Santa Baby!

Hi all!

The 20th of each month is Celebrate MFT Day ….. well that is today! So of course I wanted to make a card using MFT Stamps. My card today uses one of the new sets that was released earlier in the month. This is Santa Baby …. which is this months WTG (Who’s that Girl) set.

I paper pieced the girl dress using the same designer paper as that on the circle on the left side of the card. Santa’s beard and cuffs of his suit have had white flocking added to them. I used my new Mistletoe Kisses Cuttlebug Embossing Folder to create the background on my card.

Winter Wishes!

Hi!

As promised I am back again today with some more sneak peeks of the new stamps that will be released by Elzybells Art Stamps on Thursday 22nd October.

Today I am using the Tags – Christmas set … just love this set! You can see more ideas using this set in my post I did yesterday.

If you look at both of my projects today you will notice I have used the snowmen stamps included in the set … at first glance they might look like the same stamp … but they aren’t! One the snowman is solid and the other the background is solid which means you get a different look when you stamp them.

For my first card I used the solid snowman and also one of the tiny sentiments included in this set. I stamped the snowman on blue card using white ink and then embossed it with white embossing powder. The snowmen are on the blue middle layer of the card. The top white layer I punched out the holes so the snowmen would show through … I also used the snow cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to this layer, and then attached it over the blue layer using foam tape. It is hard to tell in the photo but I also added 3 score lines down the right side and bottom of my card.

My second project today is a Christmas ornament and this time I used the snowman with the solid background. I stamped my snowman onto white card using navy ink. I also stamped the sentiment circle also included in this set onto white card using navy ink.

To create my ornament I used the Fleur De Lis Pendant Die from Spellbinders. I cut out two of these from navy card and sponged the edges using white ink. And then layered everything using foam tape for added dimension.

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Greetings again everyone …. yes I am back again today with more to share with you. Today starts the beginning of the Elzybells Art Stamps sneak peeks, in readiness of their new release which will be happening this coming Thursday 22nd October.

As much as we mightn’t want to hear it Christmas is getting closer just over two months away …. yikes!

My cards today are 3 x 3 note cards (or gift tags) which I created using two of the new clear sets to be released. The stamps are from Mini Messages – Christmas & Tags – Christmas, I have to say I have had lots of fun with these two sets and you will see more of these later on in the week. These are such useful sets to have, they are great for tags, cards and many other projects you might create with Christmas in mind.

My first note card using the Mini Messages – Christmas set … it comes with two round sentiment of different sizes and a number of fun images as well as mini greetings.

This card combines both of the sets I am featuring today. All my notecards are the same other then the colors and images I used.

And my final note card uses the Tags – Christmas set. I stamped the holly in green in the centre of the circle and then added crystals over the holly berries.

Sparklegirl!

Happy Monday everyone!

It is that time of the month again (no not that one!) when the CCEE girls pick someone on SCS who has a catchy user name. We then all make a card around that persons name and feature her on our CCEE Stampers blog. We call it our Catchy Name Featured Stamper Challenge (CNFS).

Tosh our challenge hostess for October selected the name “Sparklegirl” for us to feature. Sparklegirl aka Silke Ledlow work is amazing, I have been an admirer of her creations for a very long time.

Tosh instructed the CCEE Stampers to us to make a Square card (remember this month we are shaping up!), and include a girl, some sparkle, and true to Silke’s style, a lot of white space. There’s a twist too. Since her name has the word Silk in it, you must use the Faux Silk technique found on Splitcoast.

I used The Greeting Farm’s 80’s Anya to create my card. As you can see I used minimal layers just like Silke does … wow was that hard for me to do LOL. I have also noticed that Silke uses a lot of scoring and piercing on her cards so I decided to also add some scored lines down the right side of my card. And I used a white base just like Silke does.

• Square Card – yes
• Girl – yes
• Sparkle – yes, I added sparkle to the bow using a copic spica pen. I also added 3 Swarovski Crystals to my card.
• White Space – yes
• Faux Silke Technique – oops I missed that one but 4 out of 5 isn’t bad right. I suspect I shall get buzzed hehe!

Oh and we just found out that it is Silke's birthday on Tuesday so .........

Today is also Cindy Motherway’s Birthday so the CCEE Stampers decided to do something special for her too. Our instructions were to create a card with a teapot on it (Cindy collects teapots), if we didn’t have teapots then we could just use polka dots on our card (Cindy is mad about polka dots) …. I decided to go with both!

I used the teapot & flower from MFT Stamps new “In the Background” set. The sentiment is from the “Tea For Two” stamp set. I kept my card clean & simple just like Silke’s. I recently discovered a great source of CAS sketches over on the Clean & Simple Stamping Blog. I used their FTL47 layout for my card. The teapot is paper pierced using the reverse of the polka dot design paper, I stamped the flower and added that to the teapot and finished it off with a brown Swarovski Crystal from the Chocolate Kiss collection.

In A Galaxy Far Far Away!

Hi everyone!

Today I am  using Alota Rubber Stamps “Framed Galactic Friends” plate to create my project. When I first saw this particular set of stamps it screamed using it all together in some sort of booklet. After a little thought I decided to create a “One Page Mini Book”, these are so simple to do and lots of fun. I cut my designer paper to a standard size piece of paper (A4 for Aussies) and then using the directions in the link provided created my mini book.

I stamped all the images and sentiments onto white card and then coloured them using similar colors on all the images. Then layered them onto black card and arranged them into my book to create a mini picture book.

This is page 3 & 4 inside my mini book.

And finally the last to pages of my mini book, I ended up using everything but one of the images from the plate. I added ribbon to the front and back of my book so that I could keep it closed. I hope you enjoyed my mini picture book!

Warm My Heart!

Hi everyone!

It is challenge time again over on the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge blog. This week we have another of Cindy Haffner’s fantastic sketches to play with ….. hope you can find time to play along too.

I used MFT Stamps new “Polar Love” stamp set, this isn’t officially released until Nov 4th, however 50 lucky people would have received this free when they spent $75 or more when they placed their orders on Oct 7th … cool ha!

I paper pierced both of the polar bears scarves using designer paper. I also used my new Martha Stewart Drippy Goo Border Punch …. it was the closest I had to icicles and I really like the look!

Here is the inside of my card, again I used the drippy goo border punch to frame my sentiment which is also included with this set.

An Aware Detective!

Hi everyone and happy Friday, I am sure you are all looking forward to the weekend!

It is challenge time for Hanna Stamps over on the Hanna Stamps Member Forum of SCS. This week it is Sandra MacLean’s turn to host the challenge (HSC91). Sandra challenge us to pick an obscure October Holiday from the list she provided and create a card. I decided to go with “Awareness Month”.

I figured that Detective Riley had to be pretty “Aware” to figure out all those clues to solve whatever it is he is solving LOL.

I used the fleur de lis cuttlebug embossing folder to create the background of my card and also the fleur de lis borderabilities for the panel on the bottom of my card.

Galactic Slider

Hi everyone, I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

The card I am sharing today I created last week at the stamp club I attend once a month. This month our projects were to be to create a slider card. I decided to use the Alota Rubber Stamps Mobile Street Houses and the Galactic Friends plate.

To create my card I stamped the Mobile Street scene on white card and also on scrap paper to create a mask … I then used my copic airbrush to color in the sky, path and grass areas. The two galactic friends were stamped on scrap card. The little girl is attached to a slider so that she can go from left to right across my card.

Here she is just a little closer to her friend, the ribbon on either side of the card is pulled depending on which way you want her to go.

Oh look she has finally reached her friend …. yahhhhhhhh! Don’t they look happy to be together.

Ok I created an animation of my card so you can see how the girl moves from left to right across my card …. isn’t it fun!

A Tall Fall Card!

Hi everyone and happy Monday to you all.
My card today combines the two challenges I normally do every Monday, that is CCEE Stampers and The Pink Elephant Challenges. I don’t normally combine these two challenges but with the theme for both this week I just couldn’t help myself.
First up Tosh is still making the CCEE Stampers shape up this month and this week our cards had to be tall! And then I saw that our The Pink Elephant Challenge was to create a Fall card …. so of course I just had to make a Tall Fall card hehe!

This week we also have a sponsor for The Pink Elephant challenge which is the Wildflower Kids Rubber Stamps , each of the design team where given the Fall digi stamps to use on our cards. Being that they are digital you can change the size to whatever you want for your card and I was also able to arrange the pumpkins so that I could get a portion of the pumpkins on either side of the group of three pumpkins that I used at the bottom of my card.
To create the background on my orange base card I used my scorpal and the Cutter Bee Bugs piercing tool … I have linked to it so you can see what I am talking about if you haven’t seen it before. I think scorpal have a similar tool that they use.

A Balanced Holiday Season & A Contest

Greetings everyone!

Here is another card I created using MFT Stamps new “A Balanced Holiday” set that was released earlier in the month.

For this card I used the same colors and designer paper as the card I made for the “A Balanced Circle” card that I posted a couple of week’s ago. I actually created this card first and liked the colors so much that I decided to use the same color scheme for my circle card.

On my tree I added some of the decorations that are included in this stamp set to add to my tree to give it a different look to my first card using the same set. I love this set and am sure you will it again between now and Christmas.

Bunches Of Thanks!

Hi everyone

It’s time for another challenge over on the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge blog.

This week our challenge hostess for October Vicki Garrett challenged us to be Truly Thankful. This is the weekend that they celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada. So we had to create a card with a Thankful Theme ….. it could be a thank you or a Thanksgiving card.

Last week when I was checking my google reader, I discovered this fun watering can template on the Create 4 Fun’s challenge blog. I just loved the idea so I decided I had to make one myself and it would work perfectly with the new MFT Stamps “Garden of Joy” Stamp set that was released during the week. The sentiment is from Flopsey's Flowers set. So this is what I decided to use for my Thankful card today.

Technically I guess it isn’t a card as it is 3D and you can actually put something inside the watering can. But a card can really be whatever you want it to be right!

I used Martha Stewart’s picket fence border punch along the bottom of the watering can for a fun border.
