.
