Happy Halloween!

c4c-spooky-1-wm

Happy Halloween everyone, I hope you all have a spooktacular day! It is time for another challenge with the Crazy 4 Challenges girls!

This week our October challenge hostess Vicki Garrett has given us another great challenge! As it is Halloween today the challenge is “Very Scary - create our finest Halloween creations”.

Halloween isn’t as big a thing down here in Australia as it is up in the USA, but I do love creation Halloween projects. Every now and then we may get someone knocking at the door so my DD and I normally make sure we have some treats to give out just in case. But more often then not we don’t get any trick or treaters. Today being that Halloween falls on a Saturday maybe we will get some visit … I will find out in just a few more hours here hehe!

c4c-spooky2-wm I ended up creating two things for this challenge … first up my card using this cute digital image from The Greeting Farm “Penny Witch”, isn’t she just the cutest witch you ever did see hehe! I used the Martha Stewart Spider Web border punch to create the border at the top and bottom of my card.

C4C-Spooky-wm

I just couldn’t stop at just as card …. because I found these fun Halloween treats in my local shop …. I just love those eyeballs and that severed finger too LOL … so of course I needed a treat bag to hold them in. So I made a little one using one of my sizzix dies.

The fun thing about digital images is that you can print them out at whatever size you need so the witch on the basket is printed out a little smaller than that of the card so that it was the correct size of the basket.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the C4C Designers cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.

Doesn’t Every Girl Like To Feel Prettie!

PP-Sassy-Shoes-wm

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Yeap it is me back singing again hehe … just as well you can’t actually hear me sing now THAT would be scary hehe!

Today I have another Paper Pretties sneak peek to share with you. As you may have read in my Pretties Tuesday post, this month we thought we'd have some fun and give you a chance to win the new releases. Since our Pretties stamps are some our favorite things, our peeks will be based on the lyrics to A Few Of My Favorite Things.

Each day two or three of the Prettie Girls will upload their challenge cards based on a new lyric. If you stop by the Pretties Gallery and leave that Prettie Girl a comment on what your 'FAVORITE THING' about her card is, you'll have a chance to win the new set that has been used in that challenge - make sense? The contest will end November 2nd and the winners will be posted on the Paper Clip. You can find the link to the specific cards in the Paper Pretties gallery on each blog post.

Julie Masse & Heather Lee-Reppen will also be posting a sneak peek on their blog today (Friday) so make sure you check them out too for even more chances of winning prizes.

Don't forget to stop on by the party in the Paper Pretties forum on November 1st at 8pm EST when all the stamps will be released for sale.

For my card today the part of the lyrics I had to use was : schnitzel with noodles (yikes!)

Anyway after some thought about this one I remembered that saying “tough as shoe leather” which basically means that something is difficult to cut or eat! As luck would have it one of the sets that Paper Pretties is releasing this month is called “Sassy Shoes” so I decided that that would be the set I would use for this particular sneak peek/challenge and that my schnitzel would just have to be tough hehehe!  Definitely don’t eat this schnitzel :) . That sorted I still had the noodles to figure out … I guess I could have used Paper Pretties “Flirty Fortunes” set, but as that had nothing to do with shoes I didn’t. Instead I used the ribbon as my noodles …. you can get flat noodles. I threaded it onto my card like you would a pair of shoes! Phew!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t forget to comment on my card in the Paper Pretties gallery for your chance to win the “Sassy Shoes” stamp set used on my card.

Bubbles Bubbles Everywhere!

pwc75-bubbles2-wm

Hi everyone!
It is time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge & Blog Hop. If you didn't hop onto my blog via Christi Thorsen's blog then you might want to hop back over to the very start of the blog hop which is at Christie Ortman's blog.

This week our challenge was issued by Julie Masse. Her challenge was to create a card using a clean and simple layout.  Our challenge to you is to chose any one of the layouts the Prettie Girls are showing off and make a card with it.

Yike everyone is making me do clean and simple this month … it is a conspiracy I tell ya hehe. Anyway I hope this passes for clean and simple, I found this layout from Clean & Simple Stamping here.

I used Bubble Time Sophia which will be the Paper Pretties SOTM for December …. isn’t she just too much fun!!!!! Along the right edge of my image, I used  Martha Stewarts Scallop Edge Border Punch. I thought the EK Success Swiss Cheese border punch looked a little bit like bubbles too so I added that to the pink panel on the right of my image.

pwc75-bubbles-wm I kept the inside of my card very simple too!

Sending You A Big Bear Hug!

pp-bear-hugs-wm

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Welcome to our Prettie Peeks for Paper Pretties November Release!

So why am I singing today?? This month we thought we'd have some fun and give you a chance to win the new releases. Since our Pretties are some our favorite things, our peeks will be based on the lyrics to A Few Of My Favorite Things.

So, lets get started!

Christie Ortman, Danielle Lounds & Heather Lee-Reppen posted their first card to their blogs yesterday. Julie Masse & Jackie Rakoski are also posting a card today. Make sure you go and check out their cards and see what their lyric was. Don’t forget to click on the link included on their blog post which will take you to the Paper Pretties gallery …. leave a comment in the gallery for your chance to win!

Don't forget to stop on by the party in the Paper Pretties forum on November 1st at 8pm EST when all the stamps will be released for sale.

Ok onto my card, the lyric I had to use for my card today was:

Brown paper packages tied up with strings.

When I first saw the challenge, I thought YIKES!!!!!! But after a little thought this one wasn’t too hard at all. After looking at what sets are to be released this month I thought that “Beary Best” would be perfect for it. After all couldn’t the bear have been in one of those brown paper packages …. or what about the stamp set itself hehe :) … I think I am liking brown paper packages more and more!

The packages I used here are from the Paper Pretties “Home Sweet Home” set. As I only wanted the packages not the printing on the boxes I used a black marker to outline my boxes and stamped them on brown paper. I then added string to my boxes and attached it to the scene I created here. The floor is hand drawn. I used the same designer paper for my wallpaper and the panel on the left lining up the stripes.

Before you go don’t forget to comment on my card in the Paper Pretties gallery for your chance to win the “Beary Best” stamp set used on my card.

Never Stop Sparkling!

TPE-sparkling-wm

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. It is time for another The Pink Elephant challenge. This week the challenge is a recipe challenge, we had to use the color black, distressing and hardware … not too hard!

For my card I used Stamping Bella’s “addy tude Loves to sparkle”.

As you can see I have plenty of black in my card, the 2nd layer of the circle and the black in my designer paper that I used. For the distressing I sponged distressing ink on my white layers and also used my distressing tool to rough up the designer paper & 2nd layer. I also had to include hardware … brads are hardware and I also added a tiny clip thingy to my sentiment. I also added sewing around the edge of my card and with a sentiment like “never stop sparkling” …. I just had to add some bling hehe. I added pearls to her earrings and a crystal to her ring.

Don’t forget to check out The Pink Elephant blog to see what the rest of the design team have created this week.

Hoo- Ray!

thinking-of-hoo-tin-wm

Hello and Hoo-Ray!

It’s time for another CCEE Stampers challenge today!

This week our challenge is a supply challenge. Tosh who is the October Challenge Hostess sent each of us this cute little mini lunch tin with the instructions to decorate and fill! Not too hard :)

I used the stamps and designer paper from this months MFT Stamps Kit of the month called Thinking of Hoo! Of course anyone who knows me knows I love owls so of course I couldn’t wait for my kit to arrive.

I stamped the owl and speech bubble onto MFT Stamps White Perfect Paper Panels and cut them out and attached them over the designer paper that I covered my tin with using foam tape.

thinking-of-hoo-tin-in-wm

Here is the inside of my tin. I lined my tin with the same designer paper that I used on the front of the tin and added the speech bubble and sentiment to the lid. I filled my tin with chocolate kisses … that was the easiest part hehe!

mft-guess-hoo-wm

Well after playing with the owl set to create my tin, I just couldn’t stop there. I just had to make a card using the items from the kit. I used the same designer paper as I decorated my tin. The kraft scallop card was also included in the kit as was the wide brown ribbon.

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week.

Oh before I go ….. with the holiday season fast approaching and everyone getting very busy the CCEE Stampers have decided to take a little break from our challenges. So today’s challenge will be our last until after Christmas. Have no fear we will be back in January ready to play again.

Candy Cane Kisses!

mftcps139-candycane-wm

Hi all

My card today is for this week’s CPS Sketch challenge which is sponsored by MFT Stamps.

I used images from the new Santa Baby stamp set which was released earlier in the month. I stamped the candy can onto white perfect paper panels and cut it out and then mounted it to an oval cut from cream perfect paper panels.

To create my wavy strips I used my EK Success wavy dot border punch. I cut my card to 2.5cm (approx 1 inch) punched along one side of the card starting punching from the left side of the punch and then once I had punched one side of the card I turned the card over and punched along the other side starting at the right side of the punch but at the same end of the card that I had started on the first side. This gave me a nice wavy look.

139 Here is the sketch if you would like to play along. Don’t forget to go to the CPS site and add the link to your card so everyone else can see what you created.

An Owly Christmas!

C4C8-Geometric-Christmas-wm

Hi everyone!

Are you ready for another challenge with the Crazy 4 Challenges girls!

This week our Challenge Hostess for October Vicki Garrett has given us another fun challenge. We had to create a card using at least three different geometrical shapes........Squares, Circles, Rectangles, Octagons, Triangles.......you name it, just make sure that you have three of them on!

Now at first this might look scary reading 3 different geometric shapes but then we you think about it we do this all the time so it really isn’t that hard hehe. While browsing my blogs I found a fun sketch from The Pixie Cottage which was perfect for the challenge so I decided to use that for my card.

As you can see I have a circle, 3 squares, a rectangle and then the card base which is another rectangle too. I used one of the new owl digi stamps from Pink Cat Studio … I just love those new owls!!!!!!! The image is called Christmas Stump.  It is hard to see in the photo but I added red jewels to the Christmas tree ornaments. The fancy tag at the top I cut down and rejoined so that it is the correct size for the word window punch, you can’t even see the join!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the C4C Designers cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.

Trick or Treat!

HSC92-Candy-Corn-Goth-wm

Hi everyone

It is Friday again which means it is challenge time for Hanna Stamps over on the Hanna Stamps Member Forum of SCS. This week it is Kerry Donovan-Casey’s turn to host the challenge (HSC92). Kerry’s challenge is “Spooky Somethings” a Halloween Cut Out Card i.e. in a shape of a pumpkin, haunted house etc.

As you can see my card is in the shape of a Candy Corn … that is very Halloweenish I think hehe. I cut out my shape from white card and then used my copic airbrush to add the yellow and orange colors to my card. I stamps Goth Riley, cut him out and attached him to my card using foam tape. I also used the sentiment & bat from the Trick or Treat Scarecrow set.

You Keep Me Warm!

Elzy-Z-fold-wm

Hi all!

It is release day for Elzybells Art Stamps, I am sure you are going to just love their new release stamps. I know I have had lots of fun playing with them this week.

My first card today is for this week’s Elzybells Challenge which we have every fortnight on the Elzybells Art Stamps blog. This week the challenge was “Glitter, Sparkle & Shine” … easy!

I decided to create a Z fold card for this challenge using the new “Winter Couple” stamp … aren’t they just too cute! I added glitter glue to the snow on the ground and also to the large snowflake on the top. The Sparkle is the jewel brad I used in the centre of the large snowflake and the shine .. that is the white snowflakes on the left side of my card!

Elzy-Z-fold-open-wm Here is the inside of my Z fold card …. I just love the new sentiments from Elzybells … I ended up using two of them as I thought they both worked well together.

A Halloween Treat Bucket!

pp-halloween-bucket-eyes1-w

Hi everyone!

Are you ready for another Paper Pretties Weekly Challenge & Blog Hop!

If you didn't hop onto my blog via Christi Thorsen's blog then you might want to hop back over to the very start of the blog hop which is at Christie Ortman's blog.

Ok on to our challenge! This week it was my turn to issue the challenge, and with Halloween just over a week away I thought it would be fun to create something for a Halloween Treat … it can be a bag, box, lollipop holder …. whatever you like! So that is the challenge!

Now down here where I live we don’t really celebrate Halloween … sometimes you might get someone knocking on your door so my DD or I normally make sure there is something in the house to give them just in case, but more often then not we don’t get anyone coming. But I do enjoy creating things for it anyway hehe! My DD and I have been searching for eye candy for ages and she finally found some so of course I had to use it in my bucket!

I decided to make a Pillow Box Bucket using the sizzix pillow box die, you can find a tutorial on how to create one of these on SCS here.  This was such fun to make! I used Paper Pretties “Pick of the Patch” stamp set for my bucket.

Do Not Open ‘Til Christmas!

elzy-cracker-wm

Hi all!

Welcome to day 3 of the Elzybells Art Stamps sneak peeks. These stamps and more will be released on Thursday 22nd October.

For my first project I used the Mini Messages – Christmas set to create this fun tag for my Christmas Cracker (bon bon). Christmas Crackers are a tradition at my house and I have been making my own for over 30 years (although I must admit I cheated last year …. oops), but this year I will be back making them again. I have a feeling I will be using these tags from this set this year :)

elzy-cracker-closeup-wm Here is a close up view of my tag …. I attached red crystals over the ornaments.

elzy-fauxpost-notebook-wm

My second project today is a book to keep track of my Christmas purchases this year … I used Elzybells new rubber “Faux Postage – Winter” this is a fun stamp. I also added two of the sentiments from the Mini Messages – Christmas set … I figured they both applied to the contents of the book and they both fitted on the tag so why not hehe!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Elzybell Design Team to see what they have done.

I'll be back again tomorrow with more sneake peeks and our Elzybell challenge.

Santa Baby!

mft-santa--baby-wm

Hi all!

The 20th of each month is Celebrate MFT Day ….. well that is today! So of course I wanted to make a card using MFT Stamps. My card today uses one of the new sets that was released earlier in the month. This is Santa Baby …. which is this months WTG (Who’s that Girl) set.

I paper pieced the girl dress using the same designer paper as that on the circle on the left side of the card. Santa’s beard and cuffs of his suit have had white flocking added to them. I used my new Mistletoe Kisses Cuttlebug Embossing Folder to create the background on my card.

Winter Wishes!

elzy-snowman-wm

Hi!

As promised I am back again today with some more sneak peeks of the new stamps that will be released by Elzybells Art Stamps on Thursday 22nd October.

Today I am using the Tags – Christmas set … just love this set! You can see more ideas using this set in my post I did yesterday.

If you look at both of my projects today you will notice I have used the snowmen stamps included in the set … at first glance they might look like the same stamp … but they aren’t! One the snowman is solid and the other the background is solid which means you get a different look when you stamp them.

For my first card I used the solid snowman and also one of the tiny sentiments included in this set. I stamped the snowman on blue card using white ink and then embossed it with white embossing powder. The snowmen are on the blue middle layer of the card. The top white layer I punched out the holes so the snowmen would show through … I also used the snow cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to this layer, and then attached it over the blue layer using foam tape. It is hard to tell in the photo but I also added 3 score lines down the right side and bottom of my card.

elzy-ornament-wm My second project today is a Christmas ornament and this time I used the snowman with the solid background. I stamped my snowman onto white card using navy ink. I also stamped the sentiment circle also included in this set onto white card using navy ink.

To create my ornament I used the Fleur De Lis Pendant Die from Spellbinders. I cut out two of these from navy card and sponged the edges using white ink. And then layered everything using foam tape for added dimension.

Here is a side on view of my ornament.
