50th Anniversary Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

A friend asked if I would make an Anniversary card for friends of hers who are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary this month. As you can see, I said yes! I drew inspiration from a card I created earlier in the year making a few changes and adding gold, seeing the 50th anniversary is also known as the golden wedding anniversary.

As you can see I used Karen Burniston's Arch Pop up die set. Like the card I made back in June, I pulled out a number of different heart die sets to create a love themed card. I added the gold hearts in the centre of the arch, again to indicate the Golden Wedding Anniversay.

Along the bottom portion of the card, I added the Anniversary sentiment using the Word Set 12 - Anniversary and the Numbers die sets. I die cut this from gold and red cardstock and offset the gold over the red.

On the other side of the card I added a red heart and then added the names "Mary, Bill" the names of the couple celebrating.

As the focus of this card is on the inside, I kept the front of the card simple. I added a few hearts and then a couple of sentiments.

I added a panel on the back of my card, for a place to write a personal message.

Love You

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing another card I created using one of the new dies from Karen Burniston’s June release. The new dies & stamp sets will be available on Monday 16th June.

This time round I am playing with the new Arch Pop up die sets. There are also two add on die sets that coordinate with this set .. balloons & rainbow, however for my card I pulled out a number of different heart die sets to create a love themed card.

The “love you” sentiment is from the Word Set 9 - Love die set.

As the focus of this card is on the inside, I kept the front of the card simple. I added a few hearts and then a couple of sentiments.

51st Anniversary

Hi Crafty Friends,

It was our 51st Anniversary last week, so of course it was the perfect opportunity to play with Karen Burniston's new Heart Add-ons die set that works with the Fancy Label Accordion die set. I am loving how the new dies give a totally new look to this popular and timeless Accordion die set.

On the left side of the card, I used the "Happy Anniversary" die from Word Set 12 - Anniversary die set. I had to cut the "Anniversary" apart so it would fit on the panels.

On the right hand panel I added the "51st" which is from the Numbers die set. I also added a few of the candy hearts from the new Candy Heart Box die set.

Here is a look at my card, when the card is closed. I added two of the hearts included in the Hearts Add-on die set. Normally the image that is seen on the left panel when the card is opened is also seen when it is closed, however using the add-on die sets makes it more naturally to have an images or sentiment on both sides so a different one is seen when the card is closed.

I added a panel to the back of the card, and three more of the candy hearts. This is so I can write a personal message on the back of my card.

Happy Anniversary

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing an anniversary card I made for my hubby as we are celebrating 50 years of marriage today.

50 years is also known as the golden anniversary to I kept with a gold and white theme for my card today.

I created what is known as a "Showstopper card" by adhering two tri-fold cards together using the Made To Surprise by Sam Calcott's
Tri-fold 6 x 6 Showstopper Card die  set.

For the white panels of the card I dry embossed the panels using the Linen Embossing Folder also from Made To Surprise.

My card folds flat (as you can see in the photo above), the size when folded is 6 inches x 10 inches.

To decorate my card I used two images from Tattered Lace which I die cut from gold pearlescent cardstock.

On the centre portion of my card I added circles using circle dies from Creative Craft Products and then added the "Happy 50th Anniversary" using dies from Karen Burniston.

To finish off the card I added gold pearls randomly to the card.

For the back of my card, I added panels using the dies from the Showstopper die set.

On the left side panel I added a sentiment using a stamp set from Divinity Designs. This sentiment was layered using. Oval Nesting dies from Creative Craft Products.

On the right hand panel, I added a computer generate panel which goes through how many months, weeks, days, minutes and seconds 50 years is.

Sending Love Hearts

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Liz Williams, our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenges.

Valentine’s Day is a big card sending holiday, so make a special Valentine’s card or a friendship card using a style you love and mail in to someone you love.

Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

For my card today, I created a Mini Slimline pop-up card using Karen Burniston's new Heart Collage Collage Pop-up. I decorated the pop-up using the hearts included in the die set, die cutting the hearts from various colors of cardstock; glitter cardstock and patterned paper.

I also used the Hearts - Crosshatch die set, which I placed at the top right hand corner of my card. This is a place to add a hand written sentiment.

For the sentiment I used the new Sending Love Word die set, adding the "sending" to the top hearts and the "Love" to the bottom left hand corner of my card.

I kept the front of my card fairly simple as the focus is on the inside of the card. I added hearts using the Hearts - Crosshatch die set and the "Hugs" sentiment from the Word Set 14 - Hugs die set.

Love You Anniversary Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Earlier this month, my husband & I celebrated our 49th anniversary, of course I had to make him a special card.

I have been having fun playing with Scappy Tails Craft Slimline Snow Globe die set, so I decided to pull it out to create my card for our anniversary.

I die cut the main frame die from the set four times from blue cardstock and two times from heart patterned paper. I layered two cardstock frames and one patterned paper frame together to create two decorated frames. One for the back and one for the front. I used the other dies included in the die set to assemble the snow globe as directed.

I used the smaller of the oval panels included in the die set to create the centre spinner panel. To decorate the panel I added two hearts. I then added the "love" and "you" from Karen Burniston's Pop 'n Swap die set which I placed on each of the hearts.

In between each of the hearts I added "49th" using the dies from Karen Burniston's Numbers die set. These were die cut from gold foil cardstock.

I placed my "Happy Anniversary" sentiment to the base of the snow globe, using Karen Burniston's Word Set 12 - Anniversary die set.

To decorate the very top of the snow globe I added a bow using Spellbinders Christmas - Shopping Cart Holiday And Presents die set.

I created two centre panels exactly the same, sandwiching the twine that makes it spin between the panels.

I kept the back fairly simple, added just the "XOXO" above the label, which gave me a place to write my personal greeting.

65th Anniversary

Hi Crafty Friends,

t’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Being a brand new month it's time to introduce our new challenge hostess which is Karen Ostergard.

Karen says ... September is my birth month. To start my birthday month celebration, make a birthday card with some dark blue - as my birthstone is the sapphire!

A couple at the club I belong to recently celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary, so I wanted to make a card to give them in honour of this occasion. The 65th Anniversary is called the Blue Sapphire Anniversary, so it was a perfect opportunity to make a card for the happy couple and complete this challenge at the same time.

As you can see I created a Slimline Shaker Pop up Card using Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Slimline with Hearts die set. I used Whimsy Stamps Waves Embossing Folder over the hearts panel to add some texture to the panel. I added blue and white sequins to the heart shaker windows.

I added the silver foiled "Happy Anniversary" sentiment over the middle heart using Spellbinders Mini Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Collection.

For the inside of the card I created a pop up card using Crafter's Companion's Pop-Out Numbers die set. I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Royal Blue Silk Microfine Glitter to decorated the numbers.

I used slimline border dies from Dare 2B Artzy to add borders to the top and bottom edges of my card.

The hearts on either side of the "65" is from the heart panel on the front of the card.

I added the "Anniversary" sentiment which is die cut from silver mirror cardstock and blue cardstock which is from Karen Burniston's Word Set 12 - Anniversary die set.

The "Congrats" was created using Pinkfresh Studio's Perfect Sentiments Hot Foil Stamp and silver foil.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

Love Hearts Anniversary

Hi Crafty Friends,

Earlier this month, it was my husband & I's anniversary, of course I had to make him a special card. As I received a few new stamps/dies from Lawn Fawn prior to the day I decided to use a few of those products to make my card.

As you can see, I created a Slimline card using Lawn Fawn's new Scalloped Slimline with Hearts: Landscape die set. I die cut the heart panel from aqua & red cardstock. I used STAMPlorations Burst stencil to add some interest to the aqua panel. I layered the aqua panel onto the white scalloped panel die cut using the outer die included in the die set. This was then all layered onto a top folded red card base.

I pieced the red hearts into the opening of the blue panel.

To decorate the card I used the birds from Lawn Fawn's Special Delivery stamp set.

For the inside of my card I decided to create a pop up card using Lawn Fawn's new Pop-up Big Hugs die set, they don't have a Love pop-up so this was the closest I could get. I also used Dare 2B Artzy's Wavy Slimline Die set to create the aqua wavy borders on the card. I used the same stencil I used on the front of the card to add detail to all three aqua layers on the inside of the card.

I also added three more of the birds to the top portion of my pop up card.

I added the "Happy Anniversary" sentiment which is from Karen Burniston's Word Set 12 - Wedding die set. This was layered onto an elongated oval from Spellbinders which I have had in my stash for a number of years.

Happy Anniversary

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today I am sharing an anniversary card I made for my hubby as we are celebrating 47 years of marriage today.

For the front of my card, I decided to use the Creative Expressions Champagne Celebration Edger die  which I received in an order earlier in the month. I have been eyeing the edger dies from Creative Expressions for a while now and decided it was about time I added one to my stash. I figured this champagne one would be useful for a lot of occasions.

I die cut the champagne edger from Gold Cardstock and then adhered this to black, and trimmed around the left hand side of the black cardstock, so just the gold showed. I then layered this to some patterned paper and finally to a folded card.

Seeing I make lots of pop-up cards, I couldn't not make a card for such an important occasion without it being a pop-up or something special too. I decided to use Karen Burniston's Heart Pivot Panels. I die cut the main die from black cardstock, and then decorated the panel with hearts using gold, glitter gold and pearlescent cream cardstocks.

I also added three hearts from the new Love Charms die set. The "XOXO" and "Love You" sentiments are from the Word Set 9 - Love die set. I die cut these to sentiments using gold glitter cardstock.

I added the number 47 to the top of the card using the Numbers die set.

Finally I added the Happy Anniversary sentiment which is from a Neat & Tangled die set.

The rectangle & square panels in the two corners are from the Crosshatch - Squares and Crosshatch - Rectangles die set.
