Howdy Girlfriend ATC

Hi everyone,

It has been a while since I created an ATC so I thought that is what I would do for this week's Pretties Tuesday Post.

The stamps I used for this are from Paper Pretties Howdy Girlfriend set. After stamping out Sophia I then used my oval nestabilities to die cut the oval shape. I also used one of my fav color combinations pink & brown!

A Boy, A Frog & A Scooter!

Hi everyone.

My card today uses 2 of the new Alota Rubber Stamps that were recently released, these are boy with book & frog and the scooter from the Transportation unmounted plate.

To create my card I stamped the boy first and then masked him before stamping the scooter. This was then all cut out and layered over the label nestabilites using foam tape.

PE – Happy Birthday Dorothy!

Hello again!

It is time for another challenge over on the Pink Elephant! This week it is a color challenge with the colors being: Bright Pink, Chocolate & White. The design team also got to use a digital stamp from The Greeting Farm … I love their stamps!!!

If you haven’t tried digital stamps they are fun and easy … you don’t have to pay for postage. Most of them you get them immediately after you check out and you can print them in any size you want.

I selected Dorothy Anya to create my card today. I also used Taylor’s Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge (TECC70) sketch for the layout of my card.

Recently I created a card that had a large button threaded through my ribbon, this reminded me that a year or two ago I purchased a heap of Making Memories grommets which I haven’t done much with … if you bend the prongs down these are perfect to thread through your ribbon so I will be using these a lot more in the future.

CNFS - Flowergal36

Hi everyone and Happy Monday!

It’s time for another challenge with my CCEE Stamper friends. This week is our fav CNFS challenge (Catchy Name Featured Stamper) … this is when someone selects a person who has a Catchy user name over on SCS, we then create a card around that name and some of us send the cards on to that person.

This week Charlene selected Flowergal36 for us to use for our CNFS challenge. Charlene’s instructions were that we were to create a card that had flowers on it … big surprise ha! *giggle*

I selected one of my Miss Anya stamps, the one holding a basket of flowers to create my card today … she looks like she could be a flowergal hehe! I also selected a designer paper that contained flowers too … so I think I am well and truly covered!

I used the Weekend Sketch challenge (WSC83) for the layout of my card.

Getting Punchy!

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend! I am as I got to attend a papercrafts show yesterday and came home with a few must have goodies hehe … I am sure you will get to see the finished results of these goodies in the coming weeks.

About a month or so ago, my friend attended a convention and come home with some fantastic swaps a couple of which used Stampin’ Ups punches.

One of the cards was a cute 4 inch x 4 inch note card with this adorable owl created using mainly the scallop punch. The original card was designed by Tanya Blewitt and I do not normally CASE many cards but I did CASE this one thanks to my friend who worked out how to recreate it.

It’s OCC challenge time over on the Our Creative Corner Blog. This week have another sketch to play with …. who doesn’t love sketches right!!!

For my card I used one of the new bugs called “Staying Cool Bugs” available from Alota Rubber Stamps. I just love all the bugs that Alota sell and these ones are no exception … expect to see a few more bug cards over the next few weeks.

I paper Pieced the umbrella and stamped the bugs a second time so I could 3D them over the original image.

A Little Dress Can Change Your Mood!

Hi all!

It is Friday which means it is challenge time for Hanna Stamps over on the Hanna Stamps Member Forums of SCS.

This week it is my friend Cindy Haffner’s turn to host the challenge. Cindy’s challenge is a color challenge with a twist. The colors we had to use were burgundy, pink & black. The twist was to add polka dots or some kind of circle on your card.

I used Hanna Stamps new “5 Little Dresses” set to create my card. The polka dots are from one of DCWV stack packs. The layout for my card is the weekend sketch challenge from 23rd May.

Not Too Cute To Rock!

Hi everyone,

It time for another MFT Sketch challenge over on the MFT Stamps member forum of SCS. This week it is my turn to supply the sketch.

This week I decided to use MFT’s new “The Poppies” set …. aren’t they just the cutest!!!!!! This set has just been released and is available for purchase at MFT Stamps. Each of these little girls come as individual stamps, I decided to create a scene so masked both the girls playing their guitars so that I could stamp in the drummer girl. Both guitar playing girls also have amps to go with their instruments but I cut most of that off or my card would have been bigger then I wanted it to be.

The floor and the wall were colored using my copic airbrush system.

Butterfly Wishes!

It’s time for another Pretties Wednesday challenge with all the Prettie Girls.

Two weeks ago it was Jessica Diedrich’s turn to issue the challenge to us all. Her instructions were the following:

“In the spirit of Spring and the coming Summer...and well, since it's my FAVORITE thing (In fact, I can't believe I haven't done this already, LOL)....I challenge the Prettie Girls to create a card using a BUTTERFLY somewhere on the card.”

It seems like forever since I have done anything butterfly related on my cards so I had to think about it for awhile. I figured the best set to use was the Paper Pretties Simply Special set as it had the watering can and plant and we all know butterflies love plants.

To cover my bases I grad all sorts of butterfly related stamps, papers and tools (some I didn’t end up using). My designer paper is a basic grey one that is covered with butterflies. I also found my CC Rubberstamps butterfly punch stamp that matches perfectly with a butterfly punch I had making it super easy to stamp and punch out multiple butterflies. I also found a few butterfly sentiments & verses that I figured I would use too.

Here is a close up of one of my butterflies on my card. As you can see I stamped and punched out two butterflies, I then folded up the wings of one of the butterflies and just added adhesive to the body part only and attached it over my second butterfly thus making it 3 D. I probably went a little over board with my butterflies but I was having fun stamping and punching so why not *giggle*

 

Here is the inside of my card, again I used my butterfly designer paper and also one of my butterfly verses.

We’re Grilling and Hopping Around The Block!

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to my blog. It time to join the MFT Stamps “Sweet Sixteen” for another "Hop Around the Block"

Now if you didn't hop onto my blog from Jessie Rone’s blog then you might want to hop back to Kim's (MFT Lady) blog so that you can start at the beginning of the hop. You don't want to miss anything and there is lots to see!

I have a number of items to share with you today so this will be a fairly long post. All my projects today use the new “Who’s that Grillin’ Guy?” set … I just love this stamp set … it is perfect for those men in our lives. This set along with 2 other stamp sets will be available at MFT Stamps store after the release party which starts tonight at 8pm EST over on the MFT Member Forum of SCS.

Two new design team members will also be announced during the party that have been chosen from the MFT Stamping Idol final four contestants.!!!!!!! Also to be announced during the release party will be the winner of this month’s One Click Challenge, one lucky person will win the full release for free ... wow!

Ok now onto my projects for today, first up seeing that this is BBQ (Remember I am an Aussie and we call it all BBQ’s or barbequing here) related I thought I would put together a BBQ gift pack, men can be sooo hard to buy for but most of them love BBQing or Grilling right! I decorated the pail with some designer paper and attached the card to the front of the pail, attached some ribbon and voila you are ready to put in some BBQ supplies.

I also made a card which could be an invitation with the sentiment that I selected for this one … this set has lots of fantastic sentiments so it has many uses.

My final project today is a BBQ Apron card … I layered the image onto black card and then scored a border around 3 sides of the black card and folded these to the back to create a pocket that will actually hold whatever you like … could be an invite, recipes, or even a serviette to be used as a place setting … there are sooo many possibilities!

Aloha Hinge Card!

Girls Rock!

Hi again,

I have another MFTeaser to share with you today. This time I am using the new “The Poppies” stamp set that will be released by MFT Stamps this coming Wednesday 3rd June. I just adore this set … these girls are sooo cute and we all know girls rock right! *giggle*

For my card today I decided to create a shadow box which I think is perfect for this set. I used the labels 3 nestabilities to cut out the hole in the centre of the shadow box and also to create the frame around the whole. I also used this die for the drummer girl inside the shadow box … she is actually stamped twice once on the label die and then cut out and attached over the first using foam tape for some dimension. The front of the drum comes plain so you can stamp whatever you wish to onto it … I went with the sentiment “Girls Rock!”

The two girls playing guitars actually come with amps with there guitars but I just cut out the girls themselves and attached them to the front of the card.

Anyone for Soccer!

Hi everyone,

I am back again with a couple more sneak peeks of the new stamps to be released by Hanna Stamps later today (1st June). Join us over on the Hanna Stamps Member Forum of SCS for the release party starting at 9pm EST.

This time we are looking at Riley! My first card uses the new Soccer Riley. I found these cute soccer brads while out shopping with a friend the other day so I just had to get them to use with this stamp.

Hi everyone.

Firstly I have a little news to share. About a month ago Robin from The Pink Elephant challenge blog emailed me to ask if I would like to join the Pink Elephant design team. In case you don’t know they organise some fun challenges every Monday which everyone is encouraged to join in. Well after a little thought I said I would join in the fun and join the team so you will be seeing me post here everyone Monday with my card for that week’s challenge.

So onto my first challenge …. and boy was it a tough one for me! Yikes! The challenge was a recipe type of challenge and we had to use 3 buttons, 2 layers and 1 sentiment …. tough ha! Most of my cards have layers, layers layers!

Anyway after a little thought I thought I could use my Sizzix “movers & shakers” note card die to create my card for this challenge. I am never sure with recipe challenges whether I am allowed to add other stuff … well I did I added some ribbon, punched the edge of my card and added Riley too! Hopefully I did the challenge right and I won’t be thrown off on my very first card *wink*

Here is another view of my card, I stamped my sentiment onto the window part that I punched from my card when I used my die and then sponged the edges and placed it onto the inside of my card through the window …. that still makes it 2 layers!

Let’s Picnic!

Today is the start of the MFTeasers …. MFT Stamps will have 3 new stamps to release after the release party this Wednesday 3rd June.

For my first project today I have a card using the new "who’s that girl” set for this month which is called “Let’s Picnic”.

I paper pieced the dress and the picnic blanket. Each of the food items are individual stamps which I stamped and cut out and then attached to the picnic blanket … I love how they are all individual as this gives you more options. Of course you can’t have a picnic without ants ….. right! so I stamped the ants at the bottom of the picnic blanket.

For my second project I decided to decorate a tin using this set … the colors and paper piecing are similar to the card I created using this set which I featured on Sunday.

Here is another view of the outside of my tin. I used designer paper to wrap around the bottom of my tin and grosgrain ribbon to go around the edge of the lid … I also added a bow.

And now for what’s inside my tin …. you can’t have a picnic without ants right!!!!!!!! Just wouldn’t be the same *giggle*. Anyway I remembered buying these plastic ants many years ago so I figured it would be fun to use them in my tin. Now this tin would be a great addition to the picnic hamper cause if you discover there are no ants where you go picnicking you at least have your own you can use hehehehehe!

King of the Grill!

Today is a pretty busy day blogging wise …. as it is right smack in the middle of the new releases for various design teams I am on. I have already posted once today and there will be a couple more posts come up before the day is through, so make sure if you come here that you scroll down to ensure you get to see everything I have posted today.

Of course it is Monday which means challenge time for my CCEE Stamper friends & I …. just love Mondays!!!! This week also starts a brand new month which also means that we have a brand new challenge hostess bringing us wonderful challenges throughout the month. This month our challenge hostess is Charlene Merrick.

For our first challenge this month Charlene gave us this wonderful sketch to use when creating our card. She also told us that the diamond shapes in the sketch could be any shape we liked …. I decided to go with buttons.

It’s a Retro Summer!

Hi all

Today I am featuring cards using the retro Hanna set and the retro Riley, these will be re-released by Hanna Stamps after the release party on Monday 1st June.

So what do we mean by retro Hanna & Riley??? During the summer months Hanna Stamps are having a retro summer. Retro summer will consist of Hanna Stamps regular released sets, and bringing back one of the old released sets into the mix. This will give the newer customer's a chance to see the old sets in a new light, and then give the customer's that already bought the sets a new way of using them. There will be a retro Riley and a retro Hanna set each month to go along with the new released ones. Hanna Stamps are going to include the retro sets/stamps in with the BUY IT NOW price bundle....another great way to save on those older stamps/sets. What if you already have those retro stamps and do not want to buy the BUY IT NOW bundle, but still want the special price for the new ones, we are going to have 2 BUY IT NOW bundles. 1. My second card uses “Swimmer Riley” ….. this is the retro summer Riley stamp which we are featuring during this months release.

I used the Modern Grid technique to create this card. First up I stamped Riley randomly over my white card. I then used a fine black marker and good ruler to create the grid lines and the dots in the grid lines. Once I got this far i decided that riley would look better surrounded by blue then he would look like he was swimming so I masked each of the Riley's and then used my copic airbrush system to apply the blue background.
