Heart on A String …. Let’s Hop & Shop!

MFT-Jolinne-Heartstrings-wm

It’s release day over on MFT Stamps, which means it is time to join the MFT Stamps Design Team for another "Blog Hop and Shop!".

The hop started at Kim's (MFT Lady) blog so if you didn’t start from there you may want to head over there now so that you can start at the beginning of the hop. You don't want to miss anything and believe me there is lots to see!

Today I am featuring the new Jolinne stamp set that is being released today:

Jolinne Heart on A String - $15.95

I stamped this image twice onto white card, the first one I cut into a rectangle cutting out part of the balloon. The second set I cut out both the girl and the heart balloon individually. The girl I attached over the girl on the rectangle piece using foam tape. For the balloon after coloring it in I added a layer of dimensional magic over it to give the balloon a glossy look.

MFT-Jolinne-Heartstrings2-w

Here is the inside of my card using one of the sentiments that is included in the set.

MFT-Get-Well-Duo-wm

My next 2 projects feature the new PI Best Medicine - $9.00

MFT-Get-Well-wm

Doesn’t this little girl look just so cute dressed in her nurses outfit … just perfect for get well cards that we need every so often.

MFT-Get-Well2-wm

Let’s not forget the inside of my card, here I used another of the sentiments included in the set.

MFT-Getwell-box2-wm

Finally I used my cricut & SCAL to create a Tall Round Cookie Box using a template I purchased online. I thought that would be an perfect to add a little get well gift to go with my card.

Once Upon A Time ….

PWC102-Onceuponatime-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s time for another Pretties Wednesday Challenge & Blog Hop.  If you didn't hop onto my blog via Jackie Rakoski's blog then you might want to hop back over to the very start of the blog hop which is at Christie Ortman's blog.

This week being the 1st Wednesday of the month, it is my turn to host the challenge which of course is a sketch challenge.

This week the Design Team are using “Story Time Sophia” and “Aloha Sophia” which are both the stamp sets that are on special this week … 35% off!

It is funny how I haven’t created a circle card in ages and here I go this week posting two of them in a row!!

For my card I used “Story Time Sophia” and also “Soakin’ Up The Sun” because I wanted Sophia to be sitting under a tree while she was ready her book hehe! After stamping Sophia, I masked her and stamped my tree and then I used my copic airbrush to create the sky and ground areas.

I again used my cricut to cut out the main layers of my card, but this time round I used the SCAL program.

PWC102

Want to play along with us

How to Enter: Create a card/project using the challenge above and any Paper Pretties stamp set(s) you have. Upload your project to the Paper Pretties gallery. Please include it in the Weekly Challenges category and use keyword PWC102.

MFTeasers - Day 5

MFT-TopShelfduo-wm

Hi again,

I have another couple of MFTeasers to share with you all today. If you missed my previous post from today which was this month’s MFT sketch challenge scroll down after you have finished here to see yet another MFTeaser.

First up I have two projects using the new WTG set for May which is called “Top Shelf” … there are a number of different images included in the set that you can use to fill the shelves. This time round I decided to use the cosmetics. This set along with all the other stamps to be released this month will be available from MFT Stamps after the release party tonight, Wednesday 5th May.

MFT-TopShelfbecause-wm

First up my card, as you can see I paper pieced the dress the girl is wearing. The layout of the card uses a sketch from The Sweet Stop (SSS52)

MFT-TopShelfbecause2-wm

For the inside of my card I used one of the sentiments from the “Top Shelf Sentiments” set which is an additional set that contains sentiments that work with the WTG “Top Shelf” set. I am sure this set will work with lots of other sets we all own too :)

MFT-TopShelfbox4-wm

I decided that I would also create a box that I could use to put some cosmetics or such in so that the card and gift matched. So I used my cricut and create this box from a template I purchased online.

MFT-TopShelfbox-wm

Here is another view of my box so you can see the lid a little better.

Stamps: Top Shelf; Top Shelf Sentiments – MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Pink; Red; DP – Imaginisce
Other: Black Ink; Square & Oval Nestabilities; Red Grosgrain Ribbon; Buttons; Word Window Punch; My Scrap Chick Box Template; SCAL; Cricut; Red Brads; Foam Tape; Copics

MFT-Thanks-wm

I have one more card to share with you before I go. This time I am using the new “Thanks A Bunch” sentiment set, which is the new Triple Scoop set for May.

There are many reasons why we might want to send someone a Thank You card and this set fits the bill!

MFT-Thanks2-wm

Here is the inside of my Thank You card … I decided to thank someone for their friendship! I didn’t extend my designer paper all the way to the end of the purple layer as I wanted the purple to show through when my card was closed, as you can see if you look at my first pic of my Thank You card.

Don’t forget to visit Kim’s blog any time after 11AM EST to get the list of which Design Team members are also featuring these sets on their blogs today.

Stamps: Thanks A Bunch Sentiment Set – MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Pink; Purple; DP – My Memories

Hi everyone,

This month it is my turn to host the challenge! I used one of the new Fred Bear stamp sets which are to be released tomorrow night (Wednesday 5th April), this one is called “Fred Bear has a Birthday” …. what a fun birthday set!

MFTWSC050510-Fred2-wm

MFTeasers – Day 4

MFT-Giggle-wm

Hi everyone,

Are you ready to see some more MFTeasers???? Today the MFT Stamps Design Team are featuring another three sets that will be released by MFT Stamps this coming Wednesday 5th May.

The new sets being featured today are: “Meet Emma & Wyatt”; “Jolinne Heart on A string” and “Clearly Sentimental About Fathers

My first card today uses “Meet Emma & Wyatt”, aren’t they just adorable …. these two are separate images so you can decide whether you want to use one or both on your card and how you use them. I decided to stamp mine and cut them out and position them on my card so that they were holding hands.

The designer paper I used here is the new Stephanie Fizer Papers - Sheltering Tree. I just love this paper especially that cloud paper that I used behind Emma and Wyatt. I added grass using the green paper in this set and my grass punch.

The embellishments in the lower right hand corner of my card are from the Glittered Garnishes - Chocolate Kiss pack.

MFT-Giggle2-wm

Here is my inside of my card using the same layout as the outside. There are quite a number of different sentiments you can select from.

Stamps: Meet Emma & Wyatt – MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Brown; Green; Sheltering Tree Digi Papers – MFT Stamps
Other: Black Ink; MS Grass Border Punch; MS Cloudy Hearts Border Punch; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Green Button; Chocolate Kiss Glittered Garnishes; Foam Tape; Copics

MFT-Fatherday-wm

My next card uses some of the sentiments from the new “Clearly Sentimental About Father’s” which is also being released. It’s not Father’s Day until September down here in Australia, but I know up in the Northern Hemisphere it is in June so this set will be perfect to create those Father’s Day cards you might need.

MFT-Fatherday2-wm

Here is the inside of my card which is the same as my outside except for the sentiment and the size of my oval.

Dancing in Circles!

Riley-Dance-wm

Hi everyone,

The Riley and Company Design Team are back with another challenge to share with you today. This week our challenge hostess is Silke Kittmann who challenged us to create a circle card.

I love circle cards but don’t make them often enough so I had fun with this challenge. To create my layers for my card I used the circle card from the Cricut “Wild Cards” cartridge. The layout of my card is based on a previous Mojo Monday sketch challenge (Mojo127).

I used Ballet Sophie to create my card, this is an unusual color combo for me, I just had to play with my new designer paper I got recently … just love the colors in the paper.

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the Design Teams blogs today so see what they created for this challenge.

Stamps: Ballet Sophie – Riley and Company; Sentiment – Just Rite Stamps
Paper: White; Peach; Dark Blue; DP – Kaisercraft
Other: Black Ink; Cricut; Wild Card Cartridge; Blue Grosgrain Ribbon; Button; Blue Brad; Foam Tape; Copics

Today the MFT Design team are featuring the “Pure Innocence” range, there will actually be three brand new Pure Innocence girls to be released … you are going to love them!!!!!!

I have always loved beach themed stamps (I have quiet a collection) so I was excited to see that this little PI girl was going to the beach too! This set is called “PI - Beach Bum

MFT-PI-Bucket2-wm

As soon as I saw this set I had a large bucket shaped card in my head so I opened up my new SCAL program and played and came up with this bucket card. This is actually the first thing I have designed from scratch and actually cut out and used.

MFT-PI-Bucketcloseup-wm

I used the beach border punch twice to create the sand area that the little PI girl is playing in. The little girls outfit is paper pieced.

April Showers Bring May Flowers!

Alota-bugsflowers-wm

Hi All!

It’s time for another challenge over on the  Alota Rubber Stamps blog. Our challenge hostess this week is Andrea Pierron.

This stamp so reminded me of that saying “April Showers Bring May Flowers”, especially as this month the theme for our Alota Challenge is “Flowers”.

My card uses one of the very first stamps I purchased from Alota Rubber Stamps all those years ago, and I still love it! This is “Rainy Day Friends”, this stamp actually comes in both a large and a small version. I used the large version for my card.

I used one of the new Martha Stewart PATP punches to create the border on the right and bottom of my image …  it’s called Modern Garland.

Do you want to play along???? you can use any stamps you want, although if you have Alota Rubber Stamps we would love to see them on your cards.

You have until the 15th May (11.59 pm US Pacific time) to complete this challenge, you can enter as many entries as you wish for a better chance of winning!!! You have a chance of winning some wonderful stamps if you card/project is selected randomly from all the entries received.

Paper: White; Green; Pink; DP – Basic Grey

For my first card I used the new MFT Stamps “Rainfall Flopsey”, doesn’t he look cute with his gumboots and umbrella. I used Cindy’s C4C sketch for the layout of my card. Recently on a shopping trip I found this fun designer paper which of course I had to use with this card.

MFT-Rainfall2-wm

Here is the inside of my card. For both the oval panels on the front & inside of my card I stamped the cloud stamp that comes in the set while the nestabilities dies was still in place. I then created masks for all my clouds and used my copic airbrush to create my sky, first using a blue copic and then going back over slightly with a grey copic.
