Flying By To Say

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am excited to start sharing some of the new dies which are being released by Karen Burniston next Monday 16th June,

As tomorrow (12th June) is the 5th anniversary of when I started the Slimline Card Addicts Facebook Group which now has over 9000 members, I decided to create a Slimline card.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

I created a Whirly Wheel Slimline Card using the new Whirly Wheel die set & Whirly Wheel Words stamp set. I was excited when I discovered that the Whirly wheel would inside a slimline card, This card measures 4 inches x 9 inches.

To decorate my card I created a space scene using the Rocket Pop up & Space Charms die sets. The background paper is from Whimsy Stamps.

For the inside of the card I used the new Curved Edges die set to create the planet ground, I added the spaceman & alien from the Space Charms die set. I also added the big rocket flame from the Rocket Pop up die set.

The sentiment is from the new Birthday Magic stamp set, which I layered using the frame included in the Whirly Wheel die set.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our challenge hostess for December, which is Lynn McAuley.

This is our last challenge for 2019, so everyone can enjoy spending time with family and friends over the Christmas Season. But we will be back in January for more challenges.

Our challenge this week is .... Santa Through the Window - For our last challenge Lynn is asking us to create a card that has a window. It will then be your choice on whether you want to be peeking IN on Santa or peeking OUT at Santa.

For my card today I pulled out an older CC Designs stamp, which no longer is available as a stamp, but when I went searching for a link to add to my supply list below, it is available as a digital stamp if you want it.

I have always loved the Roberto's Rascals line of stamps from CC Designs, they look so like my grandchildren and this one is a favorite too and you could say made for this challenge!!!

I stamped the image and then added a gold glittered frame over the image which uses Hero Arts Infinity Wood Frame die sets.

I then added Crafter's Companion's Santa Edge'ables die set with it's coordinating stamp underneath.

For the inside of my card I created a pop up card using Karen Burniston's - KB Riley LLC Parcel Pop-up and Rocket Pop-up die sets. I figured this could be something that Santa left after visiting the little boy that is featured on the front of the card. Which is why I added the rocket and space themed images to my parcel.

I used the flap die from the Flap & Closure die set, to die cut the two curved edges on the green dotted patterned paper.

I also added the Merry Christmas die cut to the base of my card.

Here is a  quick video to see my card in action.

Here is a side view of the inside of my card, so you can see the pop-up portion of the card a little better.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Hoping Your Birthday Is A Blast

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Waterfall Card which I created recently using Karen Burniston's Frame Pull Pop-up die set. Karen shared a way to create a waterfall card using her Frame Pull Pop-up die set. If you have this die set, you can see her video here.

For my card today I decided to use the rocket from the Rocket Pop-up and the Space Charms die set.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

The astronaut, space ship and aliens are all from the Space Charms die set.

For the background of my card I used the Nebula Washi Tape from Altenew. This makes a quick and easy space themed background.

To create the moon surface I used the pop-up portion of the die from the Rocket Pop-up die set and also the Moon Background from Whimsy Stamps which I used on the card base.

The sentiment on the Waterfall part of the card are from Whimsy Stamps A Boy's Dream stamp set.

For the planets around the base of the card I used stamps from There She Goes Stamps Out of This World stamp set and also MFT Stamps Space Explorer stamp set.

On the back of the card I added a white panel which I decorated using the Whimsy Stamps Moon Background stamp and also added the Rocket from the Rocket Pop-up die set. I added an astronaut to the inside of the rocket which you can see peeking out of the window.

I also added a sentiment which is from the stamp set from There She Goes, which is discontinued.

So Fly

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another pop-up card I created recently. Last week I shared a card I created using Karen Burniston's Rocket Pop-up die set that will be shipping mid July. Well after making that card I was wondering whether it could be used with a plane rather than a rocket. Of course I had to disguise the flames and moon surface, so I cover those up using clouds.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

The pop-up clouds, look greyish on this photo but they are white in real life, with a little blue around the edges.

The plane is Neat and Tangled's So Fly Clear stamp set.

To create the background I used Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky and Chipped Sapphire. After adding the colors to my panels, I then used MFT Stamps Mini Cloud Stencil and Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment ink to add clouds over the panel.

Along the bottom of the card, I used the scallop/cloud border from Karen Burniston's Nature Edges die set to create bushes and then I added grey cardstock for a road.

On the left hand side of the card I added this cute dog riding a scooter, this is from Gerda Steiner Designs VROOMING Clear Stamp set.

I added a couple of large clouds to the background panels and then added two sentiments from the So Fly stamp set.

For the front of the card, I repeated a few of the elements used on the inside of the card and added a little girl with binoculars.

Have An Out Of This World Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another pop-up card using two of the new die sets which are being released by Karen Burniston (KB Riley) this month.

The Rocket and moon are from the Rocket Pop-up die set and all the aliens, the space man and small space ship are all from the Space Charms die set.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

I used the Crosshatch - Rectangles die set to create the rectangle panels for my card.

For the rocket I used various colors of cardstock to make it. I also added an astronaut that you can see from the window of the rocket, this is from the Space Charms die set.

I die cut the moon pop up panel and other moon pieces at the bottom of the card using white cardstock and then colored using Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks.

I added a couple of aliens also from the Space Charms.

The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Beam Me Up which is stamped onto a rectangle from the Crosshatch Rectangles die set.

Here is a close up of the left hand side of my card, as you can see I created a window card. Karen Burniston shares how to do this in her how to video she created. I also added a few more aliens and an alien in a spaceship.

I kept the front of the card fairly simple as the focus is on the inside of the card. When the card is closed you can see the rocket through the opening.

I added another moon surface and another alien and a sentiment also from the Lawn Fawn stamp set.

One more view of my card from the front, this time when it is partially open.
