Springtime in Kyoto

Hi Crafty Friends

I have a fun fold card to share today that I created recently. I used the Honeycomb Card die set from Creative Craft Products to make this fun fold card.

To decorate my card I used products from the Spellbinders Spring in Kyoto Collection designed by Alex Siberia. For this card I used the Kokeshi Doll die set and Parasols Betterpress Plate & stencils.

I betterpressed the Parasol plate four times so I could decorate all the panels on my card.

Here is a look at the back of my card, I added a vertical happy birthday Sentiment which is an older stamp from my stash.

Here is a view of the back of my card when it is closed.

National Frances Day

Hi Crafty Friends,

According to the Holiday Calendar website, today (13th June) is National Frances Day! The name Frances has Latin roots and means "free one". There are several notable historical figures that bear this name including Saint Frances of Rome and author Frances Hodgson Burnett.

Seeing my name is Frances, I wanted to do something to celebrate this day this year, but of course I didn't want to send myself a card. About 18 months ago, I met another person whose name is Frances who is now a friend, so I decided to make a card to send to her to celebrate the day.

So next question was what do you put on a "Frances" card, so you know it is a Frances card ... the name of course. So I decided to do the eclipse technique using letters which are a little camouflaged into the background of the card.

For the background I used a Magnolia Washi sheet from Textures and cut. it down to a slimline size. I then used an old alphabet die set to die cut the name into the background. I have had the die set for many years, but as Frances is a long name it needed to be one which wasn't too wide. I did cut each of the letters about 3 more times from white cardstock and layered them together and then from the dark pink cardstock. I layered the dark pink letters into the opening and then adhered the other stack of letters so they were offset slightly.

Next I layered the panel onto a filagree die cut panel and finally onto a top folding slimline card base.

For the inside of the card, I computer generated the sentiment, so the recipient knew why she was receiving a card with our name on it. I also added a couple more of the magnolia washi tape flowers to the edge of the card.

Hello Baby

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a baby card with you. A few weeks ago I shared a baby boy card, so this time around I made a baby girl card.

The base of my card uses Creative Craft Products Accordion Stepper Card die set. The die makes it so easy to create.

To decorate my card, I used products from Spellbinders Little Smiles Collection.

To create the background that is on each of the panels, I used the Falling Stars Betterpress Plate. I foiled this using white glimmer foil doing each of the panels separately. Once the foiling was completed, I used the coordinating 3D embossing folder Wishing Stars which embosses in the empty spaces.

The panel on the top left was decorated using the Bundle of Joy die set. The large star on the bottom panel is from the Swinging Among the Stars die set.

To finish the front of the card, I added some Betterpress sentiments which is also included in the collection.

For the back of the card, I added the two larger panels. The blank one is to write a personal message. The other I decorated the same as those on the front, I then added the baby girl sentiment using stamps & dies from Trinity Stamps.

Open Me For A Smile

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another card using a few of the club kits from Spellbinders April 2025 Club Kits.

For the front of the card I used the Glimmer of the Month - Scattered Letters. I glimmered this piece twice on a 5 x 7 piece of white cardstock using black glimmer foil, I decorated the panel using the tulips & envelopes from the Large Die of the Month - Lock & Key Mailbox.

The sentiment is from the Betterpress of the Month - Post Edges Expressions.

For the card base I used a die from the 5 x 7 inch Diamond Fold Die set by Creative Craft Products/Craft Stash. I die add a layer between the patterned paper and base of the card which was fairly simple to do, even with the odd shape.

For the inside of the card I added a rectangle panel that I decorated using the script Betterpress plate included in the  Post Edges Expressions Betterpress set, which I repeated 4 times to cover the whole panel.
I added the odd shape panel over the top of this using the die used on the front, along the bottom I used the negative foiled piece using the left over foil from foiling the front panel. I also added another sentiment also from the Betterpress set.

Hello Baby

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to my blog, today I am sharing a fun baby themed Slimline card I created recently.

For my card base I have used the DL Diamond card using the Creative Craft Products die set,

To decorate my card I used Spellbinders Swinging Among the Stars die set. The elephant in the basket moves from side to side.

For the background panel I used blue cardstock, I then used the Falling Stars Betterpress Plate & the Wishing Stars 3D Embossing Folder to create the sky. I also added clouds that are included in the die set.

The sentiments on the inner panel are from the Little Smiles Sentiments Betterpress Plate set.

The “baby” sentiment on the front diamond is from a Trinity Stamps stamp set called Simply Sentiments Baby.

I added a panel on the back to add another sentiment and a place to write a personal greeting to the recipient. I decorated this panel using various items from the products used on the front of the card.

Your Birthday Is On Point

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Winged Panel Card, this time using the Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott’s 6 x 6 Circular Never Ending Card die set.

I used the Papercraft Society’s Box 58 designed by Time for Tea. The theme for this box was cacti.

When I was putting this together I was trying to figure out how to do the centre oval panels as of course the die set didn’t come with anything for that seeing this style of cards wasn’t how the die set was designed for. I remembered that I had recently purchased an oval die set from Spellbinders which was perfect for this called Essential Stylish Ovals.

Here is a look at the back of the card, I added an oval panel to the centre to add a sentiment. I also added a cacti image at the bottom which hides a glue smudge that was annoying me.

Happy 'Bear’thday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Winged Panel Card using the Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott’s 5 x 7 Never Ending Card die set. One of the things I love about Sam’s dies is how she always comes up with different styles of cards using her die sets, giving them extra life.

For this card I decorated it using one of the Care Bear stamp/die sets from Craft Stash. I had stamped & coloured these images late last year and them forgot to use them.

I added layers to the centre panel so I could add another bear & a sentiment.

Cheers To You

Hi Crafty Friends,

Welcome to my blog! Today I am sharing a male themed Slimline Pop up card I created recently.

I am always looking for stamps or dies that are suitable for male themed cards, so when I had the opportunity to purchase this Cheers die set which included the beer glass and the sentiments used on the front of course I got it.

My slimline card is 3 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches. I had some beer themed patterned paper that looked like beer, so I die cut the glass using this paper. I froth at the top of the glass is die cut from white glitter cardstock.

I die cut the banner from dark blue cardstock & the “cheers” from gold cardstock. I was surprised to find a  hot foil stamp included in the set (happily surprised), so I gold foiled it onto blue cardstock.

For the inside of my card I created a double pop up using Karen Burniston’s Katherine Label Pop-up die set. The stamped sentiments are from Crafter’s Companion’s Happy Beer Day stamp/die set.

Happy Birthday Earthling

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing a Space themed Inside Out Stepper Card I created using Spellbinders Space Collection designed by Stephen Hurley.

THe Inside Out Stepper Card  was created using  Creative Craft Products High Centre Stepper Card from the Step on Up 2 Collection. Sam Calcott, shared a tutorial on this style of card a few years ago, you can see her tutorial here.

I used black cardstock for the base of my card, and then decorated all the panels using a patterned paper from Whimsy Stamps Lost In Space Slimline Paper Pack. This was layered using Silver Holographic cardstock.

I used Spellbinders To The Moon & UFO Friends die seetd for all the various images that decorate my card.

I added three sentiments from an older Made To Surprise Out In Space stamo/die set.

I don't normally decorate the sides on the front of the csrd, but I was having so much fun that I kept going!

Here is a look at my card when it is folded ready to be placed in an envelope. When closed the card measures approximately 5 3/4 inches x 7 1/4 inches.

For the inside I added a stamped sentiment to the middle panel using stamps from Honey Bee Stamps. I also decorated the side panels with a few aliens etc.

To create the ground of the planet the aliens are standing on, I die cut a side panel from grey cardstock and then used the die included in the Starry Night Embossing Folder to die cut the top of the panel.

80th Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

A friend recently had her 80th birthday, so of course I wanted to make a special birthday card for her.

To create her card I pulled out one of the Double Concertina Gatefold die set from the Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott's Showstoppers 3 Collection.

For the "H B 2 U" in the concertina portion of the card, I used the letters from the Chunky Alphabet die set. I added hearts on either side of the letters, using a heart die from Creative Craft Products, before attaching to the card I dry embossed the smaller heart using Spellbinders Rosette Burst 3D Embossing Folder.

For the sentiment on the left side of the card, I added one of the birthday sentiments included in the Moving Along stamp set. This was stamped using Catherine Pooler's Gold ink pad.

On the right hand panel, I added the "80th" using dies from Creative Craft Products Small Numbers Galore - 80th stamp & die set.

I kept the front of the card fairly simple as the focus is on the inside. I added the circle and filigree circle for my layers. I stamped the "birthday wishes" using gold ink to the lower section of the circle. I then added the "happy" which is from the All The Sentiments die & stamp set.

To finish off the front of the card, I added the presents using one of the stamps included in the Surprise Party stamp & die set.

On the back of the card, I added a white panel and added another birthday sentiment.  I also added another present, this time from the Bringing Gifts stamp & die set from Made To Surprise. This also gives us a place to add a handwritten sentiment.
