A Tribute To Charlene Merrick

CharleneForYou-wm

Hi everyone,

As many of you may have already heard by now, our friend and fellow CCEE Stampers Design Team member lost her fight with cancer earlier this month passing away on the 2nd January 2014. Charlene has been battling liver and brain cancer for approx the last 12 months,

Charlene was one of the founding members of the CCEE Stampers which was formed in 2007 with our first challenge posted to SCS on the 2nd July 2007. In those days the challenges we did were just between eight stamping friends who had meet on SCS. It wasn’t until a year or two later that we started our blog and opened up the challenges to everyone else.

Charlene was loved in the stamping community and was very active on SCS and also had her own blog WhereMMsGather and My Creations. Charlene will be greatly missed by all of us here at CCEE Stampers as well as in the stamping community.

Today would have been Charlene's birthday so we have invited the past CCEE stampers to join us in this special tribute to our stamping friend by either.

1. Creating a card depicting one of the things she loved which included:
  • M & M's
  • Penguins
  • Purple
2. CASEing a card Charlene created from either her blog or her SCS Gallery

CharleneForYou2-wm

For my card today I decided to CASE a card I found on Charlene’s SCS Gallery which you can find here. I also included a Penguin and the color purple which were both things that Charlene loved.

Here is my card again this time folded flat so it can be mailed.

If you would like to join the CCEE Stampers in our  tribute to Charlene, visit our blog (it goes live at 12AM) and include your card on the inlinkz link.

Stamps: Penguins4Christmas; Sign4Words – The Stamps of Life
Paper: White; Purple; Forever Friends For You DP – DoCrafts

I did not know Charlene but she clearly was a special person and you have honored her memory beautifully with this heartfelt card.

I am sorry for the loss of your friend, she would have loved your card, it is so cute!!!

I have been looking everywhere for this type of fold but didn't know what it is called and also I couldn't go to your link where you cased it since I am not on the "FAN" page of SCS! If you could help me out with where to find an actual tutorial on the fold, I would appreciate it so much!!! Thank you again for sharing!

Hoots.....the old CCEE thread was surely fun and wacky......love the humor that we all shared...and Charlene was a large part of the wachiness.....she will be missed.

This penguin delight would surely have generated a fun comment from her.

Thank you, Frances, for this wonderful tribute to my wife, Charlene. I have just now found it. I have heard her speak of "Stampowl" many times over the years. I appreciate your being her friend. She had planned on us making the trip to "Down Under" primarily to see you. Warmest regards!
