Fancactus Birthday

 

Hi Crafty Friends,

I hope you are all having a fancactus day! As you can see my card today is a cactus themed 5 x 7 card. I used Avery Elle’s Aloe Amigo stamp set, which I have had for a while but had forgotten about, 

For my layers I used Spellbinders Stitched Notch Corner Card die set which was the Stitched die of the month for December 24.

I also used Spellbinders Plaster 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the green card base. I rubbed a green ink pad over the raised areas after it was embossed.

I added the sentiment which is an older stamp set from Colorado Craft Company.

For the inside of my card I added a sentiment from an older cactus themed die set and also a Happy Birthday sentiment.

Today I am sharing an owl themed birthday card I created recently.

I created a Shutter Card using Creative Craft Products Octagonal Shutter Card die set from their Step On Up Collection available from Craft Stash. 

I used the last of my Doodlebug Designs Rainbow Ribbons Patterned Paper ... I just love those balloons. Unfortunately I think it has been discontinued as it would be a few years old now.

To decorate my card I used Avery Elle's Hoot Hoot Hooray stamp set, this was one owl stamp set I couldn't resist.

This card folds down to approximately 3 1/2 inches x 7 1/4 inches, so would fit easily into a Slimline envelope.

I added the octagon layers, to one of the octagon panels at the back of the card, as a place to add a personal message. I also added another of the owls that I used on the front of my card.

Today I am sharing a Pull card I created recently.

To create this card I used the Rectangle Pull Card die set which is an older die set designed by Karen Burniston when she was designing for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

To decorate my card I used Avery Elle's Peek-a-Boo Fair Clear stamp set. I stamped the bumper car, unicorn, flag, fairy floss and stars from the stamp set.

When you 'pull' the left side of the card it reveals a sentiment. I used a birthday sentiment from Catherine Pooler Designs Say It In Diamonds stamp set.

Thinking of You

Today I am sharing a quick card I created recently. With so many people having to stay home right now and not be able to visit with family and friends, I want to create a few quick cards I can send out to let them know they aren't alone.

For my card today I used Taylored Expressions Diagonal Stripes Cutting Plate which I used to die cut black, white and patterned paper.

I paper pieced the patterned paper stripes into the black frame committing one of the pattern stripes for a white stripe.

I added a sentiment and hearts using Avery Elle's Loads of Wishes stamp set.

For the inside of the card I die cut a rectangle panel using Heffy Doodles Imperial Stitched Rectangles die set. I used the left over patterned paper stripe which I didn't use on the front of the card to the bottom section of the card.

I added two sentiments from Altenew's Hello and Hugs stamp set.

Have A Stellar Birthday

Today I am sharing a Slimline card, this card measures 3 1/2 inches x 8 1/2 inches and fits inside a business size envelope.

To create the slimline card I used Trinity Stamps Stitched Card Panels and Windows die set.

For the background of my card, I created the galaxy sky background using distress oxide inks. I then splattered the background with white paint & Lawn Fawn's Liquid Stardust. I then white embossed the constellation and stars to the background.

The space images are all from Avery Elle's Astronauts stamp set.

For the inside of the card I stamped two sentiments, one from the Avery Elle stamp set and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from the MFT Stamps Bitty Birthday sentiments. I also added a few more of the space images to the card.

Birthday Reveal Wheel Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Karen Ostergard our challenge hostess for July finishes off the month with one last challenge.

Apparently today is Karen's son's birthday - so our challenge this week is to inspire us with a masculine birthday card.

For my card today I decided to create a reveal wheel card using dies from Lawn Fawn. Here is a quick video to see my card in action.

To decorate my card today I used Avery Elle's Peek-A-Boo Pals and Peek-A-Boo Cars stamp sets.

For the background I used distress oxide inks to create my sky background and added a grey panel to represent a road.

For the reveal wheel portion of my card I decided to use the Semi Circle Add On and stamped sentiments into the space. Due to the size of the opening, there are only 2 sentiments when you turn the wheel rather than the 4 on all my previous reveal wheels.

For the inside of the card I added the animals and present that I used on the front of the card and added a sentiment from Gerda Steiner Designs.

There seems to be lots of fun "summer" themed stamps being released at the moment. I couldn't resist this one from Avery Elle called Pool Party.

For my card today I created a Sliding Window Card using the die set from Sunny Studio Stamps. 

I used Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass and Broken China to add the sky area to the base of my card. I then used white pigment ink to add clouds over the background.

The Sun is from Karen Burniston's Tropical Scene die set.

Along the bottom of the card I added grass which is die cut using the grass border die from Karen Burniston's Nature Edges die set.

When you pull the tab at the top of the card it reveals a sentiment on the white panel at the bottom and top of the card which is hidden when the card is closed. 

For the back of the card I added some grass along the bottom edge of the card and also the umbrella and cup. I also added two sentiments from the stamp set.

It’s challenge time with the “Crazies” over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Raquel Mason our challenge hostess for the month continues to issue the challenge.

 Apparently It’s Grandparents Day tomorrow – so our challenge is to make a card to show someone you love them or to show appreciation for what they do for you……basically a thank you.

For my card today, I pulled out the Avery Elle Blooming Clear Stamp set, which I have been wanting to use for a month or two now, it includes three sentiments that are thank you related so it was perfect for this challenge.

I stamped the floral frame onto watercolor paper and embossed the image using black ink and clear embossing powder. I then used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color in the image.

For the card I used Our Daily Bread Designs Double Display Card and the coordinating Double Display Layers die set.

For the sentiment on the inside of the card I used Elizabeth Craft Designs Fitted Hexagons and Stitched Hexagons die sets and the sentiment from the Concord and 9th Lovely die set. I also added a few of the single flowers around the hexagon.

To finish off the card I added Nuvo Drops to the top and bottom striped panels.

Here is another look at my card, this time when it is closed ready to be placed in an envelope.

Make A Wish

Today I am sharing a pop up card I created recently using Karen Burniston's Snowman Twist Circle Pop-up die set. It has been a while since I played with this set as I have been having lots of fun playing with Karen's newer pop-up die sets. This die set is a lot of fun, so it was great to be able to pull it out and play with it.

To decorate my card I used Avery Elle's Critter Crew Clear Stamp set. I have had this stamp set sitting on my desk waiting to be used for a little while now, so it was good to ink that up finally.

On either side of the card I added sentiments from a Mama Elephant sentiment set, using the labels from the Katherine Label Pop-up die set.

For the front of the card I used MFT Stamps Happy Birthday Block die to create the birthday sentiment.

Here is one final photo showing my card as it is closing, the circle part of the card "twists" to the opposite direction as it closes.

Hope Your Birthday is a Splash

It's challenge time with my friends over on the CCEE Stampers challenge blog. Joanne Grzelak our challenge hostess for the month, continues to issue the challenges.

This week's challenge is "Relaxation". Create a card that depicts Relaxation to you. Can be a place where you are relaxed or what you do to relax.

I have been wanting to create a card using Avery Elle's Splash stamp set with coordinating dies for a while now and today's challenge seemed like the perfect time to make it.

I created a pop-up card using Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-up die set along with the Nature Edges; Palm Tree and Tropical Scene die sets.

I used part of the pool on the left hand side of the card for the inside of the card.

For the front of the card, I repeated the pool element I used on the inside. This time including the whole pool. The water inside the pool was created using distress oxide inks.
