Say Cheese!

CCEE1447SayCheese1wm

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week Maryann Einam continues as our challenge hostess for the month.

Maryann has asked us to create a card using photos, photo stamps etc.

CCEE1447SayCheese2wm

While shopping at my favorite craft supply shop recently I spied this fun designer paper which I was determined to use on my card this week. As you can see I have created a Pop Up Card using the Lorna Label Pop Up Card  Die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

To decorate my card I used Photo themed dies from MFT Stamps … the camera; film strip etc.

CCEE1447SayCheese3wm

Here is a side on view of my card. This card looks so much better in person that it does in the photos.

CCEE1447SayCheesewm

For the front of my card I have used the Instraframe and a la mode stamp from MFT Stamps.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Hi everyone,

It's time for another CHF challenge over on the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog.  This week the challenge is hosted by Kelly.

This time round Kelly has challenged us to use the color brown and create a card of gratitude/thankfulness’'.

CHF66Thankswm

For my card this week I have used Cornish Heritage Farms Flower Jar Digital Stamp.

CHF66Thanks2wm

It’s been a while since I have played with my Sizzix Pop N Cuts dies designed by Karen Burniston as I have been having soooooo much fun playing with her Pop It Ups Dies available from Elizabeth Craft Designs. But this seemed the perfect opportunity to use the Thanks Pop Up Insert.

    Cracker of a Christmas!

    C4C262Cracker1wm

    Hello everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week I continue to issue the challenges.

Being the third Saturday of the month it is time for a sketch challenge.

    C4C262

    C4C262Crackerwm

For my card this week I used this cute dog on a cracker from Crafter’s Companion. I made my on candy dots which I used on the lower right hand corner of my card using the dots that are left over when you die cut the dot frame edge from the Fancy Seasons Frame Edges die set. I applied some adhesive tape to the back of my card before die cutting the frame edge and then I layered 2 or 3 of the dots together and covered the dots with glossy accents.

    C4C262Cracker2wm

For the inside of my card I used the Lorna Label Pop Up Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I added the tiny crackers which are also included in the stamp set with the dog plus a sentiment I have had for sometime which I liked better than the one in the stamp set.

    C4C262Cracker3wm

Here is a side view of my card so you can see the pop up part of the card a little easier.

    Christmas Tag Card

    Hi everyone,

It's my turn to post a project over on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today. As you can see by the photo above I am sharing another Christmas card with you today. There are so many different ways to use the new Tags & More dies that I just need to keep playing with them, so for my card today I have used the new Tags & More 2 - Deco set to create a side folded card.

Here is how I created my card:

    1. Cut a piece of red card so it measures approx 7 1/2 inches x 7 inches (we will be cutting this down so it doesn't need to be exact). Fold the card in half so it measures 3 1/2 inches x 7 1/2 inches.

    2. Position the main tag die from the Tags & More 2 - Deco set so that the left side of the die is beyond the fold line so it doesn't cut the fold when die cut. Hold in place with some low tac tape and run through your die cutting machine.

    3. Use your trimmer to trim down the right hand side of the card so the edge is level with the part of the tag which was cut by the die.

    4. Open your folded tag card up and position the decorative overlay from the Tags & More 2 - Deco set so the hole in the overlay lines up with the hole in the tag and also lined up with the tag shape of the card. Run this through your die cutting machine.

    5. Trim the bottom of the tag card so it measures 6 5/8 inches.

    6. Open your folded tag card up and place the front of the card into the Sprigs Embossing Folder, position the card so that the embossing does not cover the decorative top part of your tag card. Emboss using your die cutting machine.

    7. Highlight the embossing on the front of the card by sponging over Galaxy Gold Brilliance Ink.

    8. Die cut a diamond shape reinforcement from the Tags & More 2 - Deco set from green card and adhere this over the hole on the front of the tag.

    9. Cut a piece of white card and a piece of Elizabeth's Transparent Double Sided Tape Sheet  that are approx 3 1/4inches x 4 inches. Remove the release sheet from one side of the tape sheet and set it aside upside down on your desk (shiny side up). Adhere the Double Sided Tape sheet to the piece of white card.

    10. From the Christmas Ornaments Sceneries Peel-Off Stickers remove the Bird Ornament; two Holly Sprigs and the Ribbon. Place your pieces sticky side up onto the release sheet that we set aside earlier.

    11. Take your white card and place it with the adhesive side facing down onto the release sheet with the Peel-Offs on it. The Peel-Offs will lift from the release sheet and stick to the adhesive on the card stock.

    12. Turn your card so the release sheet is now on top. Take off the release sheet and make sure not to touch the images on the adhesive.

    13. Cover the adhesive with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and polish with your finger. You can see a video Els created using this technique here. Color your images as desired.

    14. Cut out all pieces and attach to the middle section of the card as per photo at the top.

    15. Cut a piece of white card which is approx 3 inches x 3 1/2 inches. (TIP: I always cut my card slightly bigger than I need so I can trim down when the card is covered with glitter so any blemishes around the edges of card can be removed.

    16. Lay a length of 10 mm Elizabeth's Transparent Double Sided Tape diagonally onto the white card as per first photo above. Next lay a length of 3 mm Elizabeth's Transparent Double Sided Tape next to the 10 mm piece so it is butted up close. Add an additional length of 3 mm Double Sided Tape next to the first piece. Then lay a piece of 6 mm Elizabeth's Transparent Double Sided Tape next to the 3 mm piece. Continue placing the tape onto the card until it is completely covered. Trim excess tape off around the edges of the card. (TIP: You may want to remove some of the excess tape from the edges while you are laying out the tape to make it easier to lift off your work surface when finished cover completely with tape)

    17. Randomly remove the protective backing from the covered card and then every third piece of tape after that, being careful not to touch the adhesive you are uncovering. When you have removed the backing from the tape for the first color, cover the adhesive with Soft Green Silk Microfine Glitter. Brush off any excess glitter from the card, and polish the glitter on the card before continuing to next step.

    18. Remove the protective backing from every third piece of tape next to the Soft Green pieces and this time cover with Forest Green Silk Microfine Glitter. Repeat steps as per step 17.

    19. Remove the remaining protective backing from the tape on the card and cover with True Red Silk Microfine Glitter.

    20. Trim card so it measures 1 1/2 inches x the width of the tag. (You may want to attach the striped glittered card to the tag and trim off excess width). Reserve any extra striped glittered card for the inside of your card.

    21. Use black lines from the Black Lines Peel-Off Stickers to embellish the glittered card. (TIP: Look at your glittered piece and if you have areas that may not have been glittered select these areas to cover with the Line Peel-Off Stickers.

    22. Use the Black Ribbon Fantasy Peel-Off Stickers along the top edge of the striped glittered card.

    23. Cut a piece of white card that will fit inside of your tag card 3 1/8 inches x 13 inches. Adhere the leftover piece of striped glittered card to the bottom of the white card and then place a piece of Black Ribbon Fantasy Peel-Off Stickers along the top edge of the striped glittered card.

    24. Use the Tags & More 2 - Deco die to die cut a piece of dark green card, trim card so it is approx 1 3/4 inches in height and attach to the top of the inside of your card. Place another piece of Black Ribbon Fantasy Peel-Off Stickers along the bottom of the green card.

    25. Die cut a star shaped reinforcement piece from red card and adhere over hole of inside of tag card.

    26. Using black ink, stamp sentiment in centre of white card.

    Brushstrokes2stamps

    TSOLBrushstrokeFlipwm

    Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing a few cards I have created using The Stamps of Life's brushstrokes2stamp stamp set which is one of the stamp sets released a few days ago.

For my first card I created a flip-its card using the Sizzix Majestic Flip-its Card Bigz die and the Sizzix Majestic Labels Framelits.

I used one of the brushstrokes stamps from the Brushstrokes2stamp stamp set to decorate the base of the white flip-its card and also onto the label where I stamped the sentiment.

    TSOLBrushstrokeFlip2wm

Here is the ‘flip’ side of my card.

    TSOLBrushbdaywm

For my second card I used the brush stroke stamp and stamped using different colored ink and then stamped a birthday sentiment which is from the Sizzix Happy Birthday Stamp set also designed by Stephanie Barnard and was also released by TSOL last week.

    TSOLBrushbday2wm

Here is the inside of my card. The brushstrokes2stamp stamp set also has coordinating dies which you can purchase and that is what I used for the inside, plus another sentiment from the Sizzix Happy Birthday stamp set.

    TSOLColorWorldwm

And finally for my last card, I used another of two of the brushstrokes stamps on my card. For the red layer I used the coordinating die to die cut the brushstroke and then layer it to the card with foam tape.

Stamps: Brushstrokes2stamp- The Stamps of Life; Happy Birthday Stamp Set -  Sizzix
    Paper: White; Green; Blue; Red
Dies: Brushstroke Die; Sizzix Majestic Flip-Its Card Bigz Die; Sizzix Majestic Label Framelits

    Just For You at Christmas

    CCEE1446Bargello1wm

    Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Our challenge hostess for the month,Maryann Einam continues to bring us fun challenges.

Our challenge this week is to create a card using the Bargello technique, you can find out how to create this technique over in the tutorial section of Splitcoast Stampers.

    CCEE1446Bargello2wm

With Christmas fast approaching, I am wanting to use the new stamps/dies I have been purchasing the last few months. So for my card today I decided to use a couple of the Party Paw stamp sets to create a pop up card. On the front of my card I featured the “Bargello Technique”

    CCEE1446Bargellowm

For the pop up part of my card I used the Lorna Label Pop Up Card die set designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I added the Merry Christmas Stand Up Helper die to the rectangle section of the pop up. I also used the Holly Border to decorate my card.

    CCEE1446Bargello3wm

Here is a side on view of my card.

Karen Burniston November Designer Challenge Card 3

    KBDCBluewm

    Hi everyone,

As promised this morning, I am back with another card for this month's Karen Burniston Designer Challenge. This time round the theme Karen has given us is Red, White or Blue - no, we're not doing patriotic cards, we're doing single color cards. This is the all-white, all-red or all-blue challenge. You may mix in a little bit of a neutral, like silver, gold, kraft or black, but we needed to try to keep it primarily single-color.

In my previous last two blog posts I have shared my “Red” card and “White” card for this challenge which you can see by scrolling down to the previous post. So this time round I am sharing …. you guessed it my “Blue” card.

For my card I have created an Accordion card using the Circle Accordion Card and Fancy Label Accordion Card designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I decorated the edges of each page using the Square with Circle Frame Edges and Fancy Seasons Frame Edges.

    KBDCBlue3wm

I decorated the two end panels using the Crystal Flower Set 1 which I die cut Light Blue Metallic Shimmer Sheetz. I then used the Crystal Flower Overlay Set 2 to die cut Double Sided Adhesive/Card and the covered the flowers with Soft Teal Silk Microfine Glitter. For the centre of the flowers I added Blue/Gold Glitter Dots which I added in a cluster, i saw this idea done by someone else (not sure who) so had to try it.

The Happy Birthday sentiments was also die cut from Double Sided Adhesive/Card  and then covered with Soft Teal Silk Microfine Glitter. I then embellished each flower using the Flourish with Flowers die.

    KBDCBlue2wm

Here is my card when it is folded ready to be placed in an envelope.

If you are looking to purchase Karen’s Pop It Ups dies in Australia you can find them at Photo Continental.

Don’t forget to check out the Elizabeth Crafts Designs blog on Wednesday when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

Paper: Light Blue; Dark Blue; So Noted DP – Bo Bunny
Dies: Circle Accordion Card;  Fancy Label Accordion Card; Square with Circle Frame Edges; Fancy Seasons Frame Edges designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. Crystal Flower Set 1; Crystal Flower Overlay Set 2; Flourish with Flowers; Happy Birthday – Elizabeth Craft Designs
Other Elizabeth Craft Designs Products: Light Blue Metallic Shimmer Sheetz; Blue/Gold Glitter Dots; Double Sided Adhesive; Soft Teal Silk Microfine Glitter.
