For my project today, I used “Ria and Andrea Dress Up Bugs”. This stamp is named after our two newest Design Team members who joined us a couple of months ago! Don’t they look cute here playing dress up hehe!

For my card I decided to create a tent topper card, it has been a while since I made one of these and they are lots of fun.

Alota-makeup-in-wm

Here is the inside of my card, I used one of the new sentiments which are also being released today called “Dress Up Words”. There are actually 4 sentiments in this set.

Alota-Makeup-puckerbox-wm

I also wanted to create a box to use with my card to give as a gift, I thought this card and box set would be good to use when giving makeup seeing that is what the bugs are doing. I found this fun template by Lauren Meader, it’s a pucker up box.

It’s day three of the sneak peeks for this month’s Alota Rubber Stamps release …. these stamps will be available to purchase on Monday 17th May.

It is also challenge time over on the Alota Rubber Stamps Blog and this week I am the hostess for the challenge.

These new stamps inspired the theme of this week's challenge. Alota has lots of adorable Bee and Bug images, that is what drew me to this company in the first place many years ago. So our theme for our challenge this week is "Going Buggy" .... create a card/project using bugs or bees on your card.

Do you want to play along???? you can use any stamps you want, although if you have Alota Rubber Stamps we would love to see them on your cards.

You have until the 31st May to complete this challenge, you can enter as many entries as you wish for a better chance of winning!!! You have a chance of winning some wonderful stamps if you card/project is selected randomly from all the entries received.

My card today uses one of the new stamps to be release …. “Millie L Dress Up Bug”.  Doesn’t she look cute with that hat hehe. I used Taylored Expressions Sketch challenge from last week (TESC112)

I will be back later on Sunday (Sunday 16th May 10pm EST) with the rest of the Alota Rubber Stamps Design Team for our blog hop to celebrate the release.

A Pocketful of Challenges!

C4C-Monkey-Pocket-wm

Hi everyone,

It Saturday which means it is time for another challenge with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.

This week it is my turn to host the challenge which is to create a card/project that has some form of pocket on it. You can use a stamp of a pocket, create a pocket style construction card, paper pieced pocket, pocket themed designer paper .... whatever as long as it has a pocket somewhere.

This week our sponsor for the challenge is The Stamping Boutique, so I used one of their cute digital images … the cute monkey in the pocket. I also discovered recently that I had this fun designer paper that also has pockets all over it so I also wanted to use that on my card.

C4C-Monkey-Pocket2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, the sentiment is an old one I have had for years but it works well with this week’s theme.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Let’s Go Fly A Kite!

Alota-Bugs-Kite-wm

Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height
Let's go fly a kite
And send it soaring

Oops sorry, I am at it again … I just couldn’t help singing that song from Mary Poppins … those cute little bugs flying their kites just got that song in my head and now I can’t get it out hehe!

As I promised yesterday, I am back again today with another sneak peek of the new stamps which are to be released by Alota Rubber Stamps this coming Monday 17th May.

This cute bug stamp is called “Cathy and Ken Kite Bugs” …. don’t they look like they are having fun! After stamping the image onto my card, I masked the image and then used my copic airbrush to color in the sand, water and sky.

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the Design Team to see what they have come up with today.

I will have another sneak peek to share with you all tomorrow!

Welcome to day 1 of the sneak peeks for the new stamps to be released by Alota Rubber Stamps this Monday 17th May.

Today I am playing around with “Irene B. Dress Up Bug” … isn’t it just as cute as a bug can be hehe!

As these bugs are ladybugs it gave me a good opportunity to also get to play with my ladybug designer paper I found a while back and also my MS Ladybug border punch.

Alota-CuteBug2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, I decided to leave it blank for now so I can just stamp something when I know what I am going to use this particular card for … birthday or something else.

Guess Hoo?

MFT-Greatest-Hits-Hoo-wm

Hi all,

The MFT Stamps Design Team are back today to play another “MFT’s Greatest Hits!” challenge. This month we are featuring the “Stephanie Fizer” range of stamps.

One of my favorite stamp sets in this range is of course the “Thinking Of Hoo?” set … because it has an owl in it …. now that isn’t so surprising is it, that I would love this set. So of course I had to pick this set for my card today.

Special Promotion for Thursday & Friday only ...... 15% off all Stephanie Fizer sets. Use the code is FIZER when you place your order.

After stamping the image onto my labels nestabilities, I added leaves to the branch.

I also used the new MFT Die-namics Scalloped Scallops to create the scallop edge to the bottom of my card.

MFT-Greatest-Hits-Hoo2-wm

Here is the inside of my card, here I stamped the speech bubble included in the set onto olive card and added the sentiment inside it. The owl seen on the inside is part of the designer paper and as it was almost in the middle of the paper I thought it would be fun to position the speech bubble so it appeared it was talking.

Stamps: Thinking of Hoo – MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Brown; Olive; DP – Kaisercraft
Other: Black Ink; Labels Nestabilities; Brown Grosgrain Ribbon; Bird 2 Step Punch; Olive Button; MFT Die-namics Scalloped Scallops; Foam Tape; Copics

Humpty Dumpty!

CCEE-Humpty-trishutter2-wm

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall,

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,

All the Kings horses,

And all the kings men,

Couldn’t put Humpty together again!

Hi all!

It is Thursday which means it is time for another challenge over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog.  This week we are continuing our May themed challenges celebrating Mothers & Babies.

This week we have an Inspiration challenge - create a card/project using a nursery rhyme as your inspiration. E.G. for Little Boy Blue you might have a boy on your card and use the color blue somewhere. You don't have to use a nursery rhymed themed stamp, although of course if you have one why not use it .

Well it is no surprise as to what nursery rhyme I selected to use hehe … yes “Humpty Dumpty”. I love collecting nursery rhyme themed stamps and just couldn’t help myself when these were released by Clear Dollar Stamps a few months ago!

I wanted to incorporate both Humpty's before and after his fall into my card so decided to create a tri shutter card.

CCEE-Humpty-trishutter-wm

Here is what my card looks like when it is closed.

CCEE-Humpty-trishutter3-wm

Here’s a close up of the right side of my Humpty Dumpty trishutter card.

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Fun In The Sun Shadow Box!

MFT-Beachbum-Shadowbox2-wm

Hi everyone,

Before I get into my card for today …. Happy Mother’s Day for all those Mothers out there, I hope you have a fantastic day!

At the beginning of the MFTeasers I posted a sneak peek of the new Die-namics dies that MFT Stamps has just recently released. One of these was the MFT Die-namics Jumbo Scallops Die and I showed you on my post that the piece left over after you cut out the scallop die looked like waves when you put a few together. At the time I only had a sample of the waves … as I hadn’t had time to create a card using the waves.

Well I have finally managed to get a card made using the waves I had created back then …. I created a shadow box card. I added the waves using MFT Die-namics Jumbo Scallops Die to both the outside of my shadow box and the inside.

The stamp set used here is one of MFT Stamps new Pure Innocence sets called “Beach Bum”. I paper pieced her bathing suit using green polka dot designer paper.

MFT-Beachbum-Shadowbox-wm

The clouds are also one of the new MFT Stamps dies - MFT Die-namics Clouds …. for my card I die cut the cloud die using clear acetate. My acetate is thinner than normal card, so for a clean cut I suggest adding a shim to the sandwich. After I had diecut the clouds I sponge white ink using stazon white.

MFT-Beachbum-Shadowbox3

Here is a close up of the waves and also the Pure Innocence ‘Bum Beach” girl.

Stamps: PI Beach Bum – MFT Stamps
Paper: White; Orange; DP
Dies: MFT Die-namics Clouds; MFT Die-namics Jumbo Scallops – MFT Stamps
Other: Black Ink; Blue Ink; White Stazon Ink; Labels Nestabilities; Modern Label Tag Punch & Die; Clear Acetate; Foam Tape; Copics
