Howdy

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing Slimline card using some of the new Slimline dies released by Divinity Designs at the beginning of this month.

I used the following Slimline die sets to create this card: Slimline Card Base; Slimline Layering Rectangles; Slimline Rectangles; and Slimline Curvy Slopes. I die cut the background panel using the Slimline Layering Rectangles die set from white cardstock and then used Catherine Pooler inks in Sauna; Tiki Torch and Orange Twist to create my sunset background.

I used the Slimline Curvy Slopes die which I die cut from Kraft cardstock, these are the first two layers of the grounds at the bottom of my card. I added the mounts behind these two layers using one of the mountain dies from the Desert & Park Landscape Silhouettes die set which is one of the sets from the April Blessings Box. This was die cut twice from Kraft cardstock and adhered behind the curvy slopes, overlapping the mountains so the join doesn't show.

I die cut the men, horse, tree, grass, cacti and birds which are all from the Cowboys and Cactus Silhouettes die set from black cardstock and adhered them to my card panel. I die cut a sun from yellow cardstock and adhered it behind the mountain.

To finish off my card, I added a sentiment which is from the Happy Trails stamp set which is layered using the Sentiment Strip with Layers die set.

For the inside of my card I used the Slimline Curvy Slopes again along the base of my card and added the mountain from the Desert and Park Landscape Silhouettes die set. I also added two cowboys and a bird to complete my scene.

I added a sentiment from the Happy Trails stamp set to the top of my card.

Howdy

Howdy Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Slimline Card with you. One of the things I love about Slimline cards is the ability to extend the scene you are creating, you can get lots more on a Slimline card than you can a standard A2 card.

For my card today I combined Slimline dies from Pinkfresh Studio and Mama Elephant.

I inked up the sky and grass areas using inks from Catherine Pooler Designs. The grass is from the Mama Elephant Slim Line Basics die set.

To decorate my card I used stamps from MFT Stamps Best of the West stamp set. I also added a few trees which are from a Lawn Fawn die set, Stitched Trees Borders.

The Howdy sentiment is from an older MFT Stamps stamp set.

For the inside of the card I repeated some of the elements I used on the front of the card. I also added a Happy Birthday sentiment using another older MFT Stamps stamp set.

A Year Full of Adventures

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another Slimline Card using stamps, dies and papers from Divinity Designs.

Divinity Designs released 9 Slimline die sets on the 1st July, for my card today I used the Slimline Card Base, Slimline Rectangles and Slimline Layering Rectangles die sets.

To decorate my card I used one of the papers from the Landscapes Paper Collection for the top portion of the card.

To decorate the lower portion of the card I used  dies from the Desert & Park Landscape Silhouettes die set and the Cowboys & Cactus Silhouettes die set. These two die sets are both part of the April Blessing Box which is available to purchase if you are a Blessing Box member.

I added a sentiment from the Happy Trails stamp set.

For the inside of the card I used the Desert & Park Landscape Silhouettes die set and the Cowboys & Cactus Silhouettes die set and added two sentiments from the Happy Trails stamp set.

Boot Scootin' Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Kelly Santi our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Tomorrow is National Shoe the World Day.  Many teens and children around the world do not have a pair of shoes to wear, despite the climate or terrain, they walk barefoot.  Let’s create a card using any type of shoe – cowboy boots, heels, flip-flops, to help the awareness to donate any shoes you may no longer need.

For my card today I created a Sliding Window Card or Sliding Pop-up Card using Sunny Studio Stamps Sliding Window die set.
To create the wood floor base I used Hero Arts Wood Floor Bold Prints stamp which I embossed in white onto white cardstock. I then applied Age Mahogany, Abandoned Coral and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide inks for an ombre look.

To decorate my card I used Art Impressions new Cowgirls Clear stamp set, as soon as I saw this stamp set I knew it would be perfect for this challenge.
I added two sentiments to my card which are revealed when you pull the tab at the top of the card. One is under the image (Warm & Cozy" and the other is on the top section of the pull out panel just under the pink pull tab.
The pull tab is from Lawn Fawn's Double Slider Surprise die set.

I kept this card as a flat card rather than adding it to a folded card, so I decorated the back of the card by adding some more of the wood floor in ombre fashion along the bottom of the card. I also added two sentiments from the Cowgirls stamp set and stars from Altenew's Halftone Stars stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Saddle Up Frame Pull Pop-up

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being the beginning of a new month it is time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is Raquel Mason.

For our challenge this week Raquel has requested that we .... Make a card using any technique – can be any technique that you always wanted to try, an oldie but a goodie or even a technique that you saw on Pinterest.

I had planned on making a card using alcohol inks or similar, but as I had this card made and needed to post it I figured interactive cards we also a technique so went with that.

For my card I have used the new Karen Burniston Frame Pull Pop-up die set which is being released this month. This is such a fun die set and I am sure I will be using it a lot. I paired it up this time round with a stamp set from MFT Stamps.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

When you pull the tab with the arrow, it reveals the inside pop-up.

For this style of card, you have two options ... whether to adhere your panel to a card front or have it postcard style. As I had already stamped, colored and cut out so many images some not used on the front of the card, I decided to adhere my front panel to a top folding card and added a sentiment and the remaining images.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

The Karen Burniston / KB Riley LLC September release is now available for pre-order, shipping begins on 10th September. For your convenience I have included the links to all the new products here.

Saddle Up & Celebrate

Hi Crafty Friends,

Those of you who know me, know how much I love interactive or construction style of cards. I recently discovered a few new dies from Our Daily Bread Designs which I had to add to my stash. My card today uses one of those dies .... the Double Display Card die and it's coordinating Double Display Layers die set.

To decorate my card I used an new MFT Stamps stamp set called Saddle Up & Celebrate. I layered the cowboy and cowgirl and three balloons onto a circle panel which I then adhered to the left hand side of the card so that it was centred when the card is closed.

When you open the card up it reveals the rest of the cowboy scene ... the cacti; cowboy cake; wagon wheels and sentiments.

Here is another look at my card when it is opened so you can see how I have added the cacti images to both inner panels of the card.

Howdy

Hi everyone,

I have another shaker card to share with you today, as you may have noticed I have been in a shaker mood lately as this is my third shaker card in a week and a half.

I wanted to do something different then the normal shaker I usually do, so decided to die cut 3 circles on my card to create 3 shaker panels.

To decorate my card I used this cute Cowboy Dog from the Simon Says Stamp! Critter Costume Party. I stamped cowboy themed sentiments into two of the shaker circles and in the third I added the number "7". My Grandson is turning 7 this year, so someone can give this card to him or give it to one of his friends birthday parties he will be invited to.

For the inside of the card I used the same designer paper I used on the outside and added a large sentiment.

Stamps: Critter Costume Party - Simon Says Stamp!; It's a Western Thing - The Cat's Pajamas; Happy Birthday - Rubbernecker
Paper: White; Brown; Teal; Thoroughly Modern DP - Stampin' Up
Dies: Stitched Circles; Fitted Circles - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Other ECD Products: Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape 64mm
Other: Black Ink; Sequins; Foam Tape; Copics

October 2016 Pop It Ups Designer Challenge #2

Hi everyone,

Welcome to our second Pop It Ups Designer Challenge for October. This time round our challenge was set by Summer Hills-Painter who gave us the theme ...  "Boy oh Boy!" - think rough and tumble, boys will be boys, masculine or manly - no girls allowed!

Of course after Karen posted her tutorial back at the end of September on how to convert the Twist Circle Pop Up to a Twist Circle Panel Card I went a little mad and made quite a few of this style card ... this was one of them which I decided to keep for this challenge seeing it fitted the theme. You can find Karen tutorial here.

To decorate my card I used the Western Edges and the Props 6 die sets. The horse border and barb wire border are both inlaid into the designer paper I used so as not to catch on the panels when they fold down into the card.

The designer paper is from the Through the Lens - Wood paper pack.

The sentiments on the panels come from three different stamp sets ... Homegrown Greetings; Cocoa Western and the Occasions Clear Stamp sets.

For the front of the card I used the same paper as on the inside from the Through the Lens - Wood paper pack.

I used the Mountain Border and Horse Border from the Western Edges die set and die cut around them using the largest label in the Labels & Circles die set.  I cut another label from off white card and layered the two together.

Here is a closer look at my card as it is starting to close.

And one final photo as it is closing. You can see how the panel accordion folds together in the closed position.

If you are looking to purchase Karen's Pop It Ups dies in Australia you can find them at Craft Giraffe (now online only).

Don't forget to check out  Karen Burniston's blog  on Tuesday when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month, plus an amazing card/video tutorial from Karen Burniston.

Karen Burniston April Designer Challenge Day 1

Hi everyone,

It's time for our April Karen Burniston Designer Challenge. This time round Karen has given us the theme ..... The Great Outdoors - create any sort of outdoor scene.

For my card today I used the Hanging Charm Pull Tab Card die set to create a birthday card with a Western theme.

To decorate the card I have used the Western Edges die set. I have used the new Soft Finish Cardstock for all my layers and also the Through the Lens Wood 6 x 6 Patterned Cardstock

Rather than use the normal frame that is included in the Hanging Charm Pull Tab Card die set for my image, I was inspired to use one of the circles from the Stitched Circles die set after seeing a card recently created by Anita Izendoon. For the bottom circle I colored the card using Susan'sGarden PanPastel Flower Coloring Kit 3 to get a sunset effect.

For the sentiment I have used the Homegrown Greetings Clear Stamp Set also designed by Karen Burniston.

Here is a view of my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope. I cut the tab portion of the Hanging Charm Pull Tab slightly longer, by only die cutting the bottom part of the die and then trimming the sides of the tab all the way up. I also cut the corners of the tab to make it look like a tag. I added the sentiment "Pull" so people know to pull the tab when they get the card.

Around the bottom of the frame I added Black/Silver Glitter Dots Peel Off Stickers

Along the left side of the card I added the barb wire border included in the Western Edges die set.

When creating this style of card you have the option of creating a folded style card or keeping them flat. I prefer to keep mine flat, so I decorated the back of my card.

I added the woodgrain paper from the Through the Lens Wood 6 x 6 Patterned Cardstock on the left hand side of the card and then added the Barb wire border from the Western Edges die set.

On the lower right hand corner of the card I added the bandana, hat and boots from the Props 6 die set.

I added the sentiment using the Homegrown Greetings Clear Stamp Set

If you are looking to purchase Karen's Pop It Ups dies in Australia you can find them at Craft Giraffe (formerly Photo Continental).
