Hoppy Hoppy Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Slimline card I created recently.

I used LDRS Designs Slim Line Scallop Die set to die cut the background panel of my card. After die cutting from blue cardstock, I added clouds to the rectangle panel using Pinkfresh Studio's Cloud Border stencil and white pigment ink.

To create the pond I used one of the border dies from Lawn Fawn's Slimline Simple Hillside Borders die set. I used Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass, Broken China,  Salty Ocean & Mermaid Lagoon to add color to the pond. Along the top  edge of the pond, I added cattails using Lawn Fawn's Cattails Border die set. Along the bottom edge of the pond I used the grass border from Trinity Stamps The Great Outdoors Borders & Builder die set.

I added the frogs, lilies etc to the pond which are from Waffle Fower's Toadally stamp set.

For the inside of the card I used many of the same elements I used on the front of the card.

I added the sentiments which are from DRS Designs and MFT Stamps stamp sets.

Enjoy Life It's Delicious

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Being a brand new month it's time to introduce a new challenge hostess which is Kelly Santi.

Apparently today is Men Make Dinner Day. Sit back, relax and prepare for dinner to be served! Create a card with the men (or critter) showing off their cooking skills. And yes – BBQ is acceptable!

I am pretty lucky, my husband cooks most nights. I just need to prep. For my card today I decided to create a Slimline Bridge Card.

To create the Slimline Bridge card, I cut a piece of blue cardstock to 4 inches x 11 inches and then scored on each side at 1 1/4 inches and 2 1/4 inches. I used a cloud stencil and white pigment ink to add clouds to the background. I used MFT Stamps Slimline Grassy Hills to add the grass to the front and inset of the card. The grass panels for the front piece is 9 inches long.

To decorate my card I used Stamping Bella's Uptown Couple Bella and Barney have a Barbecue stamp set. The BBQ tables are older wood mounted stamps I have had for years from a company called Eccentricks. I figured this scene was taking place at a park where there were BBQ's and tables.

I added trees to the background of my card using Lawn Fawn's Birch Trees die set.

The birds in the background are from a Hero Arts stamp set.

The rest of the images are from various Lawn Fawn stamp sets which are all listed in the supply list below.

My Slimline Bridge card folds flat to measure 4 inches x 9 inches and will fit inside a #10 envelope

I always like to decorate the back of my Bridge cards, it's a great place to add extra sentiments and write a hand written greeting.

To decorate the back panel, I used the MFT Stamps Slimline Grassy Hills Die-namics, stamps from Lawn Fawn's Let's BBQ stamp set and a sentiment from DRS Designs.

You're Smokin'

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. As challenge hostess for the month, I finish off the month with one last challenge.

May is apparently Barbecue Month and the 28th May is Hamburger Day…. so for our challenge this week let's think BBQ's and/or Hamburger

For my card this week I decided to combine both the BBQ and Hamburger theme on my card.
I created a Wiper Card. For the front side of the wiper card, I die cut a stripe of green cardstock using the grass border from Karen Burniston's Nature Edges die set. For the back portion of the card I used blue cardstock and sponged Unicorn White ink over the card using MFT Stamps Mini Cloud Stencil.

The BBQ is an older stamp from Art Impressions which I have had for some time. I paper pieced the apron and glove using designer paper.
The BBQ, food and sentiments are from Lawn Fawn's Let's BBQ stamp set. I also added some ants which is from Lawn Fawn's Happy Summer stamp set.
When you pull the card on the sides, it reveals a stack of hotdogs and hamburgers which pop up.
For the back of the card, I added a sentiment from DRS Designs. I added a grass border along the bottom portion of the card. I added a few ants and some more of the BBQ food for the ants to carry.

"Paws"itively Fantastic Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Kathleen Adams our challenge hostess for the month finishes off her month with one last challenge.

Apparently today is Black Cat Day! So for our challenge this week we are to either make a card with a cat on it or a Halloween card.

For my card today I decided to pull out my Mama Elephant Inside Pop Bunny and Cat die set which I have had sitting in my to use pile for a couple of months now.

Seeing it was Black Cat Day, I decided to make my cat black but did add a few white highlights for some interest.

Sentiments used on this card are from DRS Designs.

As you can see the scene on the front and inside of the card are similar. I actually made the inside first and then decided to replicate the scene on the front.

I used Distress Oxide inks to create the grassy area, the sky and also the brick fence behind the cat. The brick fence was created using a stencil.

I added action wobbles to both of the cat's heads so they have movement too.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

Here is a side on view of the inside of my card so you can see the pop-up a little better.

And another side on view this time from the right hand side.

And one last view of the inside of the card this time from overhead.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Grill Master

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month, it's time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is Raquel Mason.

Labor Day is here!  Time to say goodbye to Summer, be it one last BBQ, dive in the pool, a parade or picnic.  How will you celebrate?  Show me on a card.

Of course living where I do down here in Australia, I am not saying goodbye to Summer, I am actually looking forward to saying hello to it in a few more months as Spring has just arrived down here.

For my card today I have created a Tri Shutter card. As my DH's birthday is coming up shortly I figured I would use this to give to him, he loves Barbequing.

Here is an overhead view of my card so you can see the different panels in action.

Here is the front of my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Fore! Three Two One

Hi everyone,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  Being a brand new month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess which this time round is ME!

Apparently this month is National Golf Month … so for our challenge this week let’s create a card which features some sort of sport. Bonus points if you create a Golf themed card. Oh and we might need to see the color green on your card too.

For my card this week I created a Lever Card using the Half Rectangle die set from Tattered Lace. I also used a new golf theme stamp I purchased from DRS Designs.

I embellished the front of the card with a couple of golf ball images and a sentiment.

For the inside of my card I added a sentiment and also a golf flag.

It’s A Guy Thing!

c4c-golf-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s Saturday which means it is challenge time over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. This week our challenge hostess for March, Barb Anders has another fun challenge for us. Barb’s challenge ….. “It’s A Guy Thing”. I think we all have trouble coming up with masculine cards so this is a great challenge!

Our sponsor this week is DRS Designs. For my card I used DRS Designs “Golf Is” and “Above Par Birthday” stamps. I actually stamps the main image three times … and cut out parts of the stamp and layered it. The circle on the left side of the card was embossed using Tiny Bubbles Cuttlebug Embossing Folder to resemble a golf ball.

Here is the inside of my card, I stamps the sentiment onto white card and used my circle nestabilities to create the circle shape and then I used the Tiny Bubbles Cuttlebug Embossing Folder so that it resembled a golf ball again.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Stamps: Golf Is….; Above Par Birthday Sentiment – DRS Designs

Walk on the Wild Side!

PE-Fav-colors-wm

Hi again!

I am back again today, this time with my card for this week’s Pink Elephant challenge. This week the challenge was to use our favorite colors and the design team were also using stamps from DRS Designs.

The stamps I used are “Jimbo and the Gang” and “Walk on the Wild side” you can find both of these stamps here. I just fell in love with this cute image.

Ok so about my favorite colors which I had to use for my card. Well when it comes to card making I have a ton of favorite colors I like to use. And this can vary depending on my mood and what stamps I want to use etc. One of my favorite combos is brown with another color … I especially love pink and/or blue with brown although just about any color works great with it. Another I love is mustard and brown which is what I ended up going with for my card. What will your favorite colors be??

Recipe:

Stamps: Jimbo & the Gang; Walk on the Wild side – DRS Designs

Paper: White; Chocolate Chip & More Mustard – SU; DP – Basic Grey

Other: Black Ink; Paper Piercing Mat & Tool; Brown Brads; Foam Tape; Copics
