Hoping Your Birthday Is A Blast

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Waterfall Card which I created recently using Karen Burniston's Frame Pull Pop-up die set. Karen shared a way to create a waterfall card using her Frame Pull Pop-up die set. If you have this die set, you can see her video here.

For my card today I decided to use the rocket from the Rocket Pop-up and the Space Charms die set.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

The astronaut, space ship and aliens are all from the Space Charms die set.

For the background of my card I used the Nebula Washi Tape from Altenew. This makes a quick and easy space themed background.

To create the moon surface I used the pop-up portion of the die from the Rocket Pop-up die set and also the Moon Background from Whimsy Stamps which I used on the card base.

The sentiment on the Waterfall part of the card are from Whimsy Stamps A Boy's Dream stamp set.

For the planets around the base of the card I used stamps from There She Goes Stamps Out of This World stamp set and also MFT Stamps Space Explorer stamp set.

On the back of the card I added a white panel which I decorated using the Whimsy Stamps Moon Background stamp and also added the Rocket from the Rocket Pop-up die set. I added an astronaut to the inside of the rocket which you can see peeking out of the window.

I also added a sentiment which is from the stamp set from There She Goes, which is discontinued.

May The Trolls Be With You

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our challenge hostess for the month, which is me!

Tomorrow, 3rd May is International Space Day and the 4th May is Star Wars Day. So our challenge this week is to create space themed cards.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

For my card today I created a Wiper Card using the Mama Elephant Wiper Surprise die. For the back panel of my card I created a galaxy look using Altenew's Watercolor Nebula Washi Tape, this tape is about 7 inches wide and makes a quick and easy space background.

For the front portion of the card I stamped Whimsy Stamps' Moon Background onto white cardstock and then coloured using grey markers, I then die cut this panel using the main wiper surprise die.

To decorate my card I used Craftin' Desert Diva's Troll Wars, I think you can recognise many of the characters from the ever popular Star Wars. When you pull the card at the sides the villain pops up from behind the moons surface.

For the back of the card I added another panel, stamping the moon onto the cardstock and adding two more of the characters and a sentiment.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Love You To The Moon and Back

Hi Crafty Friends,

My card today is for a challenge I do with a couple of friends of mine. Each month we challenge each other to create something using supplies we all own.

As this is our first challenge for the year and just after Christmas, our challenge this month was to create a card using anything new.

As I had just received the Sunny Studio Stamps Sliding Window Card die set and some fun space themed stamps from Whimsy Stamps, I decided to combine the two to create my card.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

To create my card I started by covering a piece of white cardstock with Altenew's Watercolor Nebula Washi tape, this washi tape is about 6 inches wide and gives a great galaxy or space background without lots of work.

I die cut the washi tape cardstock using the largest rectangle from Heffy Doodles Imperial Stitched Rectangles die set. Next I used the main die from Sunny Studio  Stamps Sliding Window die set to die cut the centre of the panel.

For the moon I used Whimsy Stamps Moon Background stamp. I seem to make a few spaced themed cards each year and I know this stamp will get a work out in the future. I do have another moon surface type of stamp however this one is much deeper so a must have for me.

I stamped the moon background onto thinner white cardstock and colored the image and cut around the top edge of the moon. I then lay this over my card where I knew I wanted it to lay and used the same rectangle die to die cut the image so the stitched lines where on both the washi taped background and the moon.

Next I lay the moon back over the card and positioned the sliding window die back over where I cut it on the washi card panel and die cut the lower section of the sliding window portion.

I cut a rectangle panel which also had washi tape on it the same size as the sliding window and then adhere the moon to both this panel and around the bottom of my main card.

I constructed the card as per the instructions provided on Sunny Studio Stamps web site.

To decorate the card I used Whimsy Stamps Space Dragon for the main image on the panel that moves up. This image is also adhered to the panel using a action wobble so this gives the image some extra movement.

The sentiments and all other images used on this card are from Whimsy Stamps A Boy's Dream.

For this style of card you have the option of either mounting the sliding window to the front of a folded card or keeping it flat by just adhering it to a piece of cardstock. I decided to just adhere my card to a flat black rectangle panel so my card could be displayed as per the photos in this post.

Of course I still had to decorating the back of my card (it's what I do LOL!) so I added the moon, and a few more of the images from the A Boy's Dream stamp set.

You Are Bloomin' Gorgeous

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am playing with a few new "toys" I got last year to create a pop-up card.

I used Altenew's Build A Flower - Poppy Clear Stamp set and coordinating dies to create the flowers for this card. I love how easy it is to add the various layers to the poppies.

For the background of the card I used Altenew's Dotted Washi Tape which I die cut using Hero Arts Infinity Rectangles die set.

Over the top of the washi tape I used the largest of the shapes in MFT Stamps Blueprints 33 die set.

For the inside of my card I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set. I used the two smaller shapes from the MFT Stamps Blueprints 33 die set on either edge of the card, using the washi tape used on the front on the smallest shape.

The sentiment is from a Honey Bee Stamps stamp set.

Here is another photo of the inside of my card this time taken at a different angle so you can see the pop-up portion of the card.

Jingle Bells

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Christmas card I made using some stamps and dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

For the base of the card I used Altenew's Watercolor Nebula Washi Tape which I adhered to white cardstock. I then die cut this using a rectangle die from the Dashing Rectangles die set.

Along the bottom of the card I added some clouds using the cloud die from the Adventure Edges die set.

I added the "Jingle Bells" sentiment to the bottom cloud.

The reindeer is from Reindeer Clear Stamp set with coordinating dies. After die cutting the reindeer, I used a kraft knife to remove some of the excess white in between the antlers and the ribbon as I wanted more of the background to show through.

I then adhere my panel to a folded white card base.

For the inside of the card I added a sentiment from the Holiday Cheer Clear Stamp set and added some bells above and below the sentiment which are also included in the Reindeer Clear Stamp set.

Thinking of YOU-CALYPTUS

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another card I created recently using Altenew Washi Tape. This tape is so pretty and it is so much fun using it.

To decorate my card I pulled out Gerda Steiner's You're Koalafied Clear Stamp set.

On the upper portion of the card I used Lawn Fawn's Reverse Stitched Circles die set to die cut the circle cut out. I created a background using Tumbled Glass & Stormy Sky Distress Oxide ink.

I added a second sentiment onto a piece of cardstock which was die cut using fishtail dies. I added the two koalas which I adhered on top of each other.

For the inside of my card I added another strip of Washi Tape and then added two of the sentiments from the stamp set and another koala.

You Are Wonderful

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I have a quick birthday card to share with you today.

Have you seen all the wonderful washi tapes that Altenew sell???? They have some amazing ones, and I couldn't resist purchasing a few from their recent washi tape release. For my card today I used the Painted Fantasy Washi Tape.

After applying the washi tape to some cardstock and die cutting the panel so it would fit on a standard sized card, I then used the Simon Says Stamp Frames die set to create three panels with the one in the middle being thin. I then die cut a piece of bright pink cardstock using the same die and pieced the two larger washi tape panels and the thin pink frame to the top of my folded card.

I added a butterfly to the bottom right hand corner of the card. I stamped the sentiment which is from the Concord & 9th Songbirds stamp set to a piece of black cardstock using white embossing powder.

To finish off the front of the card I added pink jewels.

For the inside of the card I added another frame die cut using the Frames die set and washi tape. I hand cut a couple of flowers from the washi tape and added it to the top left hand corner of the card.

The birthday sentiment is from the A Way With Words - Happy Birthday 3 die set available from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
