Repositionable Peel-Offs

ECD-NapkinHolder-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s time for our June Elizabeth Craft Designs Designer Challenge. Check out the Elizabeth Crafts Designs blog on today at 8AM MST when you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

Our theme this month was to create Repositionable Stickers you can see a video Els created using this technique here.

ECD-NapkinHolder2-wm

Until this challenge was set about a month ago I had never played with repositionable stickers … but I have to tell you they are sooo much fun and they are great to use to create gifts or decorate various things around the home.

ECD-NapkinHolder3-wm

Recently while out grocery shopping I found this clear napkin holder which I thought would be fun to decorate for Christmas. Of course because the stickers are repositionable, I can remove the stickers from the napkin holder once Christmas is over and replace them with something else if I wanted to.

ECD-NapkinHolder4-wm

For this napkin holder I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Christmas Trees (SKU 0438) Peel-Off Stickers, Transfer Sheet (SKU 600); Double Sided Adhesive Paper and Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

ECD-NapkinHolder6-wm

Here is how I created my repositionable stickers:

1. Cut a piece of Double Sided Adhesive sheet the same size as the transfer sheet. Remove the release sheet from one side of the adhesive and set aside upside down on your desk (shiny side up). Adhere your Double Sided Adhesive sheet to the front of the transfer sheet (the clear side).

2. Remove the Christmas Trees from the Christmas Trees Peel-Off Stickers. Place these sticky side up onto the release sheet that we set aside earlier.

3. Take your adhesive transfer sheet and place it with the adhesive side facing down onto the release sheet with the Peel-Offs on it. The Peel-Offs will lift from the release sheet and stick to the adhesive on the transfer sheet.

ECD-NapkinHolder5-wm

4. Cover the adhesive with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and polish with your finger.  Color your images as desired. Cut out all of the Christmas Trees, remove the release sheet from the back of the transfer sheet and place the trees on the item you wish to decorate .

OwlCase-wm

Of course as I love owls I had to create something using the Owl Circles (SKU 2560) Peel-Off Stickers to decorate a tin I am using to store my Elizabeth Craft Designs Embossing Folders in.

ECD-LittleCutie-wm

For my final project for today I decided to create a tiny paint pail I found in a cheap store recently. This time round I used the Little Cuties (SKU 2562) Peel-Off Stickers.

Thanks for stopping by, don’t forget to check out the Elizabeth Crafts Designs blog where you will be able to see what all the designers created for the challenge this month.

Season’s Greetings

ECDOrnamentStandup2-wm

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing another Stand Up card using three of the new dies being released by Elizabeth Craft Designs in July.

Elizabeth Craft Designs will be releasing 43 new dies and dies sets (including 16 designed by Karen Burniston), two new Shimmer Sheetz colors, and a new Shimmer Sheetz Sampler Pack. Dies will be available in stores mid July.

ECDOrnamentStandup-wm

I am just loving the new ECD Word Stand Up Helper dies. There are 9 different Word Stand Up Helper dies being released which can be used like I have on my card above as a Stand Up Helper to keep my card in the stand up position or as a sentiment anywhere else on your card. You are going to LOVE these dies.

My card  uses the new Ornaments Set 3 (927); Holly Leaves & Berries (926) and the Season’s Greetings Stand Up Helper (940) Dies.

To create my card I die cut the two overlay ornament dies from gold card and the silhouette ornament die I cut twice using Double Sided Adhesive Paper layered onto card. I then placed the overlays onto the adhesive silhouette layer and added Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter, polished the glitter into the image and colored using copics.

To look like the ornaments were hanging I used the “string” from the Balloons Die set (726) and then added the Holly Leaves from the Holly Leaves & Berries (926).

For the stand up portion of the card I used the Stand Up Helper die to cut into the base card and then die cut another one in gold which I adhered over the green base so the word stood out a little better from the green in the rest of the card.

On the front base of the card I added more Holly Leaves & Berries (926) and some gold peel-off sticker lines along the designer paper.

ECDOrnamentStandup3-wm

Here is another photo of my card, this time when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Don’t forget to check out Elizabeth Craft Designs Facebook page for even more sneak peeks this week.

Swingin’ By

SwinginAccord2-wm

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.   Peggy McCurry our challenge hostess for June finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Our challenge this week is ….. Summer/Winter
We are now past the 21st of June and for those of us north of the Equator we are officially into summer and those “down under” are into winter. My challenge, depending on where you live, is to make a card/project that depicts the season where you are.

Down here in Australia winter officially started on the 1st June, and I guess technically I should have created a card with snow etc on it. However where I live we NEVER have snow and this year we seem to be experiencing a very mild winter so far. It isn’t really that cool.  And whether it was winter or summer my Grandchildren can have fun playing on their swings, so I decided to use this card for my challenge card today.

SwinginAccord3-wm

As you can see I have created an accordion card combining the Oval Accordion Card die with the new Katie Label Accordion card die designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs. I was so excited when I saw that Karen had created another accordion die the same size as the Oval one as I just love combining the two together. The Katie Label Accordion Card die will be released by Elizabeth Crafts Designs in July.

Oh and if you look at the border on the Oval Accordion page, you can see a new Frame Edge die for the Oval Accordion … Clouds what fun!

SwinginAccord4-wm

I used CC Designs Roberto’s Rascals Swingin’ stamp for the left and right panels, I know I have said it before but these guys so look like my Grandkids hehe! The sentiment on the centre panel was created on my computer.

SwinginAccord-wm

And here is my card when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope as you can see I have also added some flowers to my card which were created using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Flower Set 3.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

    Glittered Butterfly

    Hi everyone,

It is my turn to post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today. Today I am sharing a card I created recently using a number of Elizabeth Craft Designs dies, Shimmer Sheetz, Velvet Adhesive Sheets and Glitter. This card is larger than a normal A2 card as I wanted plenty of room for the trellis, leaves and butterfly. My card is 5 1/2 inches wide by 6 1/4 tall, but I still wanted it to be a top folding card,  so I will also share with you how I was able to do that.

Here's how I created my card:

    1. Cut two pieces of blue card that measure 6 1/4 inches x 5 1/2 inches
    2. Cut one piece of cream card that measures 6 inches x 5 1/4 inches

    3. Cut a piece of Light Blue Shimmer Sheetz 5 3/4inches by 5 inches. Emboss the Shimmer Sheetz using the Swirly Curves Embossing Folder. You will need to emboss one half of your Shimmer Sheetz first and then overlap the embossing folder slightly on your already embossed piece and complete embossing the Shimmer Sheetz. Use a sanding block to reveal the white core from the raised areas of the Shimmer Sheetz.
    4. Die cut the Bamboo Trellis from Cream Card
    5. Die cut from Green Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz three of the Flourish with Flowers
    6. Die cut from Purple Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz the Butterfly Silhouette & body.
    7. Add a piece of Double Sided Adhesive Paper large enough to fit Butterfly Overlay (705). Remove protective layer from one side and place onto a piece of designer paper. Die cut paper using the Butterfly Overlay die. Remove all the excess pieces from the butterflies wings if needed. Remove protective backing from the Adhesive Paper and cover butterfly with Lavender Silk Microfine Glitter, polishing the glitter into the wings with your fingers.
    8. Assemble the glittered Butterfly Overlay to the Purple Shimmer Sheetz Silhouette adhering them only at the body section of the butterfly. Adhere the Purple Shimmer Sheetz Butterfly Body on top of the glittered body.
    9. Using the two small flowers from Flower Set 3, die cut 5 of each size flower from Pink Velvet Adhesive Sheet. Die cut the flower center using Beige Velvet Adhesive Sheet. Assemble  the flowers using foam adhesive between the two flower layers to give a little depth.
    Assembling the Card:
    10. Layer the Embossed Blue Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz panel onto the Cream Panel, and then layer this onto one of your pieces of blue card.

    11. On the remaining piece of blue card score 1/2 inch down along the long side of your card and fold this both ways. Add adhesive to one side of the 1/2 inch scored section and then attach this to the back of your card. You now have a top folding card.

    12. Add pieces of foam tape to the back of the Trellis piece and place this on your card as per photo above.

    13. Place your Green Shimmer Sheetz Flourish with Flowers pieces through the Bamboo Trellis as per photo. Use liquid glue to adhere the flourish to the trellis in a few places were they touch.

    14. Attach the pink flowers over the flowers on the flourish using foam tape. To achieve a bit more height to a couple of the flowers you may want to add a couple of layers of foam tap under the flourish to secure to card.  I only secured the three flowers on the left to my card. The two at the top didn't need adhering.

    15. Add the Butterfly to the card using foam tape just under the body section only. Bend the wings slightly on both the Purple Shimmer Sheetz and the Glittered Wings.

    The Inside:

    16. Cut a piece of cream card 5 1/4 inches x 5 1/2 inches and adhere to the inside of your card.
    17. Using Pink Velvet Adhesive Sheetz, die the word Happy Birthday (783). Place this onto the lower section of the inside of the card as per photo.
    Thanks for stopping by today.

    Elizabeth Craft Designs Sneak Peek

    ECD-Snowman-wm

    Hi everyone,

    Have you heard the news?????

I am excited to announce that Elizabeth Craft Designs will be releasing 43 new dies and dies sets (including 16 designed by Karen Burniston), two new Shimmer Sheetz colors, and a new Shimmer Sheetz Sampler Pack. Dies will be available in stores mid July.

I have already shared a few sneak peeks of Karen Burniston’s new dies and Karen will be sharing the remainder of her release in a few days.

Elizabeth Craft Designs has started to reveal their new release dies on Facebook, so if you want to see more of what is coming check out Elizabeth Craft Designs Facebook page here.

    ECD-Snowman2-wm

Today I am sharing a Stand-Up card I created yesterday using some of the new dies. Elizabeth Craft Designs are releasing a new set of Stand-Up Helper Set 2 Dies which include the snowflake you can see at the base of my card that keep the card in the stand-up position … these are soooo easy to use!!!!!!!!!!! Just decide where you want your stand-up helpers to go, on this card I decided I wanted two (but you could just use one) and I lined it up on the centre score mark I added to the base of my card.

As well as the Stand-Up Helper Set 2 Die set, Elizabeth Craft Designs will be releasing 9 Stand up Helper Word dies (which can be purchased individually) which can be used in other ways too which are soooo cool, I have been having fun with these and will share some of these during the coming week.

Of course my card also includes the new Snowman Die to be released …. love love love this snowman which comes with all the individual dies to decorate him including the broom which could be used for Halloween.

To create my card I placed a piece of Elizabeth Craft Designs Double Sided Adhesive Paper onto some white card and then die cut the 5 Part Pine (already available); the Snowman; 2 Snowflake Stand-Up Helper Dies from the Stand-Up Helper Set 2; the rolling hills from Karen Burniston’s new Outdoor Edges die set and some snowflakes from the All Seasons Tree Die Set (already released).

Once all the pieces where die cut I added Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to all the pieces and assembled my card. I added the two snowflake Stand-up helper glittered pieces to the two I cut on the base of my card so they would be glittered along with the rest of the elements on my card.

The eyes and buttons on the snowman were die cut using Black Velvet Adhesive Sheets and the Scarf and trim on the hat were die cut using Red Velvet Adhesive Sheets.

    ECD-Snowman3-wm

Here is a close up of the snowman and the Snowflake Stand-Up Helpers … I added some Silver/Clear Glitter Dots to the centres of all the snowflakes.

    Yah! It’s Your Birthday

    CCEE1426Sunglasses1-wm

    Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. This week Anne Harmon, brings us her final challenge for the month.

Our challenge this week is Sunglasses…… Now that the sun is directly overhead, we all need to be protecting our "peepers", right! Please make a card that uses sunglasses.

    CCEE1426Sunglasses2-wm

For my card today I decided to use this fun image from Suzy Toronto which I think is called Daughter in Law … it is a stamp I have had for a few years now, but i think this is the first time I have used it … oops I love it!

As you can see I turned my card into a Pop Up card using the Lots of Pops Pop Up set designed by Karen Burniston’s for Elizabeth Crafts Designs.

    CCEE1426Sunglasses3-wm

For this card I didn’t pop up any of the pop up pieces other than the main large one which the girls are mounted to, which you can probably see better in this photo above.

I also added two Quotable pieces to the top and bottom of my card and divided my sentiment between the two panels.

    CCEE1426Sunglasses4-wm

Here is a closer look at the sentiment panel at the bottom of my card. You can also see that I have randomly added some glitter dots to my panel.

    CCEE1426Sunglasses-wm

And finally the outside of my card … I added a large speech bubble which I layered by cutting another speech bubble in a different color and then cutting apart so I could get a border peeking through. And for good measure I added another pair of sunglasses.

Don’t forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog (goes live 12 AM EST) to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs:

Also included in the Hoppy the Frog die is a fly and the lily … don’t you just love that cute fly!

Oh and the lips on the frog come from yet another new die set called Props which include things like lips, moustache; hat; glasses etc.

    Have A Cool Yule

    ChillyOrnamentAccord2-wm

    Hi everyone,

As you can see I have been having lots of fun playing with Karen Burniston’s new dies which will be released by Elizabeth Crafts Designs in July.

This time round I have created another Accordion Card using the new Ring Accordion Album. Chilly The Penguin and Props die sets.

I just love Chilly … isn’t he adorable! For my card today I die cut Chilly from white and black card. After I pieced my first penguin together I was left with enough pieces almost to make another penguin but it would be the negative of the first … all I had to do was die cut more eyes, beak and feet .. so I went for it and love the look!

    ChillyOrnamentAccord3-wm

I die cut 3 of the pages again using designer paper to cover the first and last pages … one thing to note if you are covering the front with Designer papers you need to turn your designer paper the opposite way to how you cut the pages inside. EG … if you die cut the pages pattern side up for the inside … you would die cut your front page pattern side down … make sense???

    ChillyOrnamentAccord4-wm

The Ring Accordion Album also comes with the tops of ornaments which you can use to decorate your card … on this one I added the ornament hangers to the first and last page.

I die cut the scarf (from the Chilly the Penguin set) and the Hat (from the Props Set) from red and green card adhering Double Sided Adhesive Paper to the front of the card before die cutting. Once cut I added Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to make the hat and scarf a little more festive. I alternated the colors I used on each penguin.

    ChillyOrnamentAccord-wm

And one final photo this time of the front when the card is closed.

Oh btw the snowflakes used on this card is from the All Seasons Tree.

Stamps: Polar Holiday – The Cat’s Pajamas
Paper: White; Black; Red; Green; Christmas Past DP – Graphic 45; ECD Double Sided Adhesive Paper
Dies: Ring Accordion Album; Props; Chilly The Penguin; All Seasons Tree – designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs
Other: Black Ink; Red and Green Rhinestones; Foam Tape
