Coffee Tastes Better!

Hi everyone .... I am still playing with Christmas presents here, its lots of fun! Today I got to play with the Flourishes "Coffee with Friends" stamp set which I have been wanting for ages ... so I was very happy when I received it for Christmas.

This card is for is this week's sketch challenge over on SCS .

This is the inside of my card .... it is good doing the insides when the card is being made cause then it is all done and saves lots of time later on when you need them. Especially if you end up using them to give as gifts as I did this past Christmas .... I spent ages just stamping inside cards I had made during the year.

Sending You My Love!

Wow I can't believe it is 3 months since I was asked to be a guest designer for Paper Pretties. Where does the time go! I was all set to tell you this would be my last post as a design team member for the Paper Pretties design team when I got an email from Jessie asking me if I would continue on as a Junior Design Team member .... of course I said YES!!!!!!!!!!!! So I am looking forward to continuing to bring you my Paper Pretties card every Tuesday as I have been doing for the past 3 months!

My card today uses the "Sending You My Love" set ... this is such a fun set and I love little Sophie and how she has her tongue sticking out while writing on her card.

The layers are created using the Label 2 nestabilities. I used the hearts cuttlebug embossing folder to create the textured background on the pink base of this card. For the sentiment I used one of Spellbinders label dies and cut the end off the right side of the label.

Another Christmas Card!

Hi everyone and Happy Monday.

My CCEE Stamper friends and I are still taking a short break from the challenges we normally do every Monday. However if you enjoy seeing what we come up with each week or like to play along you may want to check out our CCEE Stampers blog a little later today. We will be posting one of our older challenge we did last year so that you can also play along ... there will also be a link to a tutorial. We will be back to our normal weekly challenge at the beginning of the New Year which is only next week ... time flies when your having fun!

Anyway today I am sharing another of the Christmas cards I created earlier in the year but haven't as yet posted.

This card is a variation of one I created way back in June for Beate's Weekend Sketch challenge ... you can see that one here. I liked the other one a lot but decided that it used too much card and was a little too much work to mass produce for Christmas cards ... so I came up with this version ... which now I have to say I like even better.

Take Two Peanuts!

I am still playing with Christmas presents today .... what fun! My card today is for Taylor's of Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge. My eldest daughter gave me this cute Dr Pea-nut set from Our Crafty Lounge so I decided to use that for my card today. I think that poor elephant is feeling a little like some of us who have had a little too much holiday cheer hehe!

I also used my copic air brush again this time for the grass and the sky ... I still need lots of practise! The flowers and brads were also Christmas presents as was the embossing folder I used for the rose red panel on the left hand side of my card.

Here is the inside of the card ... I used the peanut border on the top and bottom of the white panel.

Happy Birthday Jodi!

It is Jodi Collins birthday and the Prettie Girls are having a party pretties style to help celebrate by having a virtual birthday party blog hop.

We would love for you to join us in our virtual birthday blog hop by starting on Christie Ortman's blog. All the Prettie Girls were asked to bring something along for the party ... my contribution was the presents ... a girl can never have too many presents right!

This last few days since Christmas I have been playing with some of my new toys that I received. One of the things I got was a Copic airbrushing kit and compresser ... so of course I had to play with that to make my card and I also had to play with some new stamps I received too! I probably need lots more practise on the airbrushing .... I airbrushed the grey road and the blue sky .... but it was fun playing.

For this card I used Sophie from the "Trim the Tree" set ... I just love this image ... but I removed the bauble from her hand ... it looks like she is reaching out at one of the presents or the balloons.

The other stamps used here are from Clear Dollar Stamps ... and consists of 3 different sets all made to co-ordinate with the bug set.

Here is the inside of my card .... I used the part of the sentiment from the set "Bugs & Fishes". Seeing the car on the front is a "bug" I figured this sentiment worked for this card. The stripe on the left side of the card hides the backs of the brads I attached to the front of my card.

Snowmen Cards!

Today I am sharing a card I made a few months back to use this Christmas .... I found this in Karen B Baker's gallery over on SCS and just had to CASE it. You can find Karen's version here and here.

The face part of the snowman is created by first cutting out a circle and then by folding this using an explosion or teabag fold. You can see a photo of what I mean for this part if you click on the second link I included above.

It's A Dog's Life!

Hi everyone ... I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that Santa was kind to you all. I had a wonderful day with family and have some great new stamping toys that I am looking forward to playing with in the near future.

Ok onto my card for today. It's is time for another Elzybells challenge over on the Elzybells Art Stamps blog. The challenge this week is a sketch challenge which as you know is my favorite type of challenges. This time round I got to provide the sketch to the rest of the Elzybell's DT.

I used my label nestabilities to create the layers for the main image. Normally the brown layer would be a lot wider but for this card I decided to trim it down at bit.

Simply Sweet & Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!

I am posting my card for this week's MFT Stamps sketch challenge super early this week as it is already Christmas Day down here in Australia and when I would normally post this I will have a house full of guests! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Being that this is Christmas, Cindy Haffner and I thought be would do something a little different this week. Did you know that Renee aka prchvs on SCS, keeps a master list of all the MFT sketches that we do over on the MFT Stamps Member Forum of SCS. This is a wonderful resource and we thought it would be a good idea to make sure you were all aware of it and to also make some use of it.

So this week rather then me post a specific sketch for you all to play with ... I ask that you check out the master list which you will find here. Select your favorite MFT sketch and use that for your card this week.

I selected MFTSC37 for my card this week. I flipped the sketch so that it was mirrored to allow for the direction my image was facing.

I also combined my card with this week's MFT "Who's that girl" challenge. The challenge was to use the "Here's the Scoop" stamp set and to also use your corner punches. I almost forgot about the second part of this challenge but quickly save that by adding the corner punch to the top left of my card... hehe!

Happy New Year!

Yeah I know ... we haven't even had Christmas yet and here I am posting a New Years cards LOL! The year isn't going that fast ... fast enough but fortunately you didn't miss Christmas hehe!

Today's sketch challenge over on SCS was a nice simple one. Just what I needed today seeing it is already Christmas Eve and I should be doing other things like cleaning the house so everyone can come over tomorrow and make a mess of it ... seems a little silly right ;) . Anyway I already had this image stamped up waiting to be colored and it so suited today's sketch so I decided to use it. Everything except for the bee on the cork is one stamp, so it makes for an easy New Years card if you need one. And sometimes if you didn't send someone a Christmas card in time then a New Years card might be the way to go.

Be My Lovebug!

Hi everyone .... it is time for another Paper Pretties card from me today.

This week I decided to do the Paper Pretties challenge from a week ago PWC31 which was to use the "Love Bug" stamp set and to also use the color combo of red, chocolate & mellow moss. I also used this week's sketch challenge from the December Dirty Dozen gallery.

The red portion of this challenge was easy with this stamp set ... for the chocolate I colored the areas that I would normally color with black ... the ladybugs spots, antenna etc. The mellow moss I used for the leaf and shading that grounds the bugs.

Blue Blue Christmas

Happy Monday everyone. Normally on a Monday I would be posting my card for a challenge I do with my CCEE Stamper friends. However with Christmas just around the corner we are taking a short break. Today I thought I would share some Christmas cards I created earlier in the year to send out to a few friends.

I just love the Elvis stamps that are available from Cornish Heritage Farms ... so of course when this one called Blue Christmas became available I just had to have it ... I created 3 variations for this card ... using the same supplies.

I used the snowdots cuttlebug embossing folder to create the texture on all my cards. Once I had embossed them I sponged over the raised areas with blue bayou SU Ink.

Congratulation Bugs!

My card today uses stamps from Alota Rubber Stamps. The glass is one of the new images that was released this month. The cute little bugs that is sitting on top of the glass is normally sitting on top of an anthill, but as I wanted them to be on the glass for this card, I stamped the image onto white card and cut out just the bugs and then attached them to the card using foam tape.

I layered the main image using my large rectangle nestabilities, I cut out two rectangles from the red card and then joined them to get the size I needed. The designer paper and black card along the bottom edge of the card were punched using the lace doily border punch.

The sentiment used here is from the Harmony Classic Oval Stamper 1 Stamp Assemble from Just Rite Stamps. This is a set of stamps which contains 6 centre (sentiments) and 6 borders that you can intermix. I selected to just use one of the centres for my card today.

More Wedding Stuff!

Hi I am back with a few more wedding favors to share with you. First up the place cards, as the wedding was at a beach resort my daughter went with starfish for her place cards.



Here are the wedding favor boxes we created for each guest. These were created using the Wedding circut cartridge ... very fiddly to make as after cutting all those tiny pieces had to be removed and then scored etc. Each box had special aqua M & M's that my daughter ordered from the USA with the bride & grooms names on them.




And finally the guest book ... very simple again with the starfish theme.

Wedding Invites

About a month ago I told you about my daughter's wedding ... here are the invites that we made for the wedding. My daughter designed everything ... the layout, the colors etc ... I just put them all together. No stamping here!

I flipped the sketch so that it would accommodate my image I wanted to use for my card. The girls dress and couch have been paper pieced. The bottom portion of the designer paper and card that is underneath were punched using the Martha Stewart lace doily punch

Princess Birthday!

Here is my card for this week's sketch challenge over on SCS. I used the "Princess" stamp from Pink Poison ... isn't she a cutie!!!!!

I stamped the princess onto white card and cut her out. I used my label 2 nestabilities to create my layers for the princess to be mounted onto. It is hard to tell by these photos but the inner portion of the white nestie layer has been colored a pale pink so just the edge is white.

Here is the detail of the princess. As you can see I had some bling to her crown and also the star of her want. I also used the clear spica pen to add a little shimmer to her crown, wand & inner skirt.
