Gnomebody Like You

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lois Bak, our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently September is also National Mushroom Month. Easy challenge: include a mushroom on your card.

Last year Hello Bluebird release two Slimline dies that featured mushroom, as I had purchased both of these it was a no brainer to pull one of these out to make my card today. I used the Fairy Glade Scene Horizontal Slimline die for my card. The orange/yellow background was one I created a few months back which I didn't like at the time but I kept them and when the ink had dried properly I did like. So I decided to pull one of those out for the sky area. My go to color when coloring mushrooms is red, but as you can see I decided to try something different and colored the tops of my mushrooms purple instead.

To decorate my card I used Hello Bluebird's Next Door Gnomes stamp set for the gnomes and the smaller stamped mushroom and also the Garden Party stamp set for the larger stamped mushrooms.

The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp's Happy Gnomies stamp set.

For the inside of my card I created a pop-up card using Lawn Fawn's Pop-up Hooray and Oliver's ABC's die sets

I added a grass & cloud border to the bottom and top edges of my card using Trinity Stamps Slimline Scenic Borders die set.

To decorate I added more gnomes and a stamped mushroom using the Next Door Gnomes stamp set and the large mushroom from the Slimline die used on the front of the card.

I added the "It's your birthday" sentiment using stamps from Simon Says Stamp/Reverse Confetti from a Stamptember release some years ago.

Dotsy

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Lois Bak our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

Apparently today is Lois' sister’s birthday. So in her honour we are to use something on our card that begins with each letter in her name, which is DOTSY.

I started creating this card by using the colors that go with "O" and "Y" which is Olive, Orange and Yellow. Once I have figured that part out, the card progressed from there.

Here is what I used for each of the letters:
D - Dog and Dies
O - Olive; Orange; Owl
T - Trees; Thought Bubble
S - Slimline Card; Sentiment; Sign; Squirrels; Stamps
Y - Yellow

To create my card I used Distress Oxide inks in yellows and oranges to create the sky background.

For the slimline card I used Slimline dies from Lawn Fawn including Large Slimline with Sliders; Slimline Grassy Hillside Borders.  The trees in the background are Lawn Fawn's Lift The Flap Trees die set. Inside the peek a boo openings I added an Owl and two squirrels.

To decorate my card I used images from MFT Stamps Adorable Adventures stamp set.  I added the sign to the lower right hand corner of the card. The dog is from another MFT Stamps stamp set.

I added the thought bubble to the girl using the Lawn Fawn Thought Bubble Reveal Wheel Add-on die set.

For the inside of my card, I created a pop-up card using Lawn Fawn's Hooray Pop-up die set and the Oliver's ABC to add the colored letters to the pop-up.

I added a grass border using Lawn Fawn's Slimline Grassy Hillside Borders die set to the bottom edge and the fold on either side of the pop-up.

I used more of the images that I used on the front of the card.

Along the top edge of my card I added a cloud border using Honey Bee Stamps Horizon Slimline Borders die set.

Mice Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month it's time for a new challenge hostess which is Nicky Foden.

Apparently today is World Party Day, so Nicky has requested that we create a party themed card.

As you can see, I have created a Slimline Card. I used Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Card Panels & Windows die set to die cut the background for my card front.

I used the checkered floor stamp from Picket Fence Studios Slim Line Tall Grass and Waves with Tile & Wood Floor stamp set. This is an awesome stamps set if you like scenes and I can see me using this stamp set a fair bit.

Along the top panel I used a patterned paper  from Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Strips die set to add the strip between the wall and the floor.

I recently received MFT Stamps Mice Day to Celebrate stamp set for my birthday, so I decided to pull that out to use on my card today. Those mice look like they are enjoying a party! I paper pieced the cupcake wrapper using a scrap of patterned paper.

The sentiment is also from the Mice Day to Celebrate stamp set.

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card. For the pop-up portion of the card I used Lawn Fawn's Pop-up Hooray and the Oliver's ABCs die sets.

I used the same patterned paper that I used for the front of the card on the edges of the card. I also used the fancy scallop border which is from Scrapbook.com's Slimline Borders die set. The borders in this die set are absolutely beautiful!

I decorated the inside of the card using a few left over mice and balloons that I used on the front of the card.

To finish off the card I added another of the birthday sentiments that are included in the stamp set.

Hope Your Day Rocks

Hi Crafty Friends,

IIt’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Being a brand new month it's time to introduce a new challenge hostess, which is Maryann Einam.

Apparently today is Marching Band Day – celebrate it by creating a card using this theme.

For my card today I pulled out MFT Stamps' Jungle Vibes stamp set.

I created a Slimline Card using Hello Bluebird's Winter Walk Scene die. I die cut the die from white cardstock and then used Distress Oxide inks to color all of the different pieces.

Once I had assembled all the pieces onto my card, I added the sentiment which is also included in the stamp set.

For the inside of the card, I created a pop-up Slimline Card.

I used Lawn Fawn's Pop-up Hooray die to create the pop up portion of the card. I also used the Oliver's ABCs die set to add the colored letters to the pop-up.

I used the grass and cloud dies from Mama Elephant's Slim Card Basics die set to decorate the top and bottom edges of the card.

As you can see I also added some more of the jungle animals that I used on the front of the card to decorate the inside. Finally I used two of the sentiments included in the stamp set to add to the card.

Here is a side view of the inside of the card, so you can see the pop-up portion of the card a little better.

Floral Happy Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

IIt’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  As challenge  hostess for the month, I finish off her month with one last challenge.

Tomorrow (28thFebruary) is Floral Design Day, for our challenge this week create a card that features a flower or flowers.

As you can see I have created a floral birthday Slimline Card using a Slimline die from Pinkfresh Studio.  I die cut the slimline die from white cardstock and then used Catherine Pooler's Chiffon ink to add color to the panel.

For the flowers I used Pinkfresh Studio's Daisy Wreath Stencil set, this is a set of 5 stencils that you use to build up the various colors to create the design. There is a coordinating die to die cut the finished stencilled piece, but as I don't have that yet I fussy cut around the inside and out side. I adhered those to my card using foam tape.

I added the birthday sentiment to the centre of each wreath using Altenew's Birthday Builder Stamp set and Honey Bee Stamps Banner Builder die set.

For the inside of the card I created a pop-up card using Lawn Fawn's Pop-up Hooray Die Set. I die cut the pop up from white cardstock and then used orange and yellow card to add the letters which were die cut using Lawn Fawn's Oliver's ABCs die set.

I die cut another of the Pinkfresh Studio Slimline Diagonal Stitched Plaid die and added yellow ink to that. I cut it down the centre and adhered this to both edges of the inside of the card.

To finish decorating the inside of my card I created another stencilled Daisy Wreath which I cut out and trimmed the two different flower bunches separately and added to the top and bottom of my card.

U R Great

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Being a brand new month it's time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is me!

It's Father's Day down here in Australia on the 1st Sunday in September, so for our challenge this week, let's make a masculine card …. Any occasion … any age, it's up to you.

Seeing it is Father's Day this weekend I decided to create a Father's Day card, I always need more than one each yet. I created a Slimline card using Trinity Stamps Slimline Wonky Stitched Wilderness die set and Slimline Great Outdoors Borders and Builders die set.

I used Spellbinders Truckin' Through the Seasons die set, created the truck to look a little like my husband's ute. I add wood to the back of the ute using a fence die.

I added the father's day sentiment using Waffle Flower Crafts Be Him Sentiments stamp set.

For the inside of the card I created a pop up card using Lawn Fawn's Pop-up Hooray die set and Oliver's ABCs die set. I added the clouds and grass/fence using Slimline dies from Trinity Stamps.

I added the Father's Day sentiment from Waffle Flower Stamps.

Here is a side view look for the inside of my card to see the folds of the pop up a little better.

Happy Father's Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

Day I am sharing a Father's Day card I created recently.  Father's Day isn't until September down here in Australia, and as I need a stack for my daughter's to send out I like to get an early start.
A few days ago I spent the morning using the Mama Elephant Quick Stripes die set to die cut a lot of cardstock scraps to make lots of stripes. As I had die cut a lot in blues and greens, I decided to use a few of these to make a Father's Day card. I also knew I wanted to make a pop-up card so I set too adhering stripes to some cardstock.

After adhered one of the striped backgrounds to my card front, I decorated the card using Dare 2B Artzy's Daddy Owl Stamp set. I layered the owl using circles from Hero Arts' Infinity Circles die set and I added a sentiment using ovals.

For the inside of the card I added a pop-up using Lawn Fawn's Pop-up Hooray die set. I used their Oliver's ABCs which coordinates with the letters on the pop-up to add color to the pop-up.

I cut the other piece of striped card that I created in half and added a panel to the top and bottom edges of my card.

To finish off the card, I added a sentiment from the Owl stamp set on the base.

And finally one last photo of the inside of the card, so you can see the pop-up portion of the card a little better.
